Loved the movie, concept and the acting.

I'll still deduct a few points on a predictive storyline, yet the acting of the entire cast binds through the entire movie.

Tamannaah really gave her Haryanvi heart out to this role and may prove to be game changer to her Hindi film career, that almost ended after Himmatwala & Humshakals.

Her diet, her jokes, clean heart and how Haryanvi girls tackle the point of marriage at their homes is clearly shared. A little more into a haryanvi village life could add better flavor to the starting.

Madhur Bhandarkar could explicitly share some of the female bouncers in the city.

I will cover this review in a QA format for a change.

Does it provide entertainment? Yes, it is a pretty entertaining movie.

Is it boring anytime? I didn't find it sagging anytime. The narrative was free flowing and music helped to keep the tempo going.

How is the direction ? Madhur Bhandarkar is known to have made serious films on various subjects which have exposed the inside working of some professions. This movie deals with the less discussed profession of woman bouncers and the difficulties encountered.

Is the plot new / interesting? It is definitely a novel plot presented in a nice manner.

What about dialogue? It is fairly witty and does help in keeping the movie going.

How is the acting ? Tamanna has made character bubbly and bouncy which most people will like. She has interpreted all shades of the character convincingly, including the action scenes. Sourav Shukla as the father is endearing. The others have provided good support.

Any negative points ? The plot is predictable at some points, but not an issue since a number of movies have predictable plots. Also there are a few unconvincing scenes.

Is it recommended? Yes.

Babli Bouncer is one of the most engaging and entertaining movie of this year. Must watch. It was a light hearted movie and so i liked it. Tammana's acting was great and so was her comedic timing. The storyline could have been better but since it was a feel good movie so story being a bit off works.

Kukku is so cute in this movie, all the other characters have also done a superb job in making an entertaining movie. It's a unique story, must watch for Tamannah' performance. I Just loved watching the movie. After so long to time i have seen something like this... kudos to the whole team.. amazing movie.. everyone should watch this.

Fun Watch

Babli Bouncer is one of the best Hindi film of Tamannah Bhatia until now in terms of her performance. As far as story is concerned the plot is good but is not going anywhere which means we didn't see any effective conclusion of what is happening in the film. We as audience miss Madhur Bhandarkar kind of cinema in it. The dark side of the society and how the character comes out positively from it. Movie also lacks good music and songs which should be there in such kind of movie to catch the attention of the audience. Its a one time watch you can enjoy with your family and friends. You will get entertainment.

Seriously this movie is one of that feel good movie list, that will keep you smiling throughout the movie length, just finished watching it and I generally don't write reviews of movies and specially on this platforms when it requires so much efforts to write an essay, but i loved it

1. The simplicity of the movie 2. New concept ( story and the dialogues ) 3. Message of the movie 4. Actors in the movie are awesome ( casting perfect) 5. Songs only when required

So its not one if those heavy budget movies with those ultra big stars and that weak screen play, with due respect i loved this movie and yes, Sahil vaid and Abhishesk bajaj steal the show and obviously Tamannah did it the best 😍

Must watch.

Bruh! Haryanvis don't sound like that

Realistic no!! Not satisfying. Haryanvi accent was awful! Expected so much better from tamannah bhatia. She is a phenomenal actress. Actors were all good but the acting wasn't upto the mark. The soundtracks tried to make the movie funny but the sarcasm seemed forced most of the times. Sometimes the accent seemed to be on spot but mostly forced. I hope further haryanvi based movies try to do a little more research on the accent and behaviour of haryanvis instead of following the stereotypes set by the previous bollywood movies. Otherwise the concept was good and progressive. Giving 6 stars for the concept, progressive nature, tamanna, other cast.

It is a madhur bhandarkar film who is a master of realistic character but god knows what happened here..the idea of portraying a female bouncer was good but this character was made to irritate..tamanas expressions,her extra haryani ascent,burbings,silly jokes was made to irritate rather to laugh..

the makers had a good road to show a female bouncer and her struggle in this society but they took on a another direction..small fights and nonsense issues were solved by this lady bouncer..

I was waiting that now the movie will turn on some serious issue but it ended..mindless love story was presented with bad songs..

