Things I liked about "The White Flower":
Things I didn't like:
*** out of 4.
- the echoes of "Reservoir Dogs"!
- the amorality of the story. You are promised femme fatales, and you get two of them, both great. But the two men are bad to the bone as well. There are no "good guys" here.
- the cast - and not just (for obvious reasons!) the women: all four of the main actors are perfectly chosen for the task at hand.
- the last-second twist about the meaning of the title. It adds to all the other little twists.
- the "flowers for Mrs. Stanwyck" line. It appears that writer-director Michael Hurst has done his homework.
Things I didn't like:
- the lesbian scene! Yes, I know what you're thinking, but seriously, that scene has nothing to do with the plot, the two women involved are not as attractive as our two main women anyway, and it takes up a couple of valuable minutes from an already too-short running time.
