Not perfect but not as bad as the reviews...

I was actually one of the people who didn't care for this show to begin with. But then I thought about it, and I rarely like the first season of shows. I think I'm just not into that "getting to know the cast" season. Ultimately I decided to show wasn't for me and didn't even finish season one. But then I heard on the radio that they touch on topics that are generally taboo within the black community, specifically mental health, so I started Season 2.

I must say, it's really not that bad! I like the ladies a lot more than I did on the first season, specifically, Ashley and Erana. I am a Ready to Love fan so I was already familiar with Clifton and Joi. I'm hoping to see some positivity from the two of them because I was so turned off by their behavior (primarily Joi's) during the reunion show but I digress.

As with any reality show, they have their share of drama, but I'm really enjoying the family interactions. Jamie and little Jamie have so much work to do, but they are trying and they are a complete family unit...something that's so often not displayed on black tv. Ashley is being completely transparent about her perspective of what she experienced as a 16 year old girl. I admire that quality, as that's something I struggle with and it's just refreshing to see.

Like I said, it's not perfect. It's still a reality show and there are definitely moments that we are contrived, but it's not a complete train wreck. Give it a chance!

Too much repeat adult women acting childish

I am not interested in watching grown adult women acting out continuously with childish behavior. I can tolerate an episode with misunderstandings but not every episode. This is so much like the other housewife's show (I stopped watching them).

Joi & Clifford

In getting to know who you two are, this show is not for you. You two are too good to endure the mess of some of the cast. Ashley is VERY DISRESPECTFUL and believes her actions and words are warranted. Shows like this diminishes ones character. Why not go back to concentrating on your career and the image you want to portray in life. I had to stop watching bc of the utter nastiness. Joi it really appears Clifford genuinely loves you. Clifford, Joi should be the woman that's your best friend. You two are on a dangerous road with your marriage. Join, let bringing other women into your marriage be a lesson to you. Very impressed with how you handled yourself on the episodes of the Reunion.

P. S. Only watched the Reunion this Season.

ASHLEY AND QUICK NEED TO GO!!!!!

Bring Monique Samuels !!! Ashley is Super Mean it Makes Her So Ugly!!!! So Not A Fam of Ashley and Quick!!! Ashley Starts Fights Yells then Play Victim!!! Not A Fan or Her. Glad the others are now visiting . And getting along. Everyone can get along outside of Ashley. It Shows she's definitely jealous of Joy and why not sure yet she knows .... so not interested in Quick and Ashley it's not even Quick fault... it's 100% his WIFE!!!! She's just not a TV favorite Never Was Because she always starting with the other cast members it's not a good look for them and their family. So with the other too we love Jamie and his wife!!

This show is the worse

Such a disappointment because I WAS a Monique fan and come to find out the supporting characters on her show are so boring and the show seems scripted. NOTE TO PRODUCERS, you should do your research on the demographic that watches the show. For readers of this review, this old looking hag with all this mileage on her face, supposed to be in her mid 30s , made a comment about not wanting to be an old hag with menopause. From what she described sounds like she is going through perimenopause. Because the characters are not educated enough to understand these matters, I don't think they have any voice for women on anything concerning love. Dumb old looking chick check out the pleasure docu on Netflix. Since this unreality show is not good entertainment, I suggest the housewives of Potomac, who are better informed about women's bodies and try not to insult a large part of their demographic. IJS.

I live Marriage Huntsville. D. C's show is a disgrace. Winter is the only character I like. I was on the fence about Monique. Now I really don't like her character on this show. Kill this. Do Love and Marriage Atlanta or Columbus. Anything but this. I can't watch any more. Even the male characters are annoying. ESPECIALLY that DJ and his wife. So annoying.

Wow...winter had them pegged....period...and I didn't see any fake with her unlike Monique coming to them the wrong way....and I liked Monique..still do but she should have presented that issue more correctly...period..ashley..need to calm down...

Needs Geography knowledge

Saw previews of this series. The first one I saw one of the women stated she wants in "Peace in the Northeast". DC IS NOT in the NORTHEAST!

The State of Delaware borders the North and the South. DC is South of Delaware. If you're creating a REALITY In DC series, the lines in the script meet the geographical area. DC is unique in its own way and it has nothing to do with the Northeast. Two very different customs, languages, History etc. When depicting a way of life in a specific State one has to be aware of where it is. DC is in the SOUTHEAST and is West of the Atlantic Ocean Since it begins not knowing where they are, I'll be skipping this one. 👎🏽

I watch this show and I enjoy it very much! However Monique is toooo hard on Chris! He seems like a very good father, son, and husband to me. I'm not really understanding her issues with Chris! It seems like too much criticism to me. I guess she has her reasons for what she is saying. However it's not coming across as not valid to me. It's coming across as he is trying very hard to please her and he is coming up short frequently.

