Having passed the half way mark this series of Torchwood continues to impress; Rex is desperate to expose what is happening in the camps; especially the murder of Doctor Vera Juarez; Gwen is still trying to get her father out of the Welsh camp and Jack is trying to uncover who knows what at PhiCorps. Jack's scenes might not be full of danger and excitement but they do advance the plot as he learns that even senior PhiCorp personnel don't know the whole story; he does however learn that something called 'The Blessing' happened some time before the events of Miracle Day. The action scenes take place in the camps where the camp commander is panicking after his murder of Dr. Juarez and it looks as if he might kill again to protect his secret.
During the first half of this episode I thought the makers had decided to scale back on the action for a bit to allow the plot to advance; it was back to the action with a vengeance in the second half as Esther and Rex are in mortal danger as the confront the Camp Commander while in Wales Gwen's actions have explosive resultsÂ… just as it looks as if things might be going well for the team for once Gwen receives a shocking message, which we will have to wait for the next episode to see resolved. The action scenes were gripping but I must admit that I enjoyed the earlier scenes more and can't wait to learn just what 'The Blessing' is.
