While October usually signals the arrival of all sorts of spooky, creepy, scary, and otherwise appropriately Halloween-themed films to both theaters and streaming services, this month’s batch of new titles on Netflix offers up a delightfully wide variety of choices that aren’t all tied to the year’s primary celebration of fear. Sure, those titles are there — from more mainstream chillers like “Cult of Chucky” and the new original “The Babysitter,” to more offbeat picks like the cannibal coming-of-age tale “Raw” and the seminal “Donnie Darko” — but this month’s incoming list has more than enough for movie fans who don’t want to shriek at their televisions.

Wilmer Valderrama makes Casanova look like The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Over the past decade or so, the suave Venezuelan-American has been linked to everyone from Jennifer Love Hewitt to Demi Lovato — at this point, he’s definitely better known as a prolific dater than as That ’70s Show’s goofy foreign-exchange student Fez. And according to a recently tweeted photo, it seems that Valderrama is currently Wilmering yet another gorgeous starlet: former Friday Night Lights actress — and Derek Jeter ex — Minka Kelly.

For the chill-seekers and Daniel Radcliffe fans out there, "The Woman in Black" is likely the must-see movie this weekend. The story revolves around young lawyer Arthur Kipps (Radcliffe), who stumbles upon a dark and mysterious phenomenon gripping a small town in England.
In celebration of the release of "Black," Radcliffe's first big post-"Harry Potter" movie (in which there isn't a wand or wizard in sight), we thought it would be a good time to check in with the rest of the Hogwarts alumni and look at their upcoming projects.
Daniel Radcliffe Radcliffe's next film role is poet Allen Ginsberg in the independent film "Kill Your Darlings," which is about how Ginsberg and fellow Beat Generation icons Jack Kerouac and Lucien Carr first met.

The latest 'Cinderella Story' premieres Jan. 22 on ABC Family, and HollywoodLife.com got the scoop straight from Megan! ABC Family viewers are used to seeing Megan Park play the good girl -- minus that one time she inadvertently killed her on-screen dad by having "incredible" pre-marital sex on The Secret Life of the American Teenager -- but they're in for a big surprise Jan. 22 when A Cinderella Story: Once Upon A Song premieres, finding Megan in full-on villain mode. "I'm excited for people to see me do something different," Megan tells HollywoodLife.com. "I haven't played this kind of role in a while." In the third installment of the Cinderella Story franchise, Megan plays the conniving Beverly Ravensway, who takes advantage of her vocally-gifted stepsister (Lucy Hale) with the help of her equally devilish mother (Missi Pyle.) Megan tell us she had an incredible experience working with both ladies. "I'm literally obsessed with her,...

The Cinderella model has been twisted to fit anything from sports films to basic dramas, and there’s never any guarantee whether the results will end up being good or even watchable. To that end, Warner Brothers has been chugging along with their A Cinderella Story series, which started with an original starring Hilary Duff and earned itself a theatrical release. Since then, Damon Santostefano has taken over at the helm and now the series only receives a direct-to-dvd debut as it continues to crank out stories taking advantage of each new generation of Disney songstress. Another Cinderella Story had Selena Gomez and now, with the most recent entry A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, they’ve got Lucy Hale, one talented singer amongst a few in the film, and a final product that entertains the children and is actually watchable by parents. That’s a rare claim for straight-to-video kids’ movies nowadays.

Everyone loves a Cinderella story, because it is perhaps the most romantic of scenarios when a young struggling heroine is noticed by a handsome prince whose love sweeps her away from her unhappy life to a fairytale existence. A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song is a modern retelling of the timeless tale and stars Lucy Hale as the resourceful and beleaguered young woman whose dreams do come true. The ABC Family Movie A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song will appeal to youngsters and entertain their parents. With bright and beautiful Lucy Hale playing the lead role of Katie whose dream to be a singer has little chance of coming true, and the hilarious Missi Pyle as...

With three revisionist Snow White movies in the works -- all of which reimagine a tougher princess who just doesn't wait on her prince to come -- her fellow fairytale princess Cinderella is the next subject of reimagination. Disney is working on a version with Mark Romanek (who just directed the Fox pilot Locke & Key starring Jesse McCartney). Now, Universal has hired Chronicles of Narnia scribe Ann Peacock to explore what she could do with a new take on the abused stepdaughter who finds her salvation in a prince. Of course, Cinderella has been revamped over and over again in the last decade with some of the movies/TV movies/DVDs including Ella Enchanted, Ever After, A Cinderella Story, Another Cinderella Story, and Cinderella III: A Twist in Time.
