Teen Titans Go! and DC Super Hero Girls
MB-reviewer18524 May 2022
I have not seen that many episodes of DC Super Hero Girls, but I have seen a lot of Teen Titans Go! Episodes and when it comes to a crossover movie, I did not know what to think. Especially when Teen Titans Go! And DC Super Hero Girls have crossed over before in some episodes of the Teen Titans Go! Show.

What I find disappointing was that the Titans are barely in the movie. They are in the beginning, some of the middle, and in an ending scene that made me question why this a crossover movie in the first place was. The Multiverse element does not happen that much, the Super Hero Girls only go to 2 or 3 universes.

If you like the DC Super Hero Girls then you will like this movie, because they are in the whole movie with just occasional Teen Titans Go! Scenes. This felt more like a DC Super Hero Girls movie that should have been called DC Super Hero Girls: Mayhem in the Multiverse.

I did find some funny self-aware moments and I like when the Titans show up, they give 4th wall breaking scenes or connections to their show or their movies. The animation is good, and the same voice cast from the shows were still good.

I thought the movie was fine. Other than some story issues I can see people who like DC Super Hero Girls and/or Teen Titans Go! Liking this movie for what it is.

Titans only in for 5 mins
chrisudrea27 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Not trying to ruin anything but the Superhero Girls are totally riding the Titans coat tails. They were only in it for 5 mins if that. I bought this for my son cause of the Teen Titans completely disappointed. Great animation and overall work and story were a 10 star but the Titan thing lost alot of rating for us.

An ok film
ashfordofficial26 June 2022
The fourth film in the Teen Titans Go! Franchise and the eighth overall film in the DC Super Hero Girls franchise. I enjoyed the self dissing jokes and the DC Multiverse meta references, it was well written and creatively coherent.

I'm still not fan of this animation style. I hope they will change it for the next reboot/remake.

Avoid if you came to see Teen Titans Go!
paultmahon26 May 2022
My daughter loves Teen Titans and has watched some episodes of DC Superhero Girls, but finds them boring, so you can imagine how much she hated a movie where Teen Titans got top billing but barely featured.

I asked her what she would give this out of 10 and she said ZERO but that wasn't an option.

A Worthy Watch If your a fan of DC Super Hero Girls
tyzilla-0245026 May 2022
Now I have seen basically all of Teen Titans Go! Some Occasional DC Super Hero Girls Episodes I will say that leans alot more on the DC Super Girls I would even say this is fully a DC Super Hero Girls Movie all together because the Teen titans barley show up in the Movie but I get and understand why they might have done this have more focus on them and the story was relatively good and the two teams do meet but it's not for that long. But overall I do say DC SuperHero Girls should get some more shine and light on it after this movie because it doesn't get as much attention as the Teen Titans do so overall its a good watch if your a fan of either of these shows mostly the DC Super Hero Girls.

If you want to watch for the titans DONT
This stupid movie only focused on the super girls and the titans barley had anything to do with this movie. If I could I would've gave this movie 0 stars .

total waste of time for teen titans fans
hu_bei31 May 2022
The title is a total scam, as the movie.

Teen titans go shouldn't be even mentioned and not even represented in the image as 99% of the time is DC super hero girls and 1% teen titans.

Just a scam to attract the teen titans fans.

Don't bother to waste your time on this movie, DC shame on you to run such a scam to promote other characters... call the movie as it is for real... ONLY DC SUPER HERO GIRLS & NOTHING TO DO WITH TEEN TITANS GO

gave 1 because it's not possible to give 0.

I'm a big fan of teen titans go, as I saw all the seasons as the movie.

Nothing against super hero girls, but not what I came to see. So basically wasted 1+ hour of time waiting for the appeareance of what I was expecting and nothing happend. This is totally not what a crossover is.

A Good Finale To DCSHG2019, Even If TTG Is There As A Sales Booster
jeremycrimsonfox30 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Mayhem in The Multiverse is a cheesy movie that is yet another crossover between Teen Titans Go! And DC Super Hero Girls 2019, while also serving as a finale to the latter show, tying up all the loose ends.

In the movie, it starts with the Teen Titans setting up a television set they found in the trash, and when they turned it on, Control Freak appears to tell them that they are in a Super Hero Team Crossover Event, which the Titans groan about, as Robin says it's for lame shows to latch onto cooler shows to boost popularity (which is pretty ironic, as Teen Titans Go has done crossovers in their show, be it with Scooby-Doo, a DTV movie with the original Teen Titans cartoon, or even Beetlejuie and Freakazoid). However, before the five can get some silly shenanigans in, it cuts to DCSHG2019, where in the middle of a fight with the Super Villain Girls, the villain side disappears, putting the girls in a mystery that will be the ultimate test to their friendship as Lex Luthor assembles the villains to form the Legion of Doom with an amulet that he plans to use to rid the world of all superheroes.