Simple story, great acting, #tamannabhatia ek hi dil hain, kitne bar jitogi👍👍👍👍, madhur bhandarkar is back with a bang, this movie shows the purity of heart in our villages n willpower of an woman. From start to end it's a pure gold, only Tamanna can do this, she was n is d ultimate hero n mind it n saying hero because she is. Everyone who have a girl child shall watch this n cherish it, once again Tamanna Bhatia proved she is the queen. Acting, emotions, dialogue everything is good in this movie, very rarely such kind of movies come where you actually think of a sequel even before the movie is finished.

Babli Bouncer Review: Madhur Bhandarkar's Attempt at Comedy Deserves to be Thrown Out

There's something in the air of Asola-Fatehpur Beri, on the outskirts of Delhi. These twin urban villages are known for being the birthplace of bouncers, but that's not the point of concern. In director Madhur Bhandarkar's film Babli Bouncer, the residents of Asola-Fatehpur Beri are all suffering from mass delusion. When they look at Babli - a pink-cheeked, bright-eyed Tamannaah Bhatia - they declare she's unmarriageable because she's not womanly enough when in fact, Bhatia is the epitome of north Indian, feminine beauty. The only difference between Babli and Bhatia's other on-screen appearances is that Babli looks healthy, rather than petite. Apparently, that's all it takes for a woman to be knocked off the pedestal of desirable femininity. Also burping. (Fun fact: Babli is the only person we hear burp in the entire film. Even though her burps are presented as proof of her masculinity - irritable bowel syndrome would have been more convincing - not one man in Babli Bouncer expels gas audibly.)

Madhur Bhandarkar's break from serious cinema.

Babli Bouncer review :

Chalo, atlast!! Madhur Bhandarkar takes a break from his serious cinema to make a light frothy feel good fare on a Haryanvi lady bouncer who makes a name for herself in big bad Delhi. Thankfully, Babli Bouncer turns out to be significantly better than his last few movies specially Heroine (2012) and Calendar Girls (2015) which reeked of monotony. Ohh ya!!

So, let me introduce you to the desi girl Babli (Tamannah Bhatia) who burps in public, flunks her high school studies and dreams of settling down in marriage with two kids in tow. Woe! Falling instantly for the 'phoren' return dude Viraj (Abhishek Bajaj), Babli moves to Delhi in guise of a bouncer job just to be able to meet him. A drunken tiff at a birthday party awakens her conscience and she sets on a path to get her life together. "He showed me the mirror and I dont like the Babli I saw in it", she tells her childhood bud.

Bhandarkar's narrative is fast paced and the bar scenes are quite entertaining to watch. Like the one where Babli shows a haughty lady customer (Upasna Singh, after eons) her right place!! "Bill pay please"!! In another scene, she cools down a hotheaded MLA's son using her tact. It's competently executed!!

Expectedly, Tamannah Bhatia is endearing as Babli and I would rate this as one of her career best act. Bhandarkar has a knack of extracting the best from his leading ladies right from Tabu in Chandni Bar (2001) to Bipasha Basu in Corporate (2006). He gets it right this time as well! Saurabh Shukla is also impressive in a supporting role.

Overall, Babli Bouncer is a decent one time watch. Infact, this weekend seems to be a Tamannah fest on OTT as her Plan A Plan B also released on Netflix alongwith Babli on Hotstar. I watched both the movies but would recommend Babli Bouncer only. Stick to it. Dont switch to Plan B!!

Babli Bouncer (2022) : Movie Review -

Madhur Bhandarkar was over a long time ago. He made Chandni Bar and Page 3, and those are the only films I found good. He just kept using the script again and again in his next films, which made me lose faith in him. The graph kept going down with each film, and with Babli Bouncer, it reached the bottom. What was that? Bhadarkar Sir, seriously? I mean, losing touch is okay, it can be termed as human error, but what a big thrash have you made this time? Is this what you call a Comedy, family entertainer, or whatever you say? Babli Bouncer has left me in such a situation that I feel like I should have hired some psychological bouncers to protect my brain before watching it. Hotstar had many craps this year, but this was too much.

