  Ed Lane : What's in your hand?

  Mike Scarlatti : It's the audio drive, I'm gonna get rid of it.

  [Ed shakes head disapprovingly] 

  Mike Scarlatti : Ed what boss said up there has no bearing on the case.

  Ed Lane : It's not our call.

  Mike Scarlatti : He was torn wide open. He was fighting for his life. There's no reason why everybody's gotta here that. It could cost him his job.

  Ed Lane : I hear ya.

  Gregory Parker : Spike. Give it to me Spike.

  Mike Scarlatti : Boss no one needs to know we used the parabolic, it doesn't affect the investigation in any way.

  Gregory Parker : It all goes in, every word.

  [Spike gives audio drive to Parker] 

  Gregory Parker : No more secrets.

• Raf Rousseau : [Doing a mock negotiation with Ed as a subject who has put his gun down]  I appreciate that Tim. Now I'm gonna holster my gun, and maybe we can talk about what's going on here okay?

  Ed Lane : I've said my peace.

  Raf Rousseau : I'd just like to here some more if that's okay. Just talk to me. Just tell me what happened here today.

  [Ed fires two blank rounds at Raf] 

  Gregory Parker : And you're dead.

  Mike Scarlatti : Really dead.

  Raf Rousseau : You told me he just had the nine mil.

  Gregory Parker : Yeah I got it wrong.

  Raf Rousseau : Are you serious?

  Gregory Parker : That'll happen.

• Gregory Parker : [is handcuffed and strapped to a rope on top a megatron where Gil has pushed him out so that only the rope Gil is holding stops him from falling to his death]  What do you want from me, Gil?

  Gil Collins : Thought it was obvious. I want a lesson. You got an agitated subject bent on revenge. So, show me how it's done, Parker. Talk... me... down!

• Gil Collins : Nice try, Parker. You know, I see that you're trying to connect but I'm not some meth-head with a knife. You can't fool me!

  Gregory Parker : No, that's not what I'm trying to do.

  Gil Collins : Yes, it is! It's Greg Parker to a tee! So smug, his feet doesn't touch the ground 'til some nut case picks up a gun and then he goes all teddy-bear, but you know what? You're leaving out the most important thing.

  Gregory Parker : Please, please tell me what that is.

  Gil Collins : You took it from me! All of it. I aced every drill, but I wasn't good enough for you because some role-playing exercise didn't go the way you wanted it to. You've been gunning for me since day one, Parker, just like today. Determined to see me fail! So, I push back. I told Miranda, you know what I said to her? I said, "He's testing me. He's testing my resolve. You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna work harder, I'm gonna try again. I'm gonna show 'em all." You know what I didn't count on? Everyone taking your side. My sergeant, my own partner, everyone. You poisoned them against me!

• Gregory Parker : I'm done talkin.'

• Gregory Parker : One subject, one hostage, one knife. Let's fill in some blanks.

• Gregory Parker : [on radio]  Sam, he's not responding. Give him a nudge.

  Sam Braddock : [pounds on door]  Sir, this is Sam Braddock from the Police Strategic Response Unit! We need to talk to you! Please, answer the phone!

  [subject picks up phone and slams it to the floor] 

  Raf Rousseau : He's... not so keen to talk, boss.

• Gregory Parker : [on phone with security guard who's jumped in to try and negotiate]  Gil, we're working out a solution here, buddy. You just keep Danny calm.

  Gil Collins : Will do.

  Gregory Parker : Let him know I'd like to talk to him, but don't pressure him, right? Just let him set the pace.

  Gil Collins : Okay, I got it.

  Gregory Parker : And don't promise him anything.

  Gil Collins : [annoyed]  I said I got it. You do your job, I'll do mine.

  [Parker is taken aback and stares at the phone] 

• Ed Lane : What are you thinking, boss?

  Gregory Parker : I'm thinking this wasn't about money. I'm thinking this was about being a cop again.

  Mike Scarlatti : He set this whole thing up so he could stop it?

  Ed Lane : Step in and save the day.

  Gregory Parker : Prove that he's SRU material after all.

• Gil Collins : [answering phone]  What were you thinking, Parker? I had it under control.

  Gregory Parker : It looked ragged, Gil. I made a call.

  Gil Collins : I had him! You screwed it up!

  Gregory Parker : Listen, Gil, why don't you come on in and we'll debrief.

  Gil Collins : And how do you wanna debrief? Okay, how about this... You know what? There was a time when a cop just had to be a cop. Now he's gotta be a shrink, too.

  Gregory Parker : Is that what this is about, Gil? Maybe there's room for both.

  Gil Collins : Well, you know what? Let's meet up. I'll bring my sidearm, you bring your ink blots, we'll see who makes a better case.

• Ed Lane : [on radio]  Greg, make some noise.

  Gil Collins : [handing Greg's radio back to him]  Tell him I'm headed south.

  Gregory Parker : I can't do that, Gil.

  Gil Collins : [points gun at Decklan]  South across the bowl. Tell them.

  Ed Lane : Greg, talk to me.

  Gregory Parker : [puts radio on ear]  I'm here, Eddie. Subject is headed south, repeat, he's headed toward the south end of the bowl.

  Ed Lane : [on radio]  Okay, Team One, you heard the man. Stop the sweep. I need everybody to regroup on level one.

  Gregory Parker : Back-up's on the way, Ed, so move with caution and stay frosty.

  [Ed, Sam, and Raf all stop dead in their tracks] 

  Ed Lane : He's got Greg!

• Gregory Parker : I've got a teenage son and he did the bravest thing I'd ever seen - he let his deadbeat dad back into his life. It's all I wanted for years, it's all I thought about and guess what? Now that it's happened, I wake up at night and I think, I say to myself - I should push him away now, push him away now so I don't do it by accident down the road.

• Gregory Parker : You think I'm gunning for you? Let me tell you something, I've got a whole team down there. You know how I've repaid their trust? I've kept secrets from them, I've lied to them, I've broken protocol. That's right. That's right. Lives and careers and... and relationships... They could all go down the tube and that would all be on me. And you know... And you know why I do that? Because I don't know any other way! That's the best I can figure out!

  Gil Collins : No, no, no... You're trying... You're try... You're trying to trick me. You're trying to build empathy.

  Gregory Parker : I'm not negotiating with you, Gil. I'm saying my peace. You think you know me, you think I'm one kind of thing, well, I'm not. I'm something else. I'm not after you... I don't even know you! I've got enough going on in my life. You're not part of it, buddy! You misread this! You understand? You're wrong!

• Ed Lane : How you holding up?

  Gregory Parker : I killed him, Eddie.

  Ed Lane : Greg, he was unwell. He killed himself.

  Gregory Parker : He was splitting. He set out to slay the monster and I convinced him he was it.

  Ed Lane : Greg, he was trying to kill ya. He was trying to kill you. You did what you had to do here, buddy. You did what you had to do!

  Gregory Parker : I got angry. I got angry and I lost control.

• Raf Rousseau : [regarding the hostage negotiator training he failed that morning]  I've been thinking about this morning... the exercise. I think I know the solution.

  Gregory Parker : Go on.

  Raf Rousseau : There is no solution. The failure, it's... it's built in, you know? And it ain't ever about beating the drill. It's not that. It's... It's about... It's about learning to live with the choices you've made.