Okay, despite the title, the movie is not a crossover at all. While yes, the Teen Titans Go do appear in this, they do not do much, and are only with the DC Super Hero Girls for one scene, and that's all we get for the crossover part. Other than that, they only appear in the beginning and end. And seeing how this was originally going to be just the DC Super Hero Girls (as the movie serves as the series finale), I have to think the TTG segments and branding were shoehorned into this by WB executives in an attempt to add a cheap sales boost for this movie, which is mostly just the DC Super Hero Girls in action.

But it has a good story, nonetheless. The movie feels like a good finale to DC Super Hero Girls 2019, tying up all the loose ends from Season 2 that was still needed to be answered, has some good action and morals, and tells a good story fitting for an ending. As I said, the Teen Titans Go segments feel more like last minute additions other than the one scene both sides meet in to help boost sales, it is an okay movie.

Why is teen titans go even in the title???
nthabisengsello30 May 2022
I was only interested in this movie only because of the Teen titans,I have always found the DC superhero girls to be a little too serious for my liking so I wasn't interested in them as much as I was in the Teen Titans. You could imagine my disappointment when I realised that this is actually just a DC superhero girls movie and just a few minutes of the teen titans! A waste of my time and money.

DCSHG fans will like this! TTG fans, maybe not so much
Milk_Tray_Guy8 January 2023
This is a DtV animated crossover between the TTG and DCSHG franchises. The Legion of Doom - led by Lex Luthor - trap most of Earth's superheroes in the Phantom Zone. But Luthor's forgotten about the spunkiest, perkiest heroes of all.... Yes, turning their backs on their school work, young Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Zatanna, Batgirl, Jessica Cruz, and Bumblebee set off to save the world! Only, on their way to free their friends from the Phantom Zone, the girls take a wrong turn - and wind up in the universe of TTG...

I'm such a fan of the Gen2 version of DCSHG, and I'm really pleased that they got a movie of their own. TTG fans, however, might feel shortchanged. Despite first billing, the Titans only appear in four (I think) scenes, with a combined screentime that's roughly equal to one standard episode of TTG. Apparently, this was originally conceived as a DCSHG project, and only later did TPTB at WB decide TTG should also appear (that's a lot of initials). As a result the Titans don't really impact the plot at all (fine by me - but not really what the marketing led people to believe). The good news is that the original voice casts for both series are present and on form. There are a lot of laughs, as well as some quieter character moments. There's a TON of references - to past DC shows, and to DC lore in general. And there's touching closure for several story threads that have been running throughout DCSHG, leading to some speculation that this might be the final DCSHG appearance (there are conflicting reports as to the show's current status). I hope it isn't; but if this IS the girls last hurrah, it's a good one. 7.5/10.

Kids liked it but..
Cylac12 June 2022
They almost gave up a few times watching it as it was primarily about the "Hero Girls" and barely about the "Teen Titans". It was obviously a gimmick to promote the "Hero Girls". (Even the Teen Titans themselves say in the film that they were barely in it) 🙄

Regularly bad
mateogomero30 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'll get even for all my problems with the DC SHG movie and Teen Titans. Why I give it a 4/7, it was a bait that TTGO were going to be important in the story or at least they already knew the heroines, maybe they would do something better than they did in the really "multiversal" crossover of them with their animericano version "Teen Titans", but nope. They were other titans that didn't know the heroines (They made us a lie that those crossovers were important but they were just fillers to raise the rating in both series but more it was carried out by TTGO), plus they called it "multiversal chaos" barely being multiversal for only joining less than 10 minutes the DC SHG with the titans in action was the only multiversal thing there was nothing ELSE, besides that in the second season the male characters were already more relevant (In this movie I wasted many heroes), the DCSHG batman I don't even know who he is because Lex defeated him in seconds and this one was more scared without doing anything "Even Lex said: I thought you were one of the smartest guys I ever met" and to top it off the first time he faced the riddle; He mentions that it was difficult to defeat her compared to Babs that in seconds she managed to face her, the other heroes didn't even talk (In the beginning they were humiliated by the girls and then they want to help them), they wasted characters because they were just filler and they don't even talk "She reminds me of a NTR nerfied main character", I would have wanted Deathstroke to fight with Katana, the hornet with Livewire or Casey to fight with everyone (Cyntonna if she wasn't bad, I feel she was a great villain), on the other hand the development of Superman, Supergirl and Zatanna were the best, plus they let the TTGO's overshadow them because the jokes that are in this movie are forced. So I didn't really like it and I feel like they spoiled some things from season 2 but maybe I'll mention that later.... Best thing about the movie: Raven and Zee's interaction, Diana's bravery, Superman's change of attitude, Kara's development and Harley's appearance. Honestly as you say, it was a total disappointment. It would have been great a Deathstroke fight with Tatsu, Aqualad fighting against Giganta, the Hornet doing revenge against Livewire, Bane against Superman and that at the end the Titans should not even appear because they gave way to another crossover that I fear that again they will overshadow the heroines, maybe Casey would have betrayed Cythonna at the end and fought with all the villains "Amazing but repetitive fight". Plus they rumor again that they will cancel the series.... Also I knew this could happen because the series has a rating of 500 000 but in its second season it went to 200 000 compared to TTGO which has more than 800 000. On the other hand the pandemic also affected the series. And I don't know if I'm the only one who didn't like the humiliation of male characters.

