Good show for romantic adventurists!
pumpkinpie22478 June 2012
Watching a reality show that is based on romance is a guilty pleasure of mine, so it was only natural for me to gravitate towards this particular show. I didn't think I would like it when I saw it advertised during season 1 last year but I actually enjoyed it very much! Love In The Wild, IMO, is a mixture of The Bachelore/Bachelorette, Survivor and Paradise Hotel all wrapped up into one show. What I like about it is that the contestants are not forced to get engaged at the end (The Bachelor) and there is a lot of adventure built right in to their challenges - which are sometimes difficult making them exciting to watch. Plus, romance DOES happen! I think the fact that 2 couples from season 1 are STILL together and in love is proof that this show can actually work in building a solid, romantic, lasting relationship. Replacing last seasons host with Jenny this season was a brilliant move. Jenny is hilarious!

Enjoyable guilty-pleasure program; a cross between Survivor and a dating show

Warning: Spoilers
It's a little surprising that this lasted only two seasons, when many similar products go on for years and years. Filmed in Costa Rica for its 1st season and in the Dominican Republic for its 2nd, it's an enjoyable blend of exotic scenery, physical challenges, weekly eliminations (but only with a bare minimum of strategy), flirting, kissing, connecting and clashing. The 1st season is the better one, thanks to a more engaging cast (especially Heather, who is gorgeous, athletic, funny, smart, compassionate - the perfect woman). The 2nd season adds some rather unnecessary twists, and also switches hosts; while Jenny McCarthy is hot as hell, she is also more intrusive than the laid-back guy they had in the 1st season. What does elevate "Love In The Wild" above most other matchmaking shows (I assume here - I don't watch them!) is that a handful of the final couples seem to genuinely fall in love with each other and be ready to commit to a long-term relationship; in fact, a quick google check reveals that three or four couples who did well in this show are now married and some of them even have kids together! Inspiring, in a way. *** out of 4.

Hot guys, gorgeous women, beautiful locations...what's not to like?
preppy-38 June 2012
A reality dating show. They get seven men and seven women. Naturally they're all young, good-looking and have nice bodies:) They bring them to an exotic location (Dominican Republic this year), have them pair up and put them through tests (such as finding some treasure or such) which include hiking, swimming and running around. Each show has two people eliminated--but here's the catch. The women chose what man they want.

I hate reality shows but I do like this. The men are hot, the locations are beautiful and even host Jenny McCarthy (who I usually hate) is fun. Yes they have the people back-stabbing each other and making rude comments about other contestants but that's normal for this type of show. Nothing great but good eye candy:)

fun twist on survivor
kevinorrell9914 July 2011
This show is definitely as stereotypical as all other reality shows. However it brings a refreshing twist. The cynical themes of survivor are replaced with a funner atmosphere. Also, the players in the game are identifiable people, not just actresses and models in it to boost a television career. However, they are all way above average in good looks which makes it sur-real but is half-expected in a new show thats trying to gain a fan base. It is fun to watch the couples fight and/or come together in the challenges. I actually find myself rooting for the couple of Ben and Brandee because they make a pretty cool team, in a sort of love-hate way.I am interested to see how relationships develop and how the drama plays out as the show goes on. Definitely fun to watch.

Great Concept For A Love Match Show
PalmBeachG13 November 2023
At first, when I first saw the trailer I thought it was going to be another ridiculous love match show, but to the contrary it turned out to be a really good concept. The contestants got a chance to see not only if they had a love spark with each other (being assigned to sleep in the same cabins) but if they are compatible in real life stress situations when they are put out into the wild for competitions all day together. The show, located in Costa Rica had beautiful scenery which made the show even more enjoyable to watch. The guys personalities really came to light when some of them stepped up to be really manly in tough situations while another wuss went running and screaming at the site of an ant, so the girls found out really quick who they would really want for a husband. Some were so competitive that they started yelling at their partners for not being athletic enough and others would help like teamwork. I didn't gibe more stars because after awhile each challenge started to seem a little repetitive running through the jungle with partners disagreeing with each other and having the same conflicts it seemed and also the winner of the show was quite predictable from the beginning.

racist comment to the locals
ciano_benita12 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
if you'll review the episode one of the guy mentioned about "why would i want to swim with the locals?". well, why are you there if you don't want to meet the locals? Get out!!, racist!!!Obviously you casts are pre warned of where you're going. Who do you think you are? Wrap up and go. pack up and run!!!! as fast as you can. Fly and never go back because for sure you'll never be welcomed again. For sure who ever had chosen you regrets you're there. Grow up! nineteenth century's gone.

i got nothing else to comment on apart from the beautiful scenery. Relaxing atmosphere. Nice views, . just like a glamorous version of the I'm a celebrity get me out of here apart from the racist guy.
