This was a favorite episode with the garbage being taken out permanently, the informant together with his attorney arrested, Maria jailed along with the hitman and Raydor proving she can hit a target with a shotgun from a relatively short distant. Hobbs healed up from her wound, Agent Howard got his man and Gavin learned how serious Chief Johnson was in pursuing her objective, particularly when someone takes a shot at her husband. It makes for good TV when the leak is not recognized although suspected coming through the murder room personnel.

Provenza demands from his fellow officers for someone to come-clean because someone is telling the dead defendant's attorney everything, even before all of the team know the details. Raydor speaks to Brenda about someone letting opposing counsel know facts normally kept at the LAPD. Detective Gabriel sits attentive but unaware his roommate is spewing information to the opposing counsel for the price of a substantial tuition payment toward her law school debt.

It is a shame the officers do not communicate more with what they do after work, who they talk to or where they go after hours.

Gavin does not have a clue because of the arrogant and flippant manner in which they answer his five questions. He certainly does not want his opponent to get this information.

Do you think for a moment that the conversations Gabriel is having at the dining table just might be passed on to others? Why Gabriel is discussing shop talk around someone else other than fellow LAPD officers is something to ponder or realize love is blind or the Sergeant is not as street smart as one might think; that MBA did not cover common sense.

Why would the girlfriend be interested in what happened at work? Who does she love, David or the gossip? Pity we do not find out until much later that it was her all along, we already know Goldman is a scumbag yet Brenda falls victim to her employer for being sold out by Gavin with the Johnson Rule. Pope agreed to the ruling and to give Goldman a million-dollar stipend is gut-wrenching. Brenda is fed up with all parties and storms out of Pope's office, after firing Gavin; too little too late.

Sanchez never excuses Gabriel for the damage he caused, i.e. no apology accepted, he in fact has his back turned when Gabriel asks for forgiveness. Sanchez will say to Provenza I told you so in the forthcoming episode about David's deceitful roommate.

This was an excellent story with plenty of dramatic interactions to please most anyone but watch in particular the squad members as they one by one never approach each other on camera about the information put forth to the low-level Goldman. There is much in this review that will happen in a later episode and it will be refreshing to look back upon this after Raydor summons Gabriel from an interview room in the leak uncovered episode. For what it is worth Flynn and Sanchez do not want to work with Gabriel ever again, Tao being complacent, Provenza likely will not miss Gabriel either.

One slaying, several arrests, an attempted hit on a D.D.A., a firing, our heroine disgraced later all in the direction of a great series.
