Flawed but likable people in a Greek island
georgioskarpouzas30 December 2011
This second Nisos movie is as funny as the first one and some times even more. The negative aspect is that the element of surprise has worn out since everyone has been used to the hunt for the money theme and the morally ambivalent nature of the central characters. The jokes are sometimes rather crude and will not satisfy the adherents of British wit but they are funny and make you laugh. Also some very earthly and beautiful women appear in this film without being unrealistically pretty and they match very well with the island locale. It is a story about flawed human beings with whom one can empathize with, the island is wonderful and you will laugh.

Beautiful Greek comedy!

Warning: Spoilers
Having seen the first part of "Nisos", I really wanted to watch this sequel when it came out, and I was not disappointed.

To begin with, I do not think that this sequel was as good as the first movie, but this is not something too bad, because this is something common. The characters of this movie are not poorly written. We already know from the first part that most of them will do everything for money, and this spoils the surprise a bit, but if you have seen the first one, it will not be a problem at all.

The treasure hunt idea is trying to make the script more original, but it only half does the job. However, most of the lead actors do their best with the characters, and it's a film worth watching because of this. Especially Kastani and Kyriakidis give a wonderful performance, as they did in the first part of the movie.

I give a 6 out of 10, because it was somewhat predictable, but other than that, I recommend that you watch it!

Yet another example of the low point of the Greek Cinema
tankace17 April 2017
This film is the sequel of the quit enjoyable The Island, which had a fine plot and had genuinely funny lines and scenes. DIspute that the film was lacking some character development, it had too much sex scenes however it was a OK entertainment for a much more adult audience and not the usual melo-drama which plagues the cinema of my country.

As for the continuation ,the plot it was a complete mess and totally brakes the film and there are many side stories which don't join the main story-line. As for the characters in the flick apart from Vladimiros Kiriakidis, Mihalis Marinos and paradoxically Tania Tripi ,the rest of the cast are just a copy paste of their personas from the first film. Visually at list it isn't unwatchable, yes I know it is a bit cliché'e, but in Greece we have beautiful islands, sea and sky and that helps the film to look nice.

Dispute that a turd after you policed it and crafted in to funny shapes it may look nice, but it's still a turd! And this is the case to and honestly I feel disappointed from the cinema of my home country because since the eighties we produce more bad flicks than good ,much much more.

Over all ,don't waste your time with this turd, if you want some good Greece comedy go watch Vegos or Sto Para Pente.
