definitely not my last one
GSK238 May 2022
Why do I keep going back? I keep saying to myself "never watch these direct to video action crapfests again!" Yet, I do.

I guess that's why they keep making these. They cost nothing to make, there's no real talent to be seen behind or in front of the camera and the end results are always pathetic and dumb.

However, I suppose, a six pack of really lame beer does the trick. But, really, again, I ask myself "why not just watch something with a tiny bit more value?"

Unable to finish - so incredibly awful
On_The_Mark9 May 2022
Just remember, anyone with any kind of camera can make a "movie" nowadays.

This is no different. Terrible acting, dumbest script ever, bad CGI that your grandma and After Effects can do and stock shots of disasters do not make a good movie.

The worst thing about these types of no-budget movies is they think having their bad "actors" have a lot of dialog somehow improves the movie. I realize they're trying to fill in 90 minutes so a lot has to be meaningless exposition but my God, if you invest in one thing in these bad no budget movies, invest in a writer. It's a given your "actors" will be awful, at least give them some somewhat interesting dialog to read.

Terrible and unwatchable. Note, one person did give this a ten in here. That person has one "review" to their credit. This one. Guess what movie that person worked on. I wish IMDB would be a kibosh on people giving tens to their own "movies" in here.

Avoid.

All time low for The Asylum...
paul_haakonsen9 May 2022
When I stumbled upon this 2022 movie titled "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse", I have to admit that I was immediately drawn to the movie's cover/poster. It looked really good. But at the same time I had that voice at the back of my head going 'low budget disaster movie'. But as this movie from writers Geoff Meed, Lauren Pritchard and Joe Roche, being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to watch it.

And when I saw the two dreaded words, The Asylum, pop up on the screen, then expectations went from some to none. Yeah, The Asylum isn't really known for the top notch movies, though they do have some fair enough movies among their catalogue.

Truth be told, then "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" embodied everything that summarizes The Asylum; amazingly dubious and stupid storyline, natural disasters that seem to single in on a small group of people, questionable CGI effects, rigid acting, overly predictable storyline. So yeah, at least you know what you are getting here. But "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" is a bad movie, a really, really bad movie.

The storyline in "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" was just laughably bad. And it simply amazes me that three writers could collectively put together such a heap of rubbish, and presumably not even one went 'wait a minute, this is just out of control'. In fact, I would actually go as far as saying that "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" is a top contender for being one of the worst movies from The Asylum.

I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, aside from Dominique Swain. And truth be told, then it is just very difficult to take her serious in the role of a military officer. And her wooden performance in "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" just didn't help win me over.

Now, "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" is a natural disaster movie of sorts, so of course having proper special effects and CGI is crucial. But the special effects in "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" were a disaster in themselves, even for a movie from The Asylum then this was bad.

My rating of "4 Horsemen: Apocalypse" lands on a one out of ten stars.

reminds me of the old syfy movies
zbow-7620121 September 2022
Its a stupid movie done so bad its not even remotely good just like all the old syfy movies, that is what makes me like it so much, sometimes "B" movies is what we need, we need stupid to escape the politics, and real world issues where all tired of. Acting is not the best, camera work isnt the best, story needs work but all in all i enjoyed it for the stupidity that it brought. This movie is not the worst i have seen. I have seen far far worse on syfy. So give it a watch if you miss those syfy original days.

Are we sure SYFY didnt do this one?

Go into this movie knowing its a "B" movie and the stupid wont bother you any at all.

Not so horrible
alessandrobuia10 September 2022
Excuse for the not best English because I'm not American.

I Decided to see this movie because I was drawn to the quite Interesting title. But when I learned that it was an Asylum movie and the reviews weren't exactly the best, my expectations dropped. I have seen worse from the asylum like atlantic rim, transmophers, titanic 2 and almighty thor. But when I started watching it I saw that the CGI was sometimes poor, sometimes it was good and the acting wasn't that bad, so overall I also liked the film because this was an interesting idea. Recommended only for those who like the genre or low budget movies.

Ughhhhh

I tried, I really tried to get through this movie. I mean you have to love when Christian mythology meets Rambo it's gotta be a good flick right? Lol NAHHH....it was horrific, you could tell the actors tried to do what they could but come on. The writing is abysmal, the direction basically non-existent how did they even stand a chance. If this is what's left of entertainment then I welcome their mythical "end of days".

