Very good.

A well known singer who's been our of the public eye for years, the team are on hand to watch his comeback.

I thought this was a cracking episode, the terrific mix of mystery and fun, this first series is so good.

The opening looks incredible, I love the carnival atmosphere and costumes, everyone looks terrific, I love the visuals.

Richard Poole has never looked more out of place, in his suit bopping to the music, and walking along with his briefcase, the glorious scenery in the background.

Some very well known faces, very well acted, you will enjoy the presence of Keith Duffy and Ray Fearon.

As a Line of Duty addict, I was ecstatic to see Adrian Dunbar appear in the credits, in sure he will appear later on, as we don't get very much of him.

8/10.

Fine, but could have been better.

Warning: Spoilers
After disappointing in "An Unhelpful Aid", I really hoped that the 1.season of "Death in Paradise" gets back on track with very good episodes. Unfortunately, "Music of Murder" was not solid at all . It's not a bad episode, but is still quite underwhelming.

Let's start with good, shall we?

. The production values are great as always. The acting is pretty good too. Ray Fearon and Sarita Choudhury are good in particular.

. There are some charming moments to be found in "Music of Murder". To be frank, I really liked the rock-music setting

But...

. The murder mystery was sadly disappointing. There could have been way more twists and turns. Some characters like Eddie, Renward, Neville needed more meat to their bones and because these character are forgotten about, they felt as underdeveloped suspects at the end of the day. That's why the solution of this episode (the killer is one of the least-focused characters) doesn't work that well too. The motive for the murder was really forgettable.

. To be honest, I have never been a huge fan of Paul Harrison as a director. Even though he directs a fine-looking episode, his direction misses the energy and magic that other directors have put in "Death in Paradise".

. Richard Poole was a bit too arrogant with his co-workers as well...

Overall, fine, but not at all great episode .

Warning: Spoilers
An Island Festival, with a Local Band Reunion Gig, and its Lead Singer's Suicide? Who is the Mysterious Fan Photographer, that seems to haunt the proceedings?

Richard appears to have an ear for music without seeming to actually enjoy listening to it. I find it particularly sad to hear someone claiming that they don't like music, as I can't live without it. Though I have to agree with Richard in one thing, I don't dance either.
