Decent, but not at the level of e.g. Forbrydelsen / The Killing or Bro/Bron / The Bridge

/refers to all Irene Huss films/

Scandinavian countries are famous for actual gender equality and thus is no wonder that police thrillers with leading female inspectors have come into life. The Irene Huss series (12 episodes) was made in 2007-2011 and has enjoyed modest popularity. Mrs. Huss is pleasant (amiably - perhaps too much - played by Angela Kovács), but apparently her character and the scripts behind are not so distinct; as the author of the book Helene Tursten was a nurse and dentist, most of scenes, activities and characters are hospital-related - not to everyone's taste as hospitals are associated with different events. The length - about 1,5 hours - is perhaps too much, 1 hour or so would keep the tensions high throughout the film.

As for the characters, then co-policemen Jonny Blom and Fredrik Stridh are more versatile (well played by Dag Malmberg and Eric Ericson, respectively), Mrs. Huss' family, however, seems just to be a "mandatory" part in the film, arising from the total logic, Irene could easily be single as well...

An above-average spending of time, comparable to the Danish Anna Pihl series.