I just pray to God that if they cancel it, at least the comics continue like Teen Titans which did end.

insulting the intelligence of the audience
sinamaa29 September 2023
WB cheated the audiences of TTG fans. I love TTG so I watched this with my brother and now just offended and blame ourselves why we waste our time.

If you didn't cater to TTG's fans, your film would have received a higher score. But you think you're clever enough to make an unappealing animation interesting through us. Rest assured, your trickery will be futile. My suggestion to you is not to watch this film.

Betrayal on the Silver Screen attempts to deceive its dedicated fanbase in a desperate bid to appeal to a wider audience. The filmmakers, in their misguided pursuit of commercial success, have compromised the integrity of the film by disregarding the very essence that made their fans loyal in the first place.

Instead of staying true to the unique qualities and storytelling that initially captivated their core audience, the film succumbs to the temptation of pandering to mainstream trends. This artistic betrayal not only undermines the trust and loyalty of their devoted fans but also dilutes the authenticity and originality that once set the film apart.

The blatant manipulation employed to make the film more palatable to a broader demographic is evident throughout. The narrative loses its depth and coherence, sacrificing substance for superficial appeal. The characters become mere caricatures, stripped of their complexity and depth in exchange for cheap gimmicks and clichéd tropes. This shallow approach not only insults the intelligence of the audience but also diminishes the emotional investment that fans had in the story and its characters.

The film's misguided attempt to increase its market share undermines its overall quality. By sacrificing artistic integrity for the sake of commercial success, Betrayal on the Silver Screen ultimately fails to deliver a meaningful and memorable cinematic experience. It serves as a stark reminder that catering to the masses at the expense of loyal fans will only lead to disappointment and a loss of credibility in the long run.

In conclusion, Betrayal on the Silver Screen is a regrettable example of a film that prioritizes profit over artistic integrity. By cheating their fans, the filmmakers have not only compromised the quality of their work but also damaged their reputation within the industry.

horrible, and it doesnt understand what TTG is about.
digdog-785-71753812 July 2022
Omg ..

Genuinely, a Teen Titans Go! Film written by someone who has zero idea what the Teen Titans Go! Show is about.

The Teen Titans are doing their usual stuff, when another group of superheroes - all obviously female - need to do some superhero *stuff*, thus proving they have no *borking* idea what TTG is about.

The very point of TTG is that it's a SPOOF OF THE SUPERHERO GENRE.

After the late 80s shift of superheroes into darker character, the same traits were later attached to newly-minted heroes designed for a younger audience. Not that you are supposed to relate to, idk, Frank Miller's Batman, but here we are. So you get Nightwing, which is a teenage tormented antihero, whose idea of angst is exactly the idea of angst a 15-yo would have.

TTG starts by saying, isn't this good grounds for a comedy? If these are 15yo kids, what happens when they are *not* fighting crime? What happens when they go for a pizza run?

Instead TTG&DCSHG:MITM (lol) totally doesnt get this, and does a straight-up Capt Marvel impersonation by having a dozen empowered strong woman superhero characters do the thing male superhero characters do but in a girly way - and without any of the character.

TTG has, like, 20 writers, were NONE of them available? Did we really need to give this film to Jase Ricci??

4.5/10 - pathetic

just watch (the vastly superior) TTG: To The Movies! Instead.

The fact I saw it on HBO Max!
VivaanK13 March 2023
I just started watching DC Superhero girls on Netflix just because this movie did not give me any awnser to what's going on. I got none of this I thought it was going to be more Teen Titans GO! Instead of being 90% DC superhero girls. The ending is awful judging by this clarifying the Teen Titans had nothing important to do in this movie. What makes this movie so irritating even if you've watched DC superhero girls, the Teen Titans keep interrupting the adventure and focusing on stuff like ratings and this being a crossover. Although at the very end when they actually meet the girls, they have absolutely no important say in this. In the very very end the Justice League show is crossed over and even they are right about the Teen Titans being jokes having home video movies based on stuff like movies, space jam, and original teen titan crossovers.

What a blast hope we get season 2b or season 3 of DC Superhero Girls
talbright-506202 June 2022
Fun fact: this was originally going to be a dc superhero girls movie but, WB and cartoon network ask to put in TTG because its popular.

In other words TTG just got shoehorned in this movie just to promote season 8.

TTG and DC SHG
msingh-192324 July 2022
I liked the movie. I have no see much of both of the shows, but from the movie I could tell it was at least funny. I loved the characters and some of the usages of the characters and the development of the movie. The movie could of been better, but for what it was intended for I think it was a great movie.