Babli Bouncer is a story of a young and beautiful village girl, Babli (Tamannah Bhatia). She is 10th-failed and is interested in body building. Without any reason, she falls in love with an educated boy from Delhi, Viraj (Abhishek Bajaj). The affair begins from her side, and she moves to Delhi to become a female bouncer at a night club. The one-sided affair turns into a disaster episode and Babli learns a lot about life. She then decides to stand on her own while continuing her bouncer's job, and the rest of the story has nothing interesting left for you.

Madhur Bhandarkar has always made realistic films, and that's why I loved them in the first place. For the first time in his career, he tried to do something different with Babli Bouncer (a comedy), but sadly, he failed miserably. The script is very dull and has nothing in store for any kind of audience, be it the masses or classes. Babli Bouncer tries many things at the same time but fails to find the right balance between multiple aspects of comedy. This topic was actually so good, but the messy screenplay and outdated vision snatched away all the scope from it. This female bouncer thing was so new for Bollywood, but what have we made out of it? Babli Bouncer? That's totally unfair. That's not what the topic deserves. To hell with the writers. I don't really see any logic behind using this romance angle, and most importantly, how Babli, as an aspiring girl, looks at it. Amit Joshi, Aradhana Debnath and Madhur Bhandarkar's trio lock themselves into a box of limits, they just don't step out of that. Moreover, everything that comes out of the box is totally useless.

Talking about the star cast, Tamannah nails the Haryanvi accent. Well, that's new for her, but what about acting? That's below par for sure. She doesn't really look like a bouncer in some scenes. She is too cute and fair to play a gaav ki chhori. And how irritating does she look with those Dakars and pathetic dialogues? Abhishek Bajaj's handsome looks will have you for a while, and his chemistry with Tamannaah is beautiful, but soon you'll notice that he doesn't really suit the beauty of Bhatia. A talented actor like Saurabh Shukla is totally wasted here. And I don't really know what Ashwini Kalsekar was doing there in a 2-minute scene. Sahil Vaid, who has given good performances in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Dil Bechara, drops himself to a lower standard. The rest of the cast also hasn't done anything else besides terrible acting.

The technical aspects of Babli Bouncer will be overlooked because of the small screen experience. Thank God, it wasn't released on the big screen, otherwise all those B-grade frames would have spoiled it more. Music is too dull to be mentioned here and is a waste of two more lines. The dialogues have a certain, intentional northern flavour, which looks so downmarket sometimes. Who writes such cheap dialogues in 2022, and that too for an OTT film? Babli Bouncer is a motive-less film, and one of the worst parts of it is its climax. It hardly makes you laugh, but it will give you that chance to laugh at the director after the film is over. Such off-track stories should be banned soon. Madhur Bhandarkar should stick to his basics and not try something he can't make. Babli Bouncer couldn't have gotten anywhere else with this story, but what about direction, execution, and crafting? Did Bhandarkar approve it all with blind eyes? Anyway, try and skip Babli Bouncer, unless you want to see the gorgeous Tamannaah Bhatia. But that's available on YouTube for free in a short time, right? Then why waste your 2 hours on something that is not even worth 2 minutes of your life?

Fabulous Movie

Fully entertaining movie, love the acting of Tamanna after long time I seen nice story & entertaining movie. No Voilence, No False Language, No Nudty this movie can watch with parents. Story is simple about a girl who is not well educated but straight forward, simple, incoent & who is fearless n daughter of wrestler but I am disappointed why such beautiful story movies not to release on theatre this movie only released in OTT platform. Tamanna as superb as a Babli & Kukku is Cute. Full of emotions, fun and ambitious movie, never felt bore.

A really good movie, I'm so glad I took the time to see this.

An average experience

The film follows the story of Babli, a village girl from Bodybuilding village with great strength. She falls in love with a rich guy Viraj who changes her mindset from just desiring to get married and having babies to being a matured woman who focuses on progressing her career to achieve financial freedom. This causes her to become a bouncer and try to clear 10th exam. Despite these efforts, the hero doesn't accept her love because she has no manners and has the behaviour of a village person. The situation completely changes when Babli helps Viraj from being killed by Minister's son using "Talk no Jutsu" which causes Viraj to fall in love with Babli. In the end when hero proposes to Babli, she just rejects him telling that this is just infatuation and true love is accepting their lover for who they are.

