Warning: Spoilers
The eleventh episode of "Highschool of the Dead" features the long awaited reappearance of Mr. Shido, the perverted, Mansonian schoolteacher. Trouble is, it's kind of an anticlimax.

The show hasn't been as enjoyable since the group came to Saya's parents' house. There are a lot more characters, all of them adults, but we share the teenage protagonists' annoyance with the way they look down on them for their age.

The darkly foreshadowed return of Shido is really only used to develop the character of Rei a little more. You see, Shido's father was a crooked politician who had business with Rei's father, and held her back a year to hit at him.

So when Shido shows up, they just turn him away. Big whoop. His first appearance in this episode is so diabolical, how could they dismiss him so easily?

There's also something in the episode about Rei finally falling in love with Takashi, his love for her apparently no longer unrequited. He shows feelings of disbelief toward her, and I don't blame him. It took her long enough. Why would she only decide she loves him now?

The show is still at least pretty good but this has been my least favourite episode so far. It was anticlimactic and not that interesting. It's weird how depressing the show got once the adults came into it a couple of episodes ago.

And now I'm up to the last episode. I'd be surprised if it's going to end with a bang, even though this episode ended with the anticipation of one - talk of missiles launched and Armageddon arriving.
