A Bridge to the Starry Skies
Tweekums11 March 2012
Warning: Spoilers
This anime follows Kazuma Hoshino a high school boy who has moved from the city to a rural town for the sake of his younger brother's health. Things don't get off for a good start when they catch the wrong bus then Kazuma gets lost in the woods after chasing a monkey that stole his brother's hat. Here he meets Ui who shows him out of the woods but shares an accidental kiss with him after he trips and falls on her; this is witnessed by her friend Ibuki who is convinced that he is a pervert! Not surprisingly the two of them turn out to be in the same class as him. As is the way with this type of series he soon has a harem of female friends although there is another boy in the group; Daigo, who is a bit of a pervert. Over the course of the series they get up to the standard anime activities such as going to the beach, going to the public baths (where Daigo tries to sneak a peek at the girls) and singing at the local karaoke.

This was a fairly standard series; it had enough laughs but the events were all fairly cliché and anybody who has seen a few anime series will have encountered most of the scenarios before. The character designs were pretty good and the backgrounds were delightfully scenic for the most part. There was some nudity although any involving the girls had obvious 'lens flare' or steam to censor it while boys' bare backsides were shown... presumably the creators think censoring the girls will encourage people to buy the uncensored DVDs! This show passed the time well enough and I didn't find it boring however I doubt I'll want to watch it again and suspect I'll have forgotten most of what happened soon enough.

These comments are based on watching the series in Japanese with English subtitles.

Does not have a good ending to the anime

Warning: Spoilers
I rather recommend you to read manga than watching the anime. Anime went through a good start but as it reached finally show chose the wrong girl. Other characters development is kind of lacking too. Main heroin is plain and compare to other girls she definitely last person viewers want to see.

In the manga the shrine girl end up together.

If you want more than that there exists a visual novel which is the original source material give better closure to each character.
