Frank runs into an old friend
Tweekums17 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
When Frank's old army buddy Jimmy Reeves sees him in a Berlin hotel he decides to get revenge for an event that took place six years previously. He was captured during a job and believes Frank just abandoned him. Jimmy realises that Frank is going to be his contact during a drug deal so arranges for their meeting to be interrupted and both money and drugs taken. He then tells the employer know that Frank ripped him off… the Russian employer is not happy and ultimately both Frank and Jimmy are in danger.

This episode starts well with an amusing scene where a businessman gets into Frank's car thinking it is a taxi; refusing to get out, he gets taken for a spin in an empty car park and gets tossed around like a toy in a washing machine. When the story proper starts it becomes apparent that this series won't just be Frank driving a long distance with a woman with bad guys chasing. In fact Frank takes a back seat for much of the story as we follow Jimmy as he talks about why he needs revenge against Frank and then proceeds to set him up. This episode lacks the long car chase of the opening instalment but still has a short chase through Berlin, an impressive chase through woodland on quad bikes and some exciting action scenes involving both guns and fists. There is some entirely gratuitous nudity but this is shown in a fairly matter of fact way and only includes a couple of topless women and a man's bare backside; people are far more likely to be offended by the language which is strong throughout. Daniel Fathers puts in a decent performance as Jimmy and Chris Vance is growing nicely into the role of Frank. Overall I'd say this was a pretty good episode although perhaps not as exciting as the first.

Warning: Spoilers
Story commences with a group of mercenaries led by Frank Martin (Chris Vance) to rescue a diplomat targeted for assassination. The group is betrayed from within and Martin has no choice other than to leave Jimmy Reeves (Daniel Fathers) behind. A chance encounter 1 1/2 years later sets the scene for Jimmy to exact revenge on Frank by enlisting the same group to destroy Franks credibility as a reliable transporter. Frank sets out to find out who was involved which leads to a shoot out at Jimmy's flat and the group Jimmy was working for to handle the exchange of their property with Frank.

Unfortunately the script is disjointed and makes little sense at times. The fight scenes are quite clumsy, with Fathers acting in some of the scenes below standard. The use of sex scenes does little other than to add some eye candy. All up a poor showing from the first episode.
