"Mystery Train" had my hopes very high. From the 8.5 rating to the fact that the plot was a birthday mystery plot. But sadly, it didn't reach my expectations. Nevertheless, it's not like the episode was bad! It was actually quite intriguing and unique.
In the episode, Jake takes Finn on a train ride to reach his birthday present. Unfortunately, the ride doesn't go as smoothly as planned. Passengers on the train are slowly murdered one by one, soon leaving only Finn and Jake, then only Finn. The conclusion felt much more closed and, thankfully, concluded than most episodes in season two, and the episode kept me intrigued the whole time. I think this episode was about as good as "Slumber Party Panic" which I certainly enjoyed as well.
Nothing too interesting in most of the episode, just your run-of-the-mill murder mystery plot with classic F&J vibes. (Wow, I never thought I would've used the phrase "run of the mill"). I reveal of Jake being the conductor and the train falling of the cliff was very scooby doo-like, and I really thought that was quite neat.
So, is Finn a teen now, or is this just a non-continuity thaangg?
Rating:7.7/10
