I give points for trying
aychat8 September 2023
I understand the main logic behind the plot. All are very cliche and common personalities we all have around us. But the missing thing is the emotions which is mainly the only reason behind the types of decisions given in the movie. There has to be a more story behind every character and their relationship so it feels more realistic. But it's an interactive movie /game afterall, shouldn't be taken too seriously. I feel kind of glad that these type of common uncertainties before marriage/ during relationships are out in the open now. Many may find themselves in the show and it may provide them a new way of thinking.

Good concept
amberdonjacour-1174219 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So I liked the concept of this movie. The love triangle between 3 guys, she needs to choose who is her favorite. But than I wanted to go for a good career and also for Jack but that was not possible, what felt a bit weird. Because why can't she have the singing career and also be with another guy than the person she is singing with. So of course you have a lot of options, but it was not endless. Paul btw had really bad chemistry and their kissing felt so weird that from the beginning on that was a no go for me. So ended up with a career and no man, which was for a movie about love anticlimactic but still the best option in my opinion.

This choose your own adventure rom-com kind of falls flat.
cgvsluis8 September 2023
I don't know how I feel about this new "choose your own adventure" format. I will say that the romantic comedy and maybe a mystery are the two genres that might lend themselves to this format.

I watched two different endings to this romance, one where Cami ends up with perfect Paul and the other where she ends up with rocker Rex, which I don't feel is much of a spoiler since I assume there is also an ending where she ends up with the one that got away Jack. I can't say I had strong feelings about either ending or any of the characters really. Which leads me to what I think was lost in this "choose your own adventure" format...time wasn't spent developing the characters or their romance. It left everything feeling flat and cliched. Maybe the film needs to be longer in order to develop the romance and still allow you to make choices? Either way this film suffered versus benefitted, coming across as very juvenile and unfinished.

I think it was a cute film to try out this new format on, so if you just want to see how the choose your own adventure works...this is an easy no brainer way to do it, but otherwise this is not a recommendation from me.

I did like a couple of Cami's wardrobe pieces, particularly that great yellowy orange she wore.

Didn't Love
butterfly_skull31 August 2023
Cami is a terrible person which leads to an unrelatable movie plot and a lackluster experience.

The basic plot of the experience is help Cami cheat on her loving and committed boyfriend for the past 3 years, which lets be real here, that's gross Netflix. Even if you pick the boyfriend centric options it still leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

The acting by the three gentlemen suitors is pretty good but they mainly coast on their good looks. Being a fan of all three actors previous works and knowing what they are capable of this what's a major disappointment.

Overall I'm choosing not to love this...

Good to watch if you need to watch something mindless and cheesy
izabellaboolie-6000831 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It seems that the choices you make don't actually have a lasting impact on the end result for who Cami chooses anyway. None of the guys seem to have any chemistry with the lead actress and none of them are great options. It also doesn't make sense why she'd uproot her long term relationship with a guy that has nothing wrong with him anyway. There's no major conflicts and the plot doesn't really move forward or go anywhere. If there's nothing else to watch on Netflix then this is your coco. There's definitely better rom come to watch. If you want something that makes you think I recommend about time.

choose your own boredom
gehete-409496 September 2023
I had low expectations after the first few shots of the self involved clearly narcissistic main character appears. It is a romantic comedy. The main character who is bound to her boy friend is weighing her romantic options after reuniting with a childhood friend and a rock star client. They both entice her to choose between different romantic paths. So ultimately you have 3 options, choosing the adventurous rock star path, the.path of making the world a better place with the environmentalist childhood friend or sticking with your boy friend. The whole experience bored me out of my mind as I cruised through very predictable scenarios. It is bad because it is shallow, from character to story. This one is a miss.

Lighthearted and good fun
rswm31 August 2023
An interesting concept - having some say in the story narrative. You could rewatch the movie for an entirely different outcome.

The main character has 3 potential suitors and you can choose what to do at key moments....for example to meet with them or not. The 3 suitors seem to offer either commitment, risk, or revisiting 1st love. I imagine there is a choice to end up alone too. Sometimes the choices you make lead to unexpected outcomes, which is similar to real life I guess.

Quirky, fun concept.

