Who is looking small now? Not me, not me.

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode of the final season works for me; you simply have to ignore the sideshows, i.e. Captain Raydor. At the very least, we were saved from the annoying parents, speaking of sideshows and a waste of time. A suggestion to a script re-write, regarding Raydor and her investigation, leave her and it out, i.e. off camera, just a reference in passing as it progresses. Let Brenda deal with the present crime solving and the other will continue to fester until it explodes or just simply goes away. Essentially, there will be a time to focus on the LAPD law suit Raydor is working.

Besides the discovery of the shootings of several people, men and women, there was a briefcase of substantial cash found at the crime scene. Provenza tells the Detectives, gang members, empty vodka bottles, joints in ash trays, half-naked girls; it's like a murder had to happen. Brenda gives the body count as seven victims shot dead, five men and two women, all found on the main level of a large home, the call to ES at two AM unanswered until the maid service came that morning. The dead girls had business cards and the guys all had identification. Gabriel recognizes two of the men as sons of church members he knew, last name Brooks. David is quick to state the two were not gang members, despite contradictions to the evidence in the living room, i.e. vodka, drugs, rap music playing when they entered, strippers, etc. The Brooks' men David Gabriel recognizes are brothers, their father is a deacon at his church. The rapper is guessed as an up-and-comer by Det. Sanchez, the house owned by someone Tao is going to research. The foam on the floor is going to SID for identification. There were no casings found, indicating a professional hit. Under the bed is a silver briefcase containing seven-hundred-fifty-thousand, verified by the property police, per Lieutenant Flynn. Gabriel is sent to notify the family of the slain brothers he knew.

In the murder room, Brenda shares her thoughts, if it was a drug deal gone sideways, why murder seven people and leave the cash behind? The ladies were from out of town, different states, and the brothers Gabriel says were college graduates with music and economics backgrounds, from USC and UCLA. Tao adds, the brother Kevin, was the manager of his brother Chris, the up-and-coming rapper, referred to as C-Game; not likely gang-members. There is the increased pressure from Raydor and Delk, informing Brenda of the investigation of her decision in the Shootin'-Newton murders, where the immunity-guilty Terrell Baylor was killed by his own gang members. Terrell's mother has filed suit against the LAPD, naming names.

Brenda stares at the murder board, inquiring, where was the pizza? The delivery guy is a gang-member with a juvenile police record, reported missing from last night's delivery by his Big Pie Pizza boss. Flynn and Gabriel are sent looking for the delivery guy and Keisha Murphy's presence is wanted for an interview, being likely the last person to have seen the rapper alive. Sanchez brings in an insulated bag like the pizza man used, the bag contains foam found at the murder scene, explaining why nobody reported shots fired, it silenced the gun shots.

I love staring at her pretty little rose is a lyric sung by the dead rapper whose rose-tattoo belongs to Keisha Murphy, appearing in the video seen by the Detectives. Fritz drops by to inform Brenda the record company owner and the murder-scene-house owner is a known suspect in an FBI-LAPD investigation. Agent Howard was informed that Sanchez was looking for the owner via a phone call; the man is named Antwone Decker. Commander Taylor moves through the murder room with arrogance. Provenza exclaims, did Taylor just tell us to carry on? Flynn calls Brenda, finding the pizza delivery guy, Marcus Jackson, dead, with no shirt, no pizza bag and no pulse; likely not our shooter, quips Flynn. Total murdered is now eight.

Fritz to Brenda, if Decker is responsible, why did he kill everybody in the house, including the guy selling coke for him, and leave the money behind? Now that you pulled that stunt with his lawyer, i.e. leaving only the currency wrappers in the attaché case, Decker is going to want his $750,000 back. Brenda asks, what if I didn't have it? Do you think Antwone Decker is going to go nuts? Fritz back to Brenda, don't you want to know who told Antwone Decker that Kevin Brooks was shopping his brother to a new record label?

