Had Potential

Warning: Spoilers
It seemed like it could have been a really good movie but it felt like there were some plot holes. By the time it ended I was confused. The storyline really wasn't fluid so there was a lot I couldn't figure out. Plus, I couldn't figure out who some of the characters were. It seemed like a lot was going on and the story didn't get a chance to come together. Not a lot of backstory but plenty of stabbings and shootouts. Lol.

The history between the main character Hoon-su (sp?) and his childhood friend Chul-jin (sp?) wasn't entirely clear and they tried to kill each other several times. I'm still not sure how Hoon-su lived after being stabbed that many times. The friend arranged for main characters stepson to be killed and even the way that played out was kind of clunky...and also sad.

I don't know, maybe it was me but there was way too much going on and they should have just made it TV Show or something to flesh it all out. Missed opportunities here. The story had potential and it seemed rushed even with the 2 hour runtime. Lol

I'm not going to give it a super low rating because it was beautifully shot and the main character had heart. Great acting there. Anyway...on to the next!

Business is a dirty thing...!!!

Warning: Spoilers
It is inevitable to say that koreans have excelled the art of making typical gangster flicks, one such notable flick is "HOT BLOODED" by Cheon myeon gwan...

With no such so called BLOODY high octane action sequences this one purely relies on its substance over style type of seamless screenplay...

Be it the understanding between the Dons or the low level thugs honesty towards their masters or the internal rivalry that had a gentle approach makes the flick stand tall...

With plenty of characters in the narratives takes time to build up with undivided attention & detailing, the violence is displayed at regular intervals manages to create a deep impact...

Technically camera work takes the credits that intends to be realistic and not to be too flashy or royal...

Nastry Boring Laundry Money

This is just another commercial that been funded by tobacco company. It's about a smoking, boring, nasty, vomit, moron, lunatic and a rather bland mans. You can show story without them and no one will complain that it is not historically inaccurate. Corporations simply have no way to advertise, so they fund films like that in exchange for constantly showing their products. Stop making commercials pretending to be movies about something. An empty bag of mostly water. See nothing, feel nothing, learn nothing from his body of work. The filmmakers did not seem aware that they were creating extremely unflattering portraits. That how it goes.