One negative is that you have to be quick with your choices, otherwise it will choose for you.

Romanticizing disloyal actions in a relationship
kaisilva-1860917 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The idea behind the movie is a good one, but the execution was very flawed. The protagonist being a woman who is the love interest of three different men makes the movie feel unoriginal. The main character is basically a cheater who can't keep it in her pants. She has a loyal and well driven man who wants to put a ring on her finger and she thinks the best thing to do is jeopardize the relationship because her childhood fling came back home and she cant do her job properly in the workplace. Netflix is doing horrible job by making this seem normal in the real world. I hate the main character and my girlfriend is showing me the evil in women everyday while she picked the wrong choices during this film.

Very interesting way of producing!

Warning: Spoilers
Choosing the fate of Cami was quite interesting! I tried all 3 different endings - I didn't find the ending where she chose herself. Let me explain about my decision a bit more:

Cami and Rex wouldn't really work long-term. Personally I think that it would just a fleeting love or interest - that she would later think on when she was older and maybe share her adventures with her kids. Cami and Rex just met! Also, Rex seems very sweet unlike the stereotype of famous people but he seems to enjoy life on the go and on his own. He doesn't have a home and every day is an adventure. He even admitted that he likes it that way. By not choosing Rex, she can focus on herself and at the same time still remain associates and maybe even friends with the fellow musician.

Cami and Jack could work but that's not certain. Personally Jack is the fantasy that we all have - to reunite with our first love. But that is just a fantasy. Cami and Jack could have tried to reconnect through the years or at least keep in touch as friends but that is no the case. This is way this option was very tempting and felt right in a way but I don't think Cami should just throw her life away for a childhood fantasy.

Now, let's talk about the choise that I actually made last. I wanted to try out the other options first before making my final decision. Cami and Paul are cliche. They have been together for what seems to be like a couple of years. They argue but not that much - they have their own sense of humor in a way and they seem to be getting along quite well. Additionally, Cami's sister and brother in law like him. Paul might be the boring and easy option but I think it's fine to play it safe and continue building her life with him. Before going to the psychic, Cami seemed to have her life figured out a bit - at least relationship wise. Meeting with Jack and Rex was just a good reminder that she should appreciate the person that she has had and still has next to her.

Bad Influence for Youngsters
BerkayKuscu11 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Since when is it normal to cheat on your relationship? Why did anyone decide to come up with such a plot? The protagonist depicts women as unreliable and emotionless. It is definitely a problematic image of women.

This girl is in a serious relationship and yet, she falls for two different guys in the same day. Every time we choose the option that keeps her relationship normal, she acts as if we should have gone with the other choices and let her cheat on her boyfriend. This is not normal.

Quality-wise, there is no depth in any scenario that you choose. The male characters are a little bit out of fashion for what women find attractive, but they act OK. The leading actress is also acting quite well based on the terrible script given to her.

Overall, not even worth to try. Not only a waste of time but also a wrong message to younger audience.

Interactive is FUN!
BondJaneBond2 September 2023
I watched this through the first time choosing everything the polar opposite of what I did in real life just for fun. You can choose the fun choice instead of the "sure thing"- clean-cut guy who adores you, is wealthy, and your family loves him. And whatever you choose it's only a movie and doesn't change a thing so it's risk-free fun! Then I watched it again and chose differently. I'd like to see more films like this. The possibilities are endless and it would be a fun movie to watch with a party full of friends, drinks, and snacks. Bottomline, there are no wrong choices in life, only different choices with different outcomes.

amusing
mmyy7 September 2023
There is a singing scene between Rex, the rock star, and laura Marano. It is freakishly close to a singing scene in Austin and Ally between Laura marano and Austin--Ros Lynch. Both songs are pretty and there's even a similar "lean on" lyric. And in both Laura Marano plays a singer with stage fright. The scene has very little to do with the actual plot. It's just amazingly close to Austin and Ally. Laura Marano must have had a strong deja vu. Meanwhile I had no idea Rex was Avan Jogia (Beck) from Victorious. He did a good job. I like when actors appear as characters and you don't recognize them at all. The movie is good fun and if you're an Austin and Ally fan you will love the singing scene.

