Years ago, Rachael Ray famously showed audiences how they could eat delicious food every meal for just $40 a day. Not to be outdone, Jeff Mauro has upped (or downed) the ante, betting he can do the same with just $24.
"$24 in 24," premiering Monday, Sept. 24, is the "Sandwich King" star's latest Food Network venture, taking him across the U.S. to dine for a whole day on local goodies for just $24, including tax and tip for three meals and a snack. And Mauro has a certain standard in mind, too. We're not talking four trips to White Castle.
"It can't just be a turkey sandwich," he tells Zap2it. "You can get that anywhere. Or two hot dogs. Instead of going to a pizzeria for a slice of pepperoni pizza, we go for a plate of three meatballs and a huge freshly made arancini smothered in homemade sauce that you can get...

ABC’s General Hospital leads the way with 23 nominations for Daytime Emmy Awards.
The television academy announced Wednesday that the venerable soap opera will compete with NBC’s Days of Our Lives, CBS’ The Young and the Restless and the canceled All My Children of ABC for best daytime drama. NBC’s The Bold and the Beautiful has won the trophy three years in a row but wasn’t nominated this year.
Other repeat winners are possible, though: Ben Bailey of Cash Cab was nominated for best game show host and Dr. Mehmet Oz as best talk show host.

The "Project Runway All Stars" season is upon us (premieres Thurs., Jan. 5, 9 p.m. Est on Lifetime), and while I'm so excited to see Mondo, Rami, Sweet P, Austin, Kenley and the gang try to make it work again, I can't help but think about what other reality competition shows are due for an all-star season of their own.
"Top Chef" has done it; "The Amazing Race" got its shot; "Survivor" and "Big Brother" routinely bring back winners and fan favorites; and Tyra Banks just had her favorite smizing runners-up back for more "America's Next Top Model."
So what other shows are deserving of the all-star treatment? Here are five I'd like to see ...
1. "The Real Housewives"
"Housewives" fans love to debate which city has the most drama, but nothing could ever top what would happen if Bravo plucked the biggest divas of the bunch, from all the show's many editions,...
