Heart Shattering (tv)

I'm not a catastrophe freak but first, i feel close to this country as i like its traditions, modernity and exoticism and second, i wanted to understand how it happened…

This documentary is a collage of personal videos of the quake and then the tsunami all over the island. There is nearly no comments, so no explanations but at the end, the pictures talk by themselves : if the 6 minutes quake was mostly about vibrations and knocking over rooms (or sadly ceilings), the tsunami that arrived 30 minutes later was 4 incredible waves that uproot, pushes and crash everything in their path. The result are unbelievably desolating : it's worst that a bomb detonation as everything is devastated with endless piles of destruction. The cars, homes, streets, buildings are destroyed while their inhabitants are up the hills. The documentary stops the next day and we really have this feeling of infinite numbness : if families are happy to be alive, they have no more to go on… So my most sincere thoughts go to the victims and their relatives and i hope they have started anew. However this people is highly honorable because they build some resistant buildings and they are so brave and courageous and don't rush in panic