Low budget nonsense
stevelivesey6710 May 2022
I have a policy of giving low budget movies like this an extra point from the '1' I would normally give. As a 'well done for getting it made'.

This is still terrible and unwatchable. It would still be awful with a £200 million budget (see Moonfall)

"I need that satellite!"
nannda-2471010 May 2022
Hahahaha, I think one actor said this line at least 10 times in first 30 minutes of the movie. So so bad movie... I am so sorry I watched this. I should check and read other reviews before. I can't believe is possible to record something so bad in 2022.

So Bad
shadowofhero-465199 May 2022
Wow great movie. Those good actors and the dialogues. The hammer In earnest. This is the biggest junk I've seen in a long time. So many bad actors in one place and these stupid dialogues don't even pass as a B-movie anymore.

I liked it!
xq-0852722 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
First I have to admit that I am a sucker for cheesy disaster movies. Second, this is not the worst acting I've seen in a movie. It is pretty bad, which just adds to the fun.

Third the plot is so ridiculous, how can you take it seriously?

Fourth the handling of the apocalypse just makes me shake my head in wonder. Not having memorized the book of revelation, I had to look up the seals - the "man of faith" refers to a couple of them, completely out of order. Seven seals list: White horse Red horse Black horse Pale horse Souls crying out from under the altar Earthquake, sun & moon, stars fall Silence in heaven But the main thing I liked was that the Christians in the movie were shown as compassionate, educated heroes instead of the loony toons we're usually portrayed as.

I thought this movie was fun to watch, but you need to approach it with low expectations. I bet the other reviewers criticize Hallmark movies for being sentimental. What did you expect?

Terrible direction...
info-754399 May 2022
Geoff please return to acting!

This is an example of the worst CG.

The plot left a lot to be desired.

Although the first review, which I have determined was written by someone associated with this production, got me to watch. This is a fair warning, don't watch this unless you want to see what not to do, in making a movie.

All of the actors had potential but no direction.

It was the mushrooms all along
gacsogergely21 May 2022
So, global End of The World: earthquakes, storms, even locusts.

The basic setup in the movie itself is: 12 hours until a volcano will errupt so big in Barzil, it'll blow up the world. What causes this? Mushrooms. Mushrooms, that will be finished of with an oxygen-destroyer.

On the technical side the movie is not bad, kinda what you can expect from the budget (point for using some cheap drone to make some shots), and acting is actualy good. But the mushrooms stomp all. Mushrooms that cause earthquakes. It's not even funny, because the movie takes itself seriously.

Oh, and the 4 horsemen? Entirely clickbait. Someone halllucinates them, once, because of mushrooms.

adyrzv29 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
If was possible , I would give it MINUS 1 . Absolute waste of time!

I seen cheap budget movies before , but at least they make some sense , while this doesn't!

Just the typical american bs where they save the world by dropping a bomb somewhere! I mean like really ???? You stop a chain of natural disasters by bombing a lake ? Wow! American stupidity never ceise to amaze me!

VLDL has better production value
ohsomeonesin15 May 2022
Youtube channel Viva La Dirt League has better visual effects, perfect stories, professional acting. Asylum people should be shameless, I guess... And these people are still making more money then, VLDL does. Very sad facts.

Good idea...bad actresses!
ronyoung-935459 November 2023
The 2 leading actresses, the general and the doctor, seem like they are in need of some extra acting courses. One acts like her teeth are going to fall out and the doctor acts like shes coming off of a fix. The military guys played their part well except for the one not following orders. Dakota did a good job for her part. She actually seemed normal. The General does not act so emotional like a child throwing a tantrum. Better actors and actresses could have made this a much better movie. My wife and I love watching the low budget ones but this one needs to have some of the actors/actresses pay to be in it.

