Amazing

While I can't forgive the character of David Karofsky for the things he did for Kurt, I will not cease to praise Max Adler's (?) performance. I am openly LGBT and I've seen extremely repressed and homophobic people realise that they're LGBT. The way this episode dealt with all of that is so true and while I think the use of f*g is never okay, it added so much to this plot. This is the second episode of Glee I've ever reviewed which is saying something

Best Episode so far...

I just can't understand why people put "1" to this episode! it's perfect, raw, emotional, and the most sincere one...

I think it's the best, grilled cheesus had been my fave, but this changed my mind...

I think that Glee gets better when it gets a little drama on it... Dramatic episodes are always the best ones! At least they are the most emotional ones, and when something makes you tear up it's because is GOOD!

If you got emotional with this ep you can't rate it with 1

think it twice!

Enjoy!

Above all those mistakes Glee has, a good episode.

Warning: Spoilers
One of Glee's classics mistakes was made in this episode. And still, worth the watch. The series has lost its humor appealing for a long time now, and the songs sung will never match the emotional scene w/ Don't Stop Believing in the pilot. But the only thing that keeps me watching (some of the story lines), is the thing that most grew on this season. Karofsky's suicide attempt was a scene wonderfully made, with a sensibility that I don't think I'll ever see on Glee again. But as mentioned before, one of the series' most recurring mistakes was my catch on this episode. The characters Throughout THE WHOLE SERIES (especially Quinn and Santana) have alternated between good and bad intentions. Sebastian was the stronger reminder of that in this season. I know it was a severe trauma, but It didn't feel sincere, as it never does. It's like every supporting role is a pawn, not an actual character with defined personalities, so the writers have a liberty to now insert a friend to Rachel, for example, and some episodes from here an enemy. About Quinn's accident: an obvious, obvious scene, especially because the series is going into a 3-month hiatus, so we needed something to comment through those days.

touching

I like that it touches on labels like geeks, gays, and disabled people. Kurt got tortured by Dave, slushies were thrown at the glee club no matter if they were on football team or not. Down syndrome people are called retarded. Santana calls Finn and the others names, but also respects them. In hs, it is all about labels and in adulthood, it still is. People like Grant Gustin's character continue to label and bash others into adulthood. They do not want to change, but at least his character wanted to compete fairly after Dave tried to kill himself and corrected what he had done. Some people do not want to do that. I respect people like Kurt and Blaine who do not take the easy way out by suicide like many are doing now. McKinley's teachers blame themselves for not doing more for Dave or even knowing about it, but how can one help if the person is not willing to talk about it? He should have gone back to McKinley because he would have help from Kurt and Blaine.the football players may be weirded out, but at least there would have been help. Santana came out also.

OK, another good episode, but serious flaws...
akicork6 August 2020
This moves the story along in a satisfactory direction, but I realise that I have at least three problems with it. I find that I need to call on the ghost of Douglas Adams to engage his Infinite Improbability Drive in order to cope with the character reversal of Sebastian Smythe from completely conscience-free sociopath to moderately acceptable charitable manager. The change of character in Sue Sylvester is almost as difficult to accept, although since she is presented now as having at least two personalities (dissociative identity disorder?) dealing with the problem by saying that there is more than one personality may be less challenging for the audience. But my third problem is a serious disappointment. I was very unhappy in Series 2 with the obvious use of autotune. The cast is made up of competent, skilled musicians who have no need of assistance in hitting a note. The problem lies the other way - if an actor is required to sing or play off-key, that is a real professional challenge for them. I was pleased when I started watching Series 3: it appeared that the use of autotune had been at least scaled well back. My disappointment is in the obvious use of autotune in the Regional Finals sequence. I hope they can do without it in future episodes.

Best Episode Of Glee I Have Watched
davidawesomeman5 July 2023
When I started this episode, the description really didn't give me anything about to what the episode was about. I thought it was gonna be a normal episode of Glee and boy was I wrong. I got such a moving, motivational story and everything in this whole episode was just handled so well. When Glee is good, it can be really something special and that is what they did with this episode here. They made something amazing with having such a good and moving storyline. Everything about it is just wow and this episode made me cry and it's so much better if you go into this episode blind and not knowing anything. That is just how fantastic the episode is and with the way it is done.