Longest Nexpresso Comercial I've ever seen
fieraruionutradu8 September 2023
I saw porn better filmed than this. There are scene where you can see they used green screen. The writting is so cheesy that will make Pacino act bad, so let's not blame the actors. This is just a low romcom that can you trick by the false asumption that is interactive. Despite the big decisions eg. Which race should the white woman chose, the rest of decisions are simply useless, because the movie will go in the same direction. There is a case where you can chose if Cami should wear an elegant dress or a wild one and no matter what you chose, the man will decide in the next scene that the elegant one is the the better choice.

Big L Netflix.

I tried to like it
miaheggs12 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I really did try to like this, as I love interactive stories!

None of the potential suitors were likable. It's not even an option to not choose any of them, which is the route I would have taken.

The dialogue was really clunky and a lot of it made me physically cringe.

It's also very bizarre that the choice to stay with Paul is cut very short and thrown together clumsily. It doesn't make much sense that Paul was the least cringey suitor, and he's the one that you're not supposed to pick... REX??? FOUL... It was so painful to watch him and I regret going back to see what would happen if I chose him.

Also what did they dress Cami in? The shirt with all the cut outs on the sleeves made me so mad.

It is 5 only because we had fun
jovmar-2138912 September 2023
Characters are awful and dialogues are cringe. All choices feel bad. At least we had a laugh while watching this below average interactive movie. Main character is not really likable at all. We wanted to mix it up as much as possible but we were hoping for a crazier ending. Interactive movies are a cool genre, but I feel that 2 movies that netflix made were underwhelming. We watched in couples, so that's a recommendation if you still decide to watch it. Also, it is not that long, I guess because of our choices but we kept it fun until the end. There should be a choice to end up with your boss, aka the donut guy.

NO to choices
lidijastupar1 September 2023
Watching a movie shouldnt feel like work.. hello!! Let me relax !.. I have to make enough choices in my real life... this move DIY experience sucks, I got to I guess a third of the movie, and got tired. I really couldn't continue. One choice after another, then you can also go back and change it all, you never know how much of a movie you got left... I'm guessing it could last about 4 hours if you keep changing your choices. It's a really interesting concept at first but it doesn't work.. Maybe in cartoons I see the point , but for grown ups , it gets really enoying and frustrating.. waste of time... will not watch something like this again.

An average movie to watch with your lover
Nopofzz8 September 2023
"Choose Love" is an interactive movie. You should definitely try this genre. This movie is not the best interactive movie, so don't judge the entire genre because of this movie. Try it, you may hate it, you may love it.

There are probably dozens of different versions of the movie. This is the movie that you need to watch with your significant other. This movie can get you to know someone closer.

Everything in this movie is related to your choices. The interactive feature made this movie a good one.

As a conclusion, your experience with this movie will be unique. You need to experience this. And act quick with your decisions because netflix is not going to wait you.

A different kind of rom com
lisafordeay1 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Choose Love is a 2023 interactive romantic comedy starring Laura Marano,Avan Jogia,Scott Michael Foster and Jordi Webber.

Viewers at home with the help of a TV remote must help a young woman named Cami Conway(Marano)who apparently has it all. She's got the job she wants as a recording engineer and is headed towards engagement, marriage and kids with her wonderful boyfriend, Paul.

And yet, she feels something is missing. Could it be that she might be missing out on an even better career, perhaps her singing career she once dreamed of,and is Paul really the man for her or could it be Rex Galier(Jogia) the sexy British rock star, who walks into her studio and becomes irrepressibly smitten or could it be Jack Menna(Webber), her first love, "the one that got away", who is an idealistic world traveler, who returns home and is ready to rekindle their relationship?

Its up to the viewer to decide who Cami chooses and what career to pick. I actually liked this film as we never got this type of movie before where the viewer uses their remote control to help Cami's life.

A movie-game for teens
romaniederreveaux8 December 2023
Personally, I was very curious about the concept of an interactive film, but it quickly turned out not to be for me. As a viewer you can make choices during the story. This already has the limitation that you have to watch the film on a touchscreen. Streaming this film is therefore impossible.

The story itself is very childish. Very little happens, there is hardly any tension. Because the image and sound on Netflix are not 100% synchronized and there are often breaks in the film to allow you to make your choices, you are not drawn into the story. It is very difficult to keep your attention.

