The Back Tenant became quite clear it was written by a man when the landlord started spouting egocentric statements about the woman renter "falling in love" with him and she didn't get some sense and turn and walk away. Women who buy the ego-centric ass hat routine are usually psycho themselves. Top it off with pure chauvinism injected in lines like "You'll resent being the primary bread-winner" (says the man to the woman) and giving the female character a career in flower arranging really led me to believe that Writer/Director Kenneth Wajda has some real issues with women and/or relationships with women. I was desperately waiting for some psycho ending where the two characters are drinking rat poison together under the oak tree out back to bring this film back down to some semblance of interesting. The whole thing from the minute the first line was spoken until the end was a train wreck.
