The heart of the matter
Tweekums31 July 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Frank may have a rule about not knowing what he is transporting but he always seems to find out and when he learns that he has been transporting a human heart that had been destined for a teenaged boy he quickly decides that he won't be making the delivery as planned. He turns round and heads towards the hospital. Of course the buyer is determined to stop him as he wants the heart for his own son. The buyer is Drago Sujic a criminal with contacts in criminal world as well as corrupt police; all of whom are on the lookout for Frank.

This was a fairly fun episode which for once started with a scene that was part of the main story; in fact a scene from three hours into the story as after the credits we jump back three hours to see how the events unfold. There is lots of action as Frank rushes the heart across town, crashes his car into liquid concrete, loses the heart to some corrupt police officers, retrieves it again and finally faces Sujic outside the hospital. The action is exciting but not quite as much fun as when he has beautiful woman with him! The fact that he has to decide which child gets the heart provides a slight moral dilemma but it isn't much of a choice really and I'm sure most viewers won't be surprised when at the end both can get a new heart. Some extra humour is provided by Frank's mechanic who puts his back out and decides to get a 'massage' and is disappointed when that is just what he gets. For the first time in this series this episode features no gratuitous nudity which may please some viewers but disappoint others! On the other hand there is some gore as we see some details of the transplant. Overall I'd say that while this wasn't the best episode in the series so far it was fairly entertaining.

A Genuine Heart-Stopper of an Episode!!!
zardoz-136 September 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The "Harvest" ranks as one of the better "Transporter" episodes. As the episode unfolds, Frank is careening along public streets on the sunny French Riviera with a carload of goons following in swift pursuit. Two are perched on the passenger doors, leaning through the windows, and blasting away at our hero with automatic weapons. No matter what Frank does, he simply cannot shake his adversaries. Desperately, he races toward a set of railway tracks for the local trains and launches himself airborne courtesy of planks of wood angled upward at a construction site. Miraculously, Frank takes his Audi into the air and leaps over two trains. Co-directors Andy Mikita and Brad Turner take us back to the beginning of this tale. As it turns out, two dying sons require a heart transplant, but only one heart is available. The middle-class family is overjoyed when they receive word from their doctor that a compatible heart has been found and the hospital staff prepares the boy for his operation. Meanwhile, a notorious French gangster, Drago Sujic (Mike Dopud) has used a go-between, Kagan (J.P. Manoux) to arrange transportation of the heart. As the middle-class family awaits the arrival of the heart, another man who works for Sujic steals the heart and hands it over to Frank (Chris Vance) for transport. Of course, Frank has no idea what he transporting because one of his three rules dictates that he never open the package. Imagine the shock that assails the parents of the middle-class boy when the courier delivers the package and the doctors find it empty. At the same time, Frank has wheeled out of the parking lot of the hospital with the heart. The hospital summons the authorities, and Inspector Tarconi (François Berléand) shows up to conduct the investigation. Frank discovers what he is carrying after an indignant Sujic contacts him about his tardiness. Frank turns around and heads back to the hospital, but he encounters difficulties and has to abandon his Audi. Tarconi learns from the courier that Frank has the heart, and Frank is now trying to return the heart. Sujic alerts anybody who has worked for him in the past to keep their eyes peeled for Frank. At one point, Frank hands the heart over to the cops, but he doesn't know that crooked cops snatch the organ and they are hauling butt to Sujic's mansion. The doctors in the public hospital are concerned because the heart will only be useful for four hours. Frank steals an ambulance after Tarconi informs him via phone that the police have not delivered the heart. Frank careens out to Sujic's mansion, clocks a bodyguard, and get the heart from the dirty cops. Sujic and one of his henchmen pursue Frank, and they have a showdown at the emergency entrance. Fortunately, for Frank, Tarconi picks the right time to arrive and shoots Sujic three times. The hospital attendants rush the heart into surgery, and a dying Sujic convinces Frank to take him back to his mansion. As it turns out, Sujic was mortally wounded and his no chance of living. Nevertheless, Sujic wants to donate his heart to his son. Talk about a fantastic, white-knuckled episode!
