Best so far
clodiafelix2 February 2011
I really like the way the show is shaping up. After initial doubts about Alex, I'm with him all the way.

This is the best episode so far in my opinion. I love the way the meta plot about the missing 10 million dollars is shaping up. You really want to know what happens next.

I love the chemistry between the characters, Steven, Danno. There are beginning to be some really good secondary characters we really want to see coming back. Why not some interaction (jealousy maybe?) from HPD.

But, like the original, the real star is Oahu itself: it's so beautiful, and I really, really want to go there! Bring H50 back next season please!

Jan. 23 Episode A Diversion ***1/2
edwagreen24 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The old trick among thieves and plotters: Create a diversion that shall throw everyone off while you really plan something big. The shocker is where the diversion is emanating from.

As always, Danno displays his wry humor and sarcastic wit. The guy, who is earning his Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor, is always there to provide comic relief, even when the going gets tough.

I love the way Hawaii goes on alert when a tsunami threatens. The sirens blare and everyone heads away from the beach. What made this episode so good was that it could be tied into a previous episode where our group may have done something unethical to protect one of their own. At least, that's been solved now.

Would be Tsunami Warning
shelbythuylinh10 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
But that over in the warning is not that. Over in such a hoax on it there. As that it was a kidnapping as the head of the operations that have been missing there. As that the team must investigate.

It is in the $10M that has in the saving Chin's life in the Christmas episode that comes into play with the case on it there.

As the Governor Jameison says all $28M were returned over to the HPD vault. As the team are disturbed as it may have something to do with Wo Fat?!

All that millions of dollars for the whole entire city to evacuate and turned out to be a false alarm? Great episode but what a waste to taxpayers and residents.

Could've been 10/10
lfreepartner11 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Plot from original Five-O recycled here but much improved.

Let us get the spoiler out of the way: tsunami is a hoax. In Five-O classic, the bad guys jack an announcer and the PA, jack an ambulance and steal some jewelry, committing a hit'n'run in the process.

In the current Five-O, the bad guys kidnap the scientist in charge of tsunami warnings, thereby jacking the whole system.

This time the bad guy worked all his life for the government only to be forced into early retirement and stripped of his pension.

His target? Money seized from drug dealers. Stashing it in sandbags amongst thousands of actual sandbags, he needs only to wait and once the area is evacuated, grab the cash.

Excellent plan. Righteous? Not so much. Mcgarrett points out, "You took an oath to serve your country no matter what."

Could've been 10/10 except for actor Brian Goodman. Fine actor of my generation but from his first frame I KNOW his character did something.

Nice to see other guest stars work it out and not end the episode with an improbable shootout.

Great show but can't stand 'Danno"
dideran1 December 2023
Really exciting episodes but Danno is annoying enough to make me quit. IMO the writers are overdoing it! His character is just so negative every episode. I don't think he contributes enough to warrant Steve's tolerance. I mean after awhile it's just unprofessional even from a made up script point of view. I thought it was neat to see 'Sebastian' (from NCIS NOLA) playing a character in the episode. Also good from a reality point of view. If a thing is connected to a signal it can be hacked. I mean imagine a fake asteroid warning? All about panic and possible chaos for heist capabilities! Someone will writ that someday, I bet!