Decker is in an interview room with his attorney, when he speaks, the kid was a hustler, if you didn't have what he wanted, he would go elsewhere. Brenda to Decker, any idea who might have taken that cash? Oh, Mr. Decker, don't go away mad. Decker leaves the interview room in a hurry, while Brenda sits, satisfied of her accomplishment intimidating Antwone. She later has his car bugged and tailed. Brenda says the house belongs to a Florence Harmon, mother to twenty-two-year-old son DeAndre Harmon. Shots are heard from outside the Harmon house, the raid commences. Decker has Keisha against a wall and he tries to have Harmon drowned in the toilet demanding his money from both.

Brenda explains her actions with the house raid, I needed to know who Decker thought stole his cash; the fact we caught him in the act of attempted murder is just a huge bonus. Pope intervenes among Delk, Raydor and Taylor, I suggest you let Chief Johnson wrap up these murders so you can look like heroes at her expense; I will go my merry way. Delk chimes in with eight other homicides? Brenda responds, well, we won't know if you keep me standing here.

Keisha is crying in the interview room, I swear, I didn't take Antwone's money, I'd be a fool trying to rip him off. Brenda declares, we know you were with Chris at Antwone's house. Keisha explains, Chris told me he was getting some girls, he wanted me to stay, but I got mad, plus I knew Kevin was going around Antwone's back, I got scared and ran because I knew it was Antwone when I learned what happened yesterday. He knew I used to be with Andre, he was going to kill us both. Brenda sees Keisha's rose tattoo as she stands; she recalls the video with the same tattoo.

Brenda has DeAndre Harmon in an interview room, offering him two papers for his signature, one acknowledging Antwone Decker was trying to kill him. Harmon responds, signing one of the documents, I ain't accusing Decker of nothing. Where is Keisha at? Is she all right? He acknowledges the relationship of Chris and Kevin from his school and neighborhood, responding with, I know those dudes. Brenda inquires why he was absent from the party. I'm curious why you weren't at that house the other night celebrating? Gabriel adds his comments to DeAndre, too. Harmon answers both the Chief and the Sergeant by passing on all the festivities because he has moved on with his life and former girlfriend. Brenda looks directly at DeAndre, exchanging questions, such as, so, Chris and Kevin, they were never Cripps? Harmon is laughing, you kidding, hell no. Brenda moves the envelope, C-Game kind of pushed you away and then he stole your girlfriend. DeAndre's response, she told you that? Brenda lashes back with no, C-Game did, in the lyric to his single. Gabriel quotes the lyric, it's to move on, I'm the new game, you're a has been. Brenda continues her pursuit, not a lotta respect in those words, not a lot of loyalty. Gabriel and Brenda take turns reading the lyric which demeans Harmon. Brenda ends her inquisition stating, he's humiliating you DeAndre. I'm having that gun we found at your house tested just the same, and if it matches the bullets we found in C-Game, you are going away for eight counts of murder. Finally, DeAndre cracks, he has had enough, blurting out, while standing, you should have seen him when I pulled the trigger, he wasn't C-game then. Who is looking small now? Not me, not me. Harmon admits to killing everyone in the room and not leaving a cartridge anywhere. Obviously Brenda eliminated all other suspects once Decker had given away his hand; it was his money, and Harmon wanted no part of crossing Decker, just revenge against his rival for his old girlfriend.

This episode closes as Chief Delk did get a chance to thank Major Crimes for a job well done on their most recent murder investigation and subsequent guilt admission by the perpetrator. The multiple murders are solved, where he thanks Brenda for seizing the moment by coercing the murderer to boast about his mass fatality-spree. A planned reorganization announcement by the new Chief of Police begins, but he experiences an aneurism before he can make any proclamation of his changes.

The episode has key dialogue hinting at the source of why the multiple murders, the perpetrator and the future backdrop. There were no casings recovered, substantial money was left, the video showed the rose-tattoo-girlfriend being interviewed, DeAndre Harmon was sought by Antwone Decker who Harmon respected and would not cross. Jealousy is most prevalent as the choir boys begin their career upward, and the former beau seeks deadly revenge for their success.

This episode is strong throughout with guest characters playing it to perfection. Delk is gone at the end but Raydor is not going away.

This show has been running out of gas for the past 2 seasons so now the writers have decided to shake up the whole cast and make a new show ... well, sharon rayder ie mary mcconnell is no match for kyra or brenda, so i guess i'll be dropping out and watching more sensible shows instead
