They got the most of it right...

... at least the music hits from those years - but getting a blue passport, for traveling outside the Eastern bloc, was perhaps not such a big deal in 1985 (especially because the red/blue passport system was abolished in 1984). In my experience, buying a pair of genuine Levi's jeans could be harder - nonetheless, half of the cast seem to use those.

Beating up cops, on the other hand, with almost no consequences - I wouldn't be sure about that...

After first 2 episodes, so far so good. Blackmail, self righteous socialists, drama, good looking girls, and perfect 80's setup.

Budapest is beautiful. That shot of him arriving and looking over Danube river, is gorgeous.

One thing, the handler, he seems a bit naïve and insecure. Usually, at that level, they are smarter than that. Let's hope it won't be his undoing.

A bit lazy writing, but still the second best hungarian series.

The characters in the series are great. The actors play very well, bringing the roles tailored to them very well.

The story is interesting and action-packed.

The only thing that causes some disappointment is that the characters are too close together. Too much is a coincidence.

But it is absolutely the best series since the golden life /Aranyélet/ I have seen from a Hungarian director.

I shivered throughout the first two episodes.

I hope the quality of the first two episodes will be maintained until the end. This is an excellent series, great story so far, top notch acting and superb production values. I shivered frequently because I was forced to remember my youth and the strange ambiente of Hungary in mid 80s. There were some moments which can be deeply moving for somebody who lived through those years. The pub scenes with live music were causing me a great shock, 'cause it was so authentic I am unable to put it into words. Sharp memories came back, I never experienced anything like this before. Awesome!

Amazing time travel experience

Very good work, you get drowned into the movie, like a time travel experience, so realistic. You can catch some parallels between then and now, seems that history is repeating itself time by time.

Maybe you have to have lived in Eastern Europe in the socializm (or in Hungary in the past 12 years) to fully understand this, but if you do, you'll enjoy it like hell. Exactly like hell.

I've just finished watching the last episode and I can know say that this was one of the best shows I have seen in a while. Great story and astonishing acting. Does an excellent job portraiting comunist Hungary with barely noticible flaws.

I am in love with the eastern European movies and TV series. This show was sensational in the first 4 episodes. Great acting, great dialogues and plot development. But the fall down starts with episode 5 up to the end. So many clichés, and big holes in the plot and characters emerges. It could have been a great show with the series critical point of view towards the communism in the Eastern Bloc countries and the student movements. What a pity.

Good flashback to the 80s with some flaws

Overall excellent show, great acting and directing.

The secret police members are depicted a little too primitive. Most of them, who managed informants were much more sophisticated, did not need physical force to threaten their subjects. They found something to blackmail you just like in the movies. Very often multiple people were recruited to report about each cell and that way they had a quick sense if some did not report everything.

For me the biggest flaw is the naming of the school the students attending. In Hungarian they call it " Gazdasági Egyetem".

Nobody, I mean nobody called that school gazdasági egyetem. Its name was Közgazdaságtudományi Egyetem and everyone referred to it using its shortened name "Közgáz". This is quite a big flaw, for someone who was a university student in Budapest in the mid 80s this makes the show somewhat unauthentic. They could have used this in the original language version and for the foreign subtitles the " school of economy" would have worked.

But I can hardly wait the next episode, very well written and all the props are truly authentic! Great job!

Surprisingly I was Hooked from the very first minute. Great cast, plot and really good production. Despite very active show season, this one is one of the best this year. Highly recommended:)

Soap opera infused with communist regime cliches

I was a uni student in Budapest during the 80s, but other than the props, there is little authenticity to the characters, mood, and story details. Singing Stalinist movement songs in 1985 at a uni student's gathering? Come-on! Or was I just l the lucky one not to witness this and getting a "blue passport" without selling my soul?

Was taken from the beginning of this series.

I like the 80's and at the same time interested in what happened on the other side of the Iron Curtain.

The series is well timed in both speech and image.

It will be full pot.

There's some details wich I explored on Marine scenes

-those lifebuoy ring types doesnt exsisted in 80's -Marine radar sys ...same -Despite of bluring optic, some yachts apperaing in the background.
