In this fast-moving episode, Prime Minister Tom Dawkins makes a fateful decision to launch a drone strike that kills one of the alleged participants in the plot to murder the previous PM. It turns out that the strike occurred in Iranian territory and is thereby an act of war.
One of the most interesting characters emerging in this episode is Agnes Evans, the computer whiz who has studied the film footage of the loading of the plane that killed the PM. But Agnes may be playing a dangerous game in sharing her findings.
Another mysterious figure is Matthews, who was photographed at the Scarrow factory on the day of the explosion. He may hold the key to the secret fuel was being developed at the plant. The oily head of Petroflex believes that Tom is a lightweight and that England will fold its cards under pressure about the settlement asked for the Scarrow families.
As always, Tom is cool as a cucumber under pressure and always has a snappy retort to his adversaries.
