First Details on Utero: “Writer/Director Bryan Coyne’s (Harvard Park and Incarnate) new film Utero started production this week in Los Angeles.
Independently financed by Coinopflix, the movie stars Jessica Cameron who is also producing along with her Truth or Dare partner, Jonathan Higgins. Former Platinum Studios Exec (Cowboys and Aliens, Dylan Dog: Dead Of Night) Richard Marincic also serves as a producer on the film.

If you are going to be in Britain this month, stop by the British Horror Film Festival. Located in Leicester Square the weekend of October 18th, the festival will screen three feature films, and a dozen shorts. Support indie film in an intimate festival setting with Fortune Cookie Prophecies directed by Henry Li; In the House of Flies from director Gabriel Carrer; and Entities, directed by Steven Stone. Look for new shorts by Nicholas Humphries, Karen Lam, Mark Fisher, Gigi Saul Guerrero, and Toby Meakins. And be sure to stay for the awards ceremony and after party.

The British Horror Film Festival have announced their fantastic line-up for this year’s genre festival. Features include the UK chiller Entity starring Dervla Kirwan, Charlotte Riley and Branko Tomovic directed by Steve Stone, Canadian thriller Fortune Cookie Prophecies starring Emily Alatalo directed by Henry Li and In the House of Flies from director Gabriel Carrer. The British Horror Film Festival is in its fourth year and will take place Friday 18th & Saturday 19th October 2013 at the Empire Cinema, Leicester Square in London.

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Osiris Entertainment. Director/writer: Henry Li. Cast: Emily Alatalo, John Maillet, Adam Kolozsvari, Amanda Strachan and Vivian Cheung. Fortune Cookie Prophecies is a film which was completed in 2011. This title was shown in a few film festivals, before being picked up by Osiris Entertainment. The Fortune Cookie Prophecies is the first feature film from Henry Li. And, this title deals with an ancient Chinese curse, which plagues two couples on an island retreat. Well written and full of mystery, the Fortune Cookie Prophecies is a fun time spent with a ghoulish spirit. Like most indie thrillers, the characters in this piece are few. Osiris Entertainment is set to release another indie thriller. The title, this time, is called the Fortune Cookie Prophecies. And, this film blends Chinese mythology with the supernatural. In the story, four friends head out to a cabin for a fun weekend. They share stories over dinner, while opening their fortune cookies. Each message in their dessert promises the reader an early death. Then, characters begin to succumb to the prophecy. Can the survivors change their fate? Fortune Cookie Prophecies will release on DVD June 4th and the trailer for the film is below. The clip shows two couples pursed by a spirit. The blood flows and indie thriller fans are encouraged to take a look at the reel, inside. Release Date: June 4th, 2013 (DVD). Director/writer: Henry Li.