I enjoy seeing black couples working on their relationships. I will keep watching and I hope the show expands to other cities as well. Keep up the good work everyone Involved in the production of the show! 😍😍😍😍😍

Joy& clifton

Since Monique and her husband is not there it seem very boring because Ashley and her husband don't really have any class. Joy & Clifton brought life to the show, because they have a story line as well. I going to continue to watch it because of Joy and her husband.

Ashley and her husband need to be replaced with more classy people. DC have a lot of interesting people in it, they are not.

Monique need to return as soon as possible. I would love too see Monique inter act with joy and her husband.

A lot of the woman in the show are really getto. Pick better people who got interesting story to tell and someone who can keep a secrets.

Monique and Chris = Really Bad Scripted Performances

I can't say, Chris and Monique are bad actors. Putting them in the same category with real actors and actresses seems like an insult to the real actors/performers. This show is their desperate attempt to stay relevant. I'll never watch this show again.

Shootout to Chris' mom....we totally understand why you don't care for your daughter in law. Actually, the show would be a lot better if they'd bring Chris mom on... now that would be gooooood entertainment!

I'm so sick her Ashley and her little husband. Ashley tries to be the bully then gets mad when people stand up to her. She's constantly playing victim. Then she started mess with Joi and Cliff. They are toxic for the show!! They aren't bringing anything important. I was outdone when Quick called Jamie's son a "bad kid". How dare him when he is barely around his own kids. I'm glad Joi and Cliff are transparent and they add to the show. I don't think they will stick around much longer due to Ashley and her messy husband and that's unfortunate. I'm wondering why they've been on the air this long.

I tried and tried watching but it is just lame and boring! This is the worst show on tv right now. If something doesn't change I don't see it lasting long at all. Sorry I tried to support.

Screaming women

I get the ads for this on Philo constantly and is this just a show about screaming women? Seems to be since that's all the ads show🙄 I'd give it 0 stars if I could just because of the ads showing nothing but bickering and it also seems scripted and they're bad actors too ,not for me.

Very boring

I've tried to like this show I really have but it's so boring! I really like love and marriage Huntsville but the DC version is just lame. I thought it would be interesting with Monique Samuels on the cast but nope she's boring as well. I never even finished season 1 fell asleep on every episode. Skipped to season 2 and still falling asleep. I think he needs new people the main lady that gets all the screen time don't know her name cause she has no story line is so boring I swear I've taken like 5 cat naps I think I'm on episode three trying to find something interesting but it's two ladies that look to be in their late 40's arguing about a rap song called "gutter Barbie's" . I'm not making this up try to watch the show these women are too old for this nonsense....man I really wanted to like this show.

I originally started watching this show because of Monique. I loved her on Potomac and was happy to see her return to television. Once she left I didn't know if I would continue watching . Then one of my favorite black love tv couples Joi and Clifton joined and I remained a fan of the show. I didn't know how I would feel about Ashley this season because she does give off mean girl vibes but I am growing to love her as I really think that she's misunderstood often. I'm hoping she remains authentic but continue to grow as a woman and friend to the other woman. Looking forward to seeing how the friendships blossom and the black love keeps developing.

Tasteless

So tired of shows where people of color act in tasteless and unclass ways. Why can't we show positivity in lifting each other up? Ashley is probably one of the worse. To say that she made Joi and Clifton is untrue. Regardless of what type show they were on, I knew about Joi and Clifton long before I heard anything about Ashley or Quick. I think this show is beneath Joi and Clifton and I hope they leave that toxic and tasteless show.

Ashley appears to be a self centered, can't do any wrong and her husband buys into it.

She has some alliances to now have issues with Joi and Clifton but people like Erana, her husband and Wynter don't agree with Ashley, she has problems with them,

We are nurses and at the hospital in our break room. We always have this show on. We're all pretty sick of Ashley. She's so shady and jealous and just a bully. She doesn't make a good look for us women.

Kicking people out of parties is so grade school. Please remove them off the show. It would be so much better if they weren't there. Her husband is the same. I just don't understand why they're on the show.

She doesn't even give good vibes at all. The other couples are okay but honestly the other show is so much better. This show just really isn't that great at all. Especially with Ashley on it.

DC, WHERE?!?!?

First and foremost out the gate, once I heard the geographical location was Baltimore, Md., I switched channels. DC is DC, Maryland is Maryland and Virginia is Virginia, contrary to what you all think, the other two aren't DC, we can't go to these states and get a driving license etc. And vice versa. Quik Silva is a radio personality all over, I don't care if these people used to live here, they don't anymore and they're trying to take credit as living here as these programs all do, we have alot going on here and some of these people probably don't know where DC starts or ends and we're sick of it, DO BETTER CARLOS. If you're trying to put DC on the map, which we do not need help with because I'm quite sure we're well known all over the world and trying to promote this show using us in the title is a no go on all levels. From what I've read, the people can't act and it's a reality show and the Potomac girl is on there and she's not a fan favorite, IJS.

