The film is well-made. Its dialogue is ...'convincing'. The two Greek male leads are quite adequate in their roles, as is the actress.
Aside from these basic points in favour, I really don't see what the point of the movie is. Two Greek men living lonely lives on the south coast of Crete, growing...bananas... end up both falling for the same German woman, and fighting over her... Maybe 'going bananas' is 'a metaphor' for their state of mind rel to her and each other... Sorry, but it is an obvious metaphor...
Now, why anyone should imagine that this story line, which must be repeated hundreds of times all over Greece every summer, between X million young Greek males and x million young female tourists, is worth making a whole movie out of is beyond me.
Its not a ;'bad' movie or i wouldn't have watched it all the way through. But it does seem pretty pointless. 'So what?' was my question at the beginning of the movie...and 'so what?' remains my question at the end if the movie.