Why? Why?
By-TorX-119 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
While the film's poster promises some kind of supernatural biblical tale, the reality is that it is yet another Asylum disaster narrative focusing on a super volcano in Brazil that also sets off all manner of storms, lightning strikes, earthquakes and even locust swarms. As usual, the disasters (courtesy of stock footage) are introduced from the outset at breakneck speed and a trio of scientists, protected by a squad of US peacekeeping soldiers, must stop the super volcano, and its associated geo-thermal larks, before it destroys the whole planet in an orgy of ropey CGI. Of course, they are successful and the dire natural threat to the entire world is easily taken care of courtesy of one helicopter with some explosives on board crashing into a lake. I can only assume that Asylum films exert some form of mesmerism as I have no idea why I keep watching these farces. They never reach the heights of so-bad-they-are-good levels, just bad (although this one has some very strange voice dubbing at times and one of the scientists seems to find the whole disaster-filled venture to be quite a jolly wheeze as she is always smiling), but they seem to possess some siren quality in their wretchedness as I keep watching them (although Age of Ice almost finished me). However, this film does weirdly add madness-inducing fungus to the mix, so there is at least some variation to the scenes of storms and urban looting (and which also gives rise to an hallucinatory vision of said 4 Horsemen), all avidly watched by General Norris (played by Dominque Swain) on a series of TV screens in the Command Centre (that are able to show various global disaster scenes in remarkable clarity and numerous close-ups), but The Last of Us it most certainly is not.

Really REALLY bad
wsowell-8239413 November 2023
Decent enough storyline and plot, but any potential this movie had was derailed by the horrible acting and ridiculous graphics/effects. Also the whole humanity saves humanity from the wrath of God is just completely unrealistic and definitely not biblically sound. The comedy relief missed the mark, but the moments that were meant to be serious provided the best laughs. I literally created an account just to warn people not to waste their time on this film. I've gotten through some real dumpster fires, but this just might top them all. I feel like I need to shower now just to was the stink of this film off me before bed. God is not pleased and neither am I. What a waste of a Sunday night.

Bad, even for a B-movie.
hatterasjeepguy24 October 2023
I love science fiction movies, even a lot of B-movies of the genre. This movie basically went nowhere. The acting is so bad that it is pretty much unwatchable. About 50 minutes into the 86 minute movie, I simply couldn't watch any more of it. Even Dominique Swain was unwatchable in this movie, which is something I never would have imagined saying prior to this. Seeing her portray a US military general is casting at its absolute worst. I have no idea what the budget was for this movie, but if they paid Ms. Swain more than a thousand bucks, they got ripped off. If you really like science fiction, stay away from this movie because it will just make you feel sad for the genre.

This movie is like having you cake and eating it two!
buttyfrench28 February 2024
If you want to eat 2 cakes but still have cake this movie really delivers. The action in this movie is nonstop and it really seems to be real when they fights and punch and shoots. The guy that they call Tobias Pahloosh is one of they best actors that I ever seen on a TV. He can do MMA and karate and boxing. The sex in the movie was good and the girls know how to please a man. We watch this with a ton of guys we was stoked to see the girly bumpy bits on big screen! The plot of the movie is that they world can be destroyed by a nuclear missile that is coming from Mars. They Mars people hate the Earth because global warming is killing the universe. These men must stop the Martians and still please they women in bed. It is a great movie!

Total cheese fest
adamslaura-606952 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Well, if I were not sick in bed, I would not have given this movie more than five minutes... But as I was sick in bed and have not watched a cheesy movie yet today I decided to pick this one.

My astute colleagues have already said all the things wrong with this movie. The only thing I would duplicate and reiterate is how ridiculous it is for a Christian, to make a Christian movie about Christian saving mankind from God's wrath. Saving man FROM God???

As a Christian, I recognize that the apocalypse is the outpouring of God's wrath upon deserving sin. And only by grace are any of us saved from God's wrath,

But... we are also saved TO God and FOR a new heaven, as well as a world purged from sin and the ramifications of the Fall. Paradise awaits us!

Why in the world when we know God's wrath is appointed (by God) and it is happening (from God) and is His proportional response to the sin of the world at the appropriator time, AND...knowing that it announces the end of satan's treasonous reign, would ANYONE think God would be pleased to be asked to stop that?

Even Creation itself groans awaiting its redemption. For heaven sake...(pun intended) read your Bible!!

Pray for the end!
gpwatson-1951810 December 2023
Of the world I mean, if your watching this utter garbage. As you won't be able to watch all this dross. Whoever decided to back this keich and put their own cash in must be mad beyond saving.

The producer and director should be demoted to be the assistants in charge of the TV remote control in their care home.

The set is wrong. The actors are so wooden they wear varnish instead of make up, the CGI reminds me of jet-set Willie (Google it). Earthquake courtesy of shakey camera. Clearly the fungus that appears are carrots upside down in a pile of paper mache. And the plot is as thin as Amazon's pay check for this crap.

This movie looks like a well produced TV show, the CGI is on par with the video games some twenty years ago. And the actors are those you usually see in Oscar, yeah, those hired to clap hands.
