Goodbye social life. Hello Suits.

Warning: Spoilers
I was planning on going out this weekend; but the Suits happened.

The whole series consists of fantastic acting and this episode is not an exception but what makes this episode stand out in my eyes is the sheer character development that takes place within this 40-odd minute show. When people say this, it often has connotations of slow pacing or a filler episode but in reality it couldn't be more wrong...

The episode centres around a case that is cleverly thought out with a solid conclusion; it shows how intelligent Harvey is whilst adding depth to his character. Mike is, as always, extremely likable and acts as the catalyst of the relationship drama that takes place.

Trevor comes back into the situation which causes even more trouble for Mike's future with his girlfriend. Due to each character being so interesting in their own way, it's hard to choose just one that stands out as a favourite. If you've seen the episodes prior to this then you'll know that Mike has to make a choice between the two women in his life. Usually on TV/film the answer is obvious but with this show its anything but that; which is a great feature for a show like this.

Dialogue is always witty in one way or another which plays hand in hand with the chemistry between the cast. This shows has clever and quick humour that after watching you'll more than likely try to think of a way to use that line in your everyday life (maybe that's just me - don't judge!).

+ Great Chemistry + Adds depth to characters + Opens up/hints to possible story direction for S2 + Genuine laugh-out-loud moments

  • Cliffhanger is a killer (I know it's not really a bad thing but whatcha gonna do, sue me?)

Strong characters, engaging storylines, all set to great music while dressed to the nines. A series worth adding to your binge watching rotation.

Warning: Spoilers
When Harvey's lack of awareness as a first year cost a guy years in prison for murder, he decided to do something about. The problem was that he had to butt heads with intractable judges, the police, the family, and the two guys who actually committed the murder. Normal channels get nowhere and Harvey is forced to work a new angle. He decides to get the two culprits to turn on each other by using whatever is necessary. Michael gets Trevor to take a baseball bat an make an impression on the more vulnerable. It isn't in the good guy's playbook. Being innocent isn't enough, as we know today. In a second case, a young woman decides to go after her bosses because an idea for a book was "stolen" from her. Unfortunately, she decided a settlement wasn't enough. But even more important is the hook. Trevor intercepts a call from Rachel concerning a kiss. This leads him to try to ruin Mike's life, going to the firm and giving up his secret. Ready for Season Two.

Solid ending for season 1

Warning: Spoilers
Suits is one of the best legal dramas American television has ever produced. Usually, legal dramas center around litigation and courts and are more concerned with that kind of lawyers (see for example Boston Legal or Law & Order or Bull) but Suits turned to the other side of the law (corporate) and managed to make something so boring as M&A´s and hostile takeovers as interesting (yes, Suits does feature some episodes in court). To me, the great success of this series is the strength of the characters.

Harvey: he is the archetype of a good corporate lawyer. Smart, good looking, rich, cares about himself but beneath all that lies a man that cares and worries and that prides himself in his respect for the law.

Mike: Smart, brilliant. His strength lies in his ability to take a second chance while staying true to his potential.

The rest of the characters (Louis, Donna, Jessica, Rachel) are strong and complex and the writers managed to make them look and feel like real life people working in law firms.

This is the 5th or 6th time i watch suits and it gets better with the years.

This episode is a solid ending for season 1.
