Superb storytelling!!!

As an educator, I am deeply impressed by the way the film portrays our reality. These are things that we have to deal with every single day. I had such a good laugh while watching the movie. Not necessarily because it's funny, but because it's a true representation of what challenges we face every day. We add humor to cope with the seriousness of it all. The film is a brilliant representation of what happens in our classrooms, schools and broader communities on a daily basis. It is relatable and authentic. The actors have done an outstanding job in their respective roles. I recommend that everyone watches this movie. JOB WELL DONE!!

Firstly, this is a film anyone who knows SA and more specifically, Cape Town, can appreciate and relate to, as did I. The strory is clever and encompasses many themes: the contrast in educational standards between rich and poor (once white or black), the breakdown in services, violence in the suburbs, white privilege, racism on more subtle levels, like brown and black, gender norms...etc etc the list goes on. In fact the plot is so laden, that ultimately perhaps too ambitious. It is a low budget movie and the acting, with some notable exceptions, is not really up to scratch. However the content is rich and varied, treated with some humour and colourful language and if one gets into the right mindset and accepts the faults, it is an enjoyable and intelligent watch.

SOGGY MARSHMELLOW

The title creates something more like the very 1st scene of the movie.

& I think due to budget, the whole project became more like a rough draft of an actual idea.

The editing is quite bad, it messed up on a lot of scenes in terms of transition It's like every scene starts after they say action instead of fluid scenes.

Then some scenes just don't make sense at all which made me scratch my head & say yeah it's a movie but at least be realistic coz in a normal school this won't even happen even if unicorns flew over a rainbow.

Gave 3 stars coz some jokes did hit the mark & the ending was indeed epic Just wish there was enough budget to cater to what this movie needed.

No storyline

Warning: Spoilers
The film doesn't make any sense. They express how the cape flats kids express themselves but there's no actual plot. About the girl that passed away, they should've gave her a proper back story as we didn't know who she was and couldn't express any empathy towards her. The exchange students seems so unrealistic and wished they did it better. The title of the movie only made sense in the beginning but throughout the movie it didn't. The singing part was just so weird and didn't fit in. It's like the producer didn't take the script serious. The actors were great but the editing was horrible. There was no flow.

Lesson of the Day

What a South African movie, the characters are people we can all relate to. We all had these friends in class but the stories told and interactions is what gave it life. Real problems, real emotions and absolutely raw. A must see for South Africans, and a great insight for International viewing.

The humour is very tongue in cheek, but works very well and you will be thinking about some of the things said for days after.

The representation of the melting pot of society all in one class, delivers a beautiful yet wide eye conversations between each student is spectacular.

Truly a fantastic movie and well done to these actors and directors and writers and the rest of the staff. Great movie.

Funny and Realistic!

This movie is ultimately realistic and quite common to the problems South African students face at school.

The acting was exceptional, despite it being a low budget the film absolutely highlighted on social issues faced by people who live in South Africa.

This movie, surely does give a visual insight to what happens in South Africa. And a certain perspective.

I've watched this movie 3 times, in the times I've watched it, it's only been funnier.

This could be the movie for you if you have a knack for comedy.

This is ultimately a raw South African movie, I've absolutely enjoyed it. Such movies need to be made more often.