I feel disappointed by how Babli simply rejects Siddhu although he has all the characteristics she is looking for in love. Even after she reveals she has lied all along, Siddhu still accepts her and continues to help and be friendly with her.

Acting wise, Tamannah and her father did a wonderful job in it. The way the movie potrays Tamannah was really lovely. Babli's bike scenes were a delight to watch.

Overall, my rating is 6/10 for its weak plot, overextended story and awesome acting by Tamannah.

So many right things... all done WRONG!

The plot for Babli Bouncer was on point. A village of male bodybuilders all working in the city, and now the village supplies a local female bully as the bouncer as well. It could have elements of comedy, antagonist too big for the protagonist to go against, societal no-nos to overcome, and yet have a social message at the very end.

But even with so much right elements to play, the director lost track of where the movie should head. The writing is really poor, dialogues almost cringe-worthy, and Tammanh's acting potential all gone to waste. I could rate the movie lower, but the enjoyed the premise during the first-half. But the half-baked romance, instable friendship, weak protagonist motivation, and the lack of any imminent threat left during the second half was not enough to leave a mark.

Good light entertaining movie.

It is a light entertaining movie but is tacky as far the Haryanvi speaking abilities of its protagonist go. I think more efforts should have gone into that aspect to make it more authentic. Notwithstanding that acting is good by Tamannah Bhatia & Saurabh Shukla whose Haryanvi speaking was much better & convincing. Supporting cast also is OK. I quite enjoyed the movie with my wife who was also appreciative of the overall quality of the cast and the story line. It has come as a gust of fresh air in the otherwise current gloomy scenario of mainstream cinema & OTT content. I think more such short & sweet cinema will do good.

The transition of a women from a village love sick girl to an independent career orientated women is all is movie is about , in this journey there is love, laughter, heart break , action , emotion and everything else. Indeed a very good movie. For me it's a 10/10.

Awesome! Really difficult to find good entertainers these days. This is one of those good entertainers. Away from the usual noise this movie really soothes the soul, you do not feel dragged at any moment.

Tamanna is really good, she indeed glows in the whole movie. Couldn't stop watching the movie even though it was getting very late. It's a love comedy, combined with something inspirational.

Teaches us that village women can do with their life rather than just marry and have kids. The aim is to become more able, more competent. The songs are also good.

Tamannaah Bhatia and Madhur Bhandarkar Has Made An Ultimate Cringefest !!!

Babli Bouncer is not like any of Madhur Bhandarkar's previous films. Perhaps it is a sign of times that the filmmaker--who has time and again made stories on women breaking the glass ceiling--uses the comedy genre for the trope this time. But sadly, unlike many of his previous attempts (Page 3, Fashion), Babli Bouncer lacks a soul. The film can't decide if it wants to be a coming-of-age story or a fun comedy laden with a hundred stereotypes. It tries to be both and ends up being neither, wasting a promising plot and doing disservice something important.

Babli Bouncer is about the titular Babli Tanwar (Tamannaah Bhatia), a girl from the Asola-Fatehpur Beri twin villages near Delhi, which are known as the village of bouncers. The pehelwans of these villages work as bouncers in the nightclubs of Delhi-NCR. And Babli follows suit as a 'lady bouncer'. Her motivation is to escape marriage and meet a cute Delhi boy she saw at a village function. The film then shows Babli's growth as she re-evaluates her life choices and learns to prioritise what matters.

A Mumbai filmmaker's half-baked, shallow notions of Delhi are best exemplified in a scene in which a politician's son and Viraj clash in the nightclub when the former lights a cigarette in a no-smoking zone. You know who I am, the belligerent rule-breaker growls. Typical Delhi, Viraj retorts with the air of somebody who wants to convince us that he knows the city better than anyone else.

The dialogue seems like it is out of a 90s film, written by someone with only a vague idea of how people from the region talk. The stereotypes are overflowing, with every character reduced to a caricature of how a south Bombay person would see them probably. The cop is caricaturishly comic, the Delhi dude is all about 'my baahubali saansad daddy', the girls are snorting in the club, and the villagers are all simpletons. I understand that the narrative needed a dramatic presentation of the Delhi Babli sees. But even after accounting for that, the presentation lacks subtlety.

