Wow!

Warning: Spoilers
Wow Ben Edlund should write every episode on supernatural. The guy is a brilliantly evil genius who has rarely disappointed us so far. He again writes a new master piece for the decent going season 7. I'm falling in love with the show over and over again.

Mark Pellegrino, Man you make my day. I don't know if I'm evil by saying every time I see Lucifer on screen I widely smile cheek to cheek. I feel sorry about Sam, I sincerely do with all my heart and I can't wait for the extremely long unpleasant hiatus to know what happens next, But seeing Lucifer on screen gives me a surge of happiness that I rarely get on any show on TV. The man is magnificent, evil, manipulative, cunning and even acting as a petulant child sometimes. (I totally dig the forked tongue, Nice touch!)

There has been a lot of speculations about the flashbacks whether it was on season 3 or 4, don't try to figure it out every body couldn't put their fingers on the exact time, However I tend to the idea of it being towards the end of season three and I'm really glad to see the Metallicar back (even if it was a flashback for a brief moment) and the Samulet.

For the second episode in a row, We didn't see Dean drink, which in my book is a good thing but at the same time he seemed less and less interested in the job he was more keen to go after Dick (about whom he has no info what so ever) he didn't even try to get out of bed to listen to the police radio and more and more (to my extreme discontent) he seemed oblivious of Sam's true mental state, Or was Sam a good actor trying to hide the horror show going inside his head 24/7? No Dean, I'm really angry with you, You know better than that and I don't think he will handle it well when "the other shoe drops" and Sam goes completely insane.

Oh poor poor Sammy, What can I possibly say? My heart breaks for the guy, He can never win, No matter how hard he tries, He always looses. Sam has made some shady choices in the past with good intentions and it costed him a lot, He had to sacrifice himself and be damned for eternity of torture in Hell to redeem himself and save the world. But even when he was granted another chance he had to yet suffer again the 24/7 Lucifer hallucinations. Oh Sammy, Peeking inside your head this time made me feel a great awe for you. How strong can someone be to withhold that level of cruelty inside his head all the time, While trying to hide it and function properly on the job? Sam had yet again to sacrifice his sanity to save his big brother, Letting the Devil back in with no chance of turning back or blocking him again. How long will he hide that new state from Dean before he would crumble down? Oh March 9th, Why don't you come already? or is it March 16th? no please no.

The casting was brilliant, I missed daemon stories, exorcism spells, Devil traps and the black smoke. Russell Sams was perfect in his role switching smoothly from a daemon to an innocent man to a crazy psychopath. Nicole Oliver and Jeffrey Ballard were good choices too. The lights and the directing are yet another Supernatural masterpiece.

Reasonable Episode
claudio_carvalho26 February 2013
Four years ago, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Dean and Sam are torturing a demon that possessed the postman Jeffrey and killed women in a farmhouse trying to find Lilith. Out of the blue, the Wiccan Nora Havelock that helped the Winchester brothers to find Jeffrey comes to the place to see the demon. Dean and Sam get the information and exorcise the demon, and they carry the wounded Jeffrey to a hospital.

In the present days, Dean and Sam return to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to investigate the murder of several women. Dean meets Jeffrey that brings him to the demon hideout. Meanwhile Sam, who is seeing Lucifer everywhere, visits Nora and discovers a secret about the murders.

"Repo Man" is a reasonable episode of Supernatural. The story is not bad, but the screenplay is not well written, with new characters and situations appearing and abruptly changing. The dialogs between Lucifer and Sam give humor to the episode. My vote is seven.

Great episode that proves that we needed more Hallucifer
saphira-2845412 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'm rewatching this show and I'm disappointed by how little they used Hallucifer over all. He is an amazing character that singlehandedly improves the episode by a lot every time he is on screen. The dynamic he has with Sam is very interesting and seeing how the hallucinations affect Sam from this perspective is much better than just hearing about it every few episodes. It's also a shame they didn't use it for more than Sam having hallucinations and feeling terrible after this episode showed that Hallucifer could become a part of his subconsciousness and influence the way he acts directly. Despite the fact that you can see Sam observing and processing the crucial details at the same time Hallucifer is talking about them, it's easy to be fooled into thinking that it was something else than his own mind giving him hints, which makes this Lucifer feel much more real and harder to ignore by Sam - a clever way to have Hallucifer reenter the scene and not go away anymore. What I'm trying to say is that this was a great reopening of that great, but underused plot line. Also the A plot, Jeffrey and the demon, had an great earlier Supernatural vibe with something fresh added.

There's really just 3 problems I kind of have with this episode. Starting with the least important one, I don't understand how did they paint the last devil's trap, it makes absolutely 0 sense. It's not the only time this show just dumps a surprise pentagram on you, but they didn't even try to explain how they drew it without Jeffrey hearing or seeing them. The red herrings around Jeffrey worked well and it was heartbreaking to see such a good guy turning out to be a serial killer obsessed with the demon that possessed him. However some of his lines towards the end were weird. How would he know how Dean is feeling about saving the world and why would that be what is he talking about? It felt shoehorned in. Also this episode should have been a wake up call for the brothers about how their actions can impact normal people after the monster is sent away, but that is never brought up again, so focusing on it this episode seemed counterintuitive. But these are just small details, not enough to bring down the episode significantly.

Why did it take this long to get to this idea?
CubsandCulture23 April 2020
The episode is quite a well realized thriller and I simply adore the stuff that Hallucifer brings to it. It has the lightness of tone that the best episodes have so that it straddles the horror-comedy line quite well. Jeffrey is a wonderful character and he is written to be believable, chilling. The episode contains just enough homoerotic subtext to be meaningful without leaning into the gay killer stereotype too much. It is a little ad hoc in terms of how this story works in the overall plot of the show (I am no sure the season 4 connection even makes sense) but it is so minor it doesn't matter.

But I find it quite puzzling that it took 7 years to get to the idea that some humans would want to be possessed. This seems like it should have occurred earlier in the show's run.

Pretty great demon episode

The twist was a bit predictable but it was a good thriller, good acting, and a good turn back to demons. The concepts made sense and it was a bit creepy too.

Okay but a recycled episode!
mm-3920 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Repo Man is about a serial killer who deals with demons that are involved with the killer. Sam and Dean walk into the Killer's trap! There is a surprise twist in the script, but more of the same old dealing with the deceit of a demon. I did not mind the episode, but nothing to exciting about Repo Man. I give Repo Man a seven out of ten. I think after seven years of Supernatural the script writers are finding the writing process harder and harder to come up with new idea! I think the first season was the best for Supernatural. The show really misses the levity that the character Bobby brought. Why did they write him out of the show? I am waiting for an exciting new character and or subplot for the series this season.