Just horrible!

The only reason I watched a few episodes of season 2 was because of Clifton and Joi, the rest of the cast needs find somewhere quiet and just sit down. Just garbage! The season finale crossed the line for me. There would not be a season 2 without Clifton and Joi, show some respect! Maybe if OWN gives Clifton and Joi there own show I will watch it. Or maybe if you kick off Ashley and the rest of the wife's off

Please cancel l this show on OWN. I thought Love and Marriage Huntsville was bad, but this one is just horrible! I will not watch this show again. OWN needs better quality control.

It's Spring 2023 and my first time watching the series, binge watching it over a rainy weekend. I say this because if it wasn't for being cooped up in my house, I think I would have gotten bored and stopped watching by episode 5.

Monique is quiet the interesting person. I wasn't a fan of hers on RHOP, because her personality is narcissistic and shallow, but I also didn't like how bitter, miserable green eye bandits treated her. I also never liked how she treats Chris.

Anyhow, soooo Winter is weird AF. I mean most of what she says is a contradiction, she hides behind this fake Christian veil, and she has to be stuck on stupid and needs healing to having been in a toxic marriage and then jumped in another marriage with someone she didn't clearly know well. I'm sorry but as a mother, you aren't coming around my children if I don't know you well. She didn't even know where this man lived, but married him! And let's not even get on that head. I'm a fan of women doing whatever with their hair, and have liked the styles with a shaved/long hair element. The problem is that hers is poorly executed lol. Where is her meds?

The other two women would be ok if they brought more to the storyline other than not like Winter. Boring!

What was interesting was covering Big James' parenting style with his children. I think it was quite revealing to see the overbearing dad (who seems unaware), pushing his children to pursue careers or interests that are solely of his desire and not theirs. In earlier episodes with the dad bringing up Lil James going down wrong path, I instantly thought: this little knucklehead doesn't know how lucky he is. But then you realize that Big James' parenting style may be contributing to his son directly outing out and rebelling. James seems like a good dad and involved, but overbearing. He needs to find balance.

Overall, I think I'll watch season 2 out of curiosity since it's a long weekend to binge it, but Idk... giving this series a 5 for now.

SIDE NOTE: For the reviewers talking about the cast not knowing their geography is quite hilarious because of the irony that the reviewer doesn't get it. When anyone in the DMV (DC, Montgomery & PG Counties of MD, Fairfax, Prince William Counties, Arlington, Alexandria of VA), speak of Northeast, Southeast, Northwest, or Southwest, they are referring to the 4 quadrants of DC, not DC's geographical location within the US. LOL. I guess this could have been an opportunity for production to explain this since perhaps if you aren't familiar with the area, the average viewer wouldn't understand it.

Ashley should do better

Ashley is very unpleasant. She has to be right. I don't like the way she speaks to her mother. I'm sure as someone around her mother's generation she feels guilt as well as Ashley's pain. Her mother apologized, was else do you want. I also don't like the way Ashley disrespects Clifton. It's very difficult to watch the show with her behavior. Lastly, she should not be frustrated and angered because her friends and mother did not read her book. Maybe if she did not come off so hostile, maybe they would. Not everyone likes to read. I myself with long hauler Covid, I now find it difficult to read. You don't know why people are not reading your book so stop being so opinionated. Wishing you the best!

ASHLEY NEEDS TO GO... is is so rude and a bully. She acts like she never wrong . She is an insure women. Quick knows his wife is mean and rude and need to be corrected. Quick allows that foolishness. It makes him look bad. No class. Ashley can't always be right. Why is Ashley friend on the show she dosnt have a mind of her own.

Ashley is so Getto. He house is not fabulous .. is from oxen hills MD? She need to forgive and say apologize for her rude behaviors. I do like the topics they bring up as couples. Winter is nice and I really like the new couple on the show.

I feel that Ashley Silva is a jealous, immature, nasty person. She feels that everyone should cater to her. She's extremely jealous of Joi and Clifton's marriage. She totally lied on Clifton, and want everyone else to take her side regardless of her insanity. Ashley may be pretty, but her actions make her ugly. Pretty is as pretty does.

Ashley has issues from her childhood and it has affected her relationship with other people.

I feel she needs to apologize to everyone she has hurt and leave the show altogether!! Ashley has her husband, Quick Silva acting just like her, selfish and rude. .....

I hate people who think they're always right.. Ashley ! She needs to style up. QuickSilva is scared of Ashley think about this!!! If the husband tries to correct her..ooh lord he knows her ,she'd probably blow up.

I love the rest of the team members but I also feel the group needs to be more exciting rather than fight the entire show just because Ashley feels she is above everyone and anything, her attitude is quite a lot.

Ashley I just need to let her know that she thinks everyone should like her lol.

What's wrong with her ??? Everything is wrong about her and that's why my conversation my comment is all about her attitude she wants to be adored ..how? Pls earn it girl.