In the end, Babli Bouncer is an earnest attempt at a coming-of-age story. It presents a likable character in a different setting. But then the plot discards that setting completely, choosing to focus on Babli's love life instead. Had a film named after a female bouncer sent a little more time in going through what these women face and overcome, it may have been a better, and more palatable story.

A complete entertainer

Though I didn't liked Tamanna's acting in her initial days but she has matured a lot and with movies like Maestro,Plan A Plan B (though movie didn't do well but her acting was on another level) and now Babli Bouncer she is now a complete versatile actress. And Saurabh Shukla is a Legend (no words for him ) . He can even convert a stone to gold with his touch . Story is good and simple and well directed by Madhur Bhandarkar . Sahil Vaid was outstanding as well as other co stars . Music is okayish type. Overall a complete package with comedy,drama,sometimes emotional & at the end a good message.

Overrated

The movie is having too high stars, for this i am surprise. From the start and the first length of the movie, is super irritating.

The plot is good, female bouncer, but it is stretched so long, so unnecessarily long that you would simply be irritated and just completely bored from it.

Tamannaah Bhatia expressions, her dialogues, the way she played the role was just too silly, it was suppose to have that comedy element but she has miserably failed to perform so.

The cast of the comedy element was included, but the story and lines used were not up to the mark.

Hence my complete surprise to such high rating of the movie.

Need to avoid this one.

Good and fun movie

It's a good and funny story of babli bouncer.

Enjoyed watching it.

A good story movie. Bunch of comic scenes, and show cases simple Desi girl and her way of thinking.

Not much of illogical scenes or comic that we usually see in typical Bollywood movies.

Not to many Bollywood songs, so that's better.

I will say it's a must fun watch movie. I don't know why some people taking it as serious movie or subject.

If you are looking for a serious movie out of fun comic movie then you will be disappointed.

It do showcase some of major problem that small village or town girls faces when they want to do a job outside there home town.

Unbearable Overacting

Tamannah was trying too hard to perform that haryanvi character and she tried too hard that it was totally unbearable... I have never seen someone do this kind of overacting except KRK in deshdrohi.. Please save yourself from the torture and avoid watching this overacting ki dukaan movie. Also this movie doesn't lack only in acting but lacks on the script, screenplay, direction, dialogues and everything else.. I really don't understand why didn't they replaced tamannah when it's clearly visible she is unable to perform the character and if you think all this was not enough they even have worst songs that you can ever listen. I really don't know how this movie got such high ratings on IMDB, there is definitely something fishy, please don't go by the ratings and avoid watching this.

Plot of the Movie

Babli, girl from the village of a Delhi, gets a job as a lady bouncer in one of the clubs of Delhi. Post that, she realizes her true meaning of life from there the story takes a turn.

Inertia of the society towards women empowerment, notion of the women been confined to kitchen walls. Are these really need to be addressed again and again.

Story penned by Amit Joshi, Aradhana Debnath and Madhur Bhandarkar, really need to figure out. They should realize that although atrocity happens but its not the topic to be represented again and again on the screen.

Tamannaah had chosen a character which is different from her commercial kind of characters. She able to justify the character with the village accent.

The situation portraying babli's mugglesness with delhi culture blended with cuteness & immatureness was beautifully extracted from her but still the movie fails in its story.

One side love failure making realize the women that she is not worthy enough, then a journey of her hardships to prove her mettle. All these are outdated.

Overall, a forgettable one-time watchable movie.

After a long time a female performance has been this much impressive. Madhur Bhandarkar's Babli Bouncer is a wonderfully written women empowerment film. I think this is the kind of movie you will either love or hate. I personally loved it. Kudos to Tamannaah Bhatia for nailing it as Babli in Babli Bouncer, Loved the way she delivers all her dialogues and kept everybody entertained. My first time watching it, I was sitting at the edge of my seat feeling like something big was about to happen, but then it never really did. The beauty is in the simplicity..Grab some snacks and prepare yourself for a thrill-a-minute.

A Story of Lady Bouncer, Tamannah Worked Hard to act as Haryanvi, her accent and the body Language thumbs up to that.

. Movie pace is bit slow but it's okay.

Screenplay is dull.

Sourabh Shukla have great timing, even his small moments in screen is good.