In my opinion, this concept has been developed purely for children to keep them busy in silence. It is exactly the same concept as the choice games that you can install as a game on your smartphone. I don't think these is any added value that this film/game (whatever you want to call it) is promoted on a streaming service such as Netflix.

Just watch this movie, so you can have an own opinion
angeluitwormer1 September 2023
Some people are too sensitive for this film. Choices have to be made during film. Are you going to cheat or not. Do you choose to end long-term relationship or not. Some people apparently can't do this or some feel guilty. I understand it somewhere, but first of all, it's a movie. Secondly, life is also full with chooses. If you are in a long-term relationship it doesn't mean you have to stay with that person forever and is doesn't mean that is good. I do not approve cheating and I would hate if it happens to me. But it happens.

So ... Choose to have a good time by watching this movie with a glass of wine. I enjoyed myself very much. Of course there are nicer movies or better script. But I did not waste my evening watching this movie.

I give this movie a 8 because some people are crybabies. Goodnight!

A bit of fun!
hajermiller-9119511 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed the interactive part of this. Light hearted easy watching.

Unfortunately I felt there was only real chemistry with Rex so it felt like he was the only choice. Playing through the other scenarios just didn't click so felt a bit boring. If you had three absolute hotties with amazing chemistry then the film would have been more of a hit. Even the kissing between Cami and Paul felt so awkward I instantly wrote him off.

The choices and resulting scenes were seamless and done very well. Rex perhaps modelled his characteristic on Russel Brand?

Why do reviews need to be so long to be approved ha ha ha.

bland rom-com with a gimmick
SnoopyStyle8 September 2023
Cami Conway (Laura Marano) is unsatisfied. A psychic tells her that she has three men in her future. She already has adequate boyfriend Paul Swartz (Scott Michael Foster). Former crush Jack Menna (Jordi Webber) comes back into her life. Rock star Rex Galier (Avan Jogia) tempts her with reviving her childhood dream. Cami often breaks the fourth wall and sometimes invites the audience to make a choice.

Netflix is trying interactive again and I can say that this is a fail. I barely am able to maintain interest to go through the story once. It's a very bland rom-com and not worthy of the attention needed for the interactions. This would be more in line with Hallmark romance movies and those are best played in the background. For this genre to work, the audience has to be fully invested in the movie and desperate to search out every possible path. I remember those Choose Your Own Adventure books back in the 80's. They were more action adventures. A good rom-com is constructed from standard parts that builds and flows. I don't think it works as an interactive movie. When it is interactive, it becomes too disjointed. This movie is always going through all three men to set up the next choice. The structure is completely different.

Like I said, this is a bland rom-com to begin with. I like Marano, but the movie is all on her shoulders. The guys could be good, but the premise makes them not irreplaceable. As a straight-up rom-com, this could be average Hallmark fare. Add in the gimmick, this become unbearably extended.

Out of all the choices
mhut-460637 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It was definitely a fun movie to watch, with someone. Have a quick discussion on what to choose. But the storyline was quite predictable, you kind of already knew how the movie will go from the start. But it didn't take away the fun of making your own decisions along the way. Fun and cheesy!

Somehow Florian (who is supposed to be Dutch) doesn't sound Dutch at all...it was Dutch with a real heavy American accent. As a Dutchie that kind of made me giggle, because that is always the case...

From all the decisions we had to make, we couldn't choose which donut to take from the plate at her work... shame.

If the choice of donuts was integrated in the movie it was a deffo 10/10.

Meaningless Cheating Up Simulator
geeker-1273618 March 2024
This project really only offers the portrayal of cheating as quirky and acceptable as long as it's done for "love." This is simply the result of years of moral decline in the West, especially in art and entertainment. Projects like these not only encourage young people to believe that cheating is acceptable because everyone has "the one that got away" or a way-too-cool local celebrity they once met, but they also contribute to the trivialization of morality. I know one can simply say you don't have to cheat and use story to stay loyal but the thing is this movie acts like other options are well reasoned and completly moral and valid. Love, as a concept, has become a shallow understanding of the right to be degenerate, and this kind of art only contributes to that.
