The more things change, the more they stay the same... a good start to a season of changes

Warning: Spoilers
That expression is a recurring theme throughout Season 5 . The story picks up where we left off the end of Season 4 with Sheldon analyzing Penny's claim that "It's not what it looks like" in true Sheldon fashion. Leonard seems disinterested in Sheldon's musings, knowing that Penny slept with Raj just after learning that Priya was moving back to India. Penny, feeling that her acting career is going nowhere, considers moving back to Nebraska until she gets a role on a new TV commercial. This episode also marks the first instance of Amy crushing on Penny, but for now seems more like envy rather than hinting Amy's a closet bisexual. All is resolved once Raj reveals nothing really happened sexually, and the 4 guys can focus on a favorite hobby of theirs-- paintball.

Raj makes a big confession. Leonard looks like he's on he ropes. Howard has been emasculated for now. Sheldon is Sheldon. And Penny is at the end of her rope. The whole gang is intact and things are very funny. The paintball thing is a master stroke.

"The Skank Reflex Analysis" was a nearly excellent season premiere of "The Big Bang Theory"

Warning: Spoilers
In a nutshell of this season's premiere of "The Big Bang Theory": After saying, "This isn't what it looks like", Penny leaves the room and Sheldon tries to figure out what she meant until Leonard tells him she was lying. Raj now thinks he and Penny are an item but after getting turned down easy, he tells nothing really happened: She just helped put on his condom and he came, that's all. Penny, not having gotten an acting assignment in a while, is considering moving back to Nebraska when she gets a call: She's in the hemorrhoid commercial! Oh, and Bernadette is pretty upset since Howard told her about Raj's having a crush on her...A hilarious beginning to this season of "The Big Bang Theory" with not a lost moment in sight. Well, maybe no mention about Howard's being given an expensive watch by Bern or Raj having moved in briefly with Sheldon but maybe those were addressed off-screen. Still, welcome back "TBBT"!

The Skank Reflex Analysis (#5.1)

Warning: Spoilers
A great start of a new season. We find out pretty fast what actually happened between Raj and Penny. Amy wanting to keep her in LA to save her social life was pretty fun. What I liked the most was how at the end Amy stayed because she got that hemorrhoid commercial. It was funny in such a ridiculous way.

Rather good opening to Season 5

Warning: Spoilers
Like I just mentioned in the subject line, this is a pretty good opening to Season 5. Honestly, there really isn't a single episode of "The Big Bang Theory" that I could think of as being a 'bad' episode. It's a very strong show in that aspect.

In this episode, I rally enjoyed the humorous back and forth conversation(s) between Amy and Penny in each of their apartments. When this episode first debuted in 2011, I thought the story that was unfolding between Penny and Raj was quite funny. However, as the seasons went on and on and on; the story changed from funny to really weird and rather disturbing when Leonard and Penny eventually wind up getting back together.

If that situation played out exactly the same irl; Leonard and Raj would've gotten into a HUGE fistfight! Also, Leonard would've NEVER gotten back with Penny bc of what happened between her and Raj. Even if both Raj and Penny told Leonard that they did NOT have coitus with each other, I HIGHLY DOUBT that Leonard would've believed them whatsoever! Leonard definitely would've thought that both Raj and Penny were just lying to cover their backs. ALSO, YET ANOTHER REASON for both Raj and Penny to lie to Leonard about what happened is because neither of them wanted to lose Leonard as a friend as a result of their drunken/impulsive actions and behaviors.

At least that's my opinion on the matter lol.

The Skank Reflex Analysis

This was a fun start to the fifth series of 'The Big Bang Theory', picking up right where the fourth finished.

It is a good example as well of how the show has developed over time. It is now much more of an ensemble, with everyone having their moment.

I could actually have done without the whole paintball plot in favour of more time focusing on the dynamics between the characters. If anything the paintball plot felt like something the show would have spent more time on in its early days. So there's still some development work to do.

Just as an example of fleshing the character of Raj out though this works well.
