Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg sure seem to be loving the TV world. They've already developed the awesome AMC series Preacher and the upcoming Hulu show Future Man. Now they are set to produce and help develop two upcoming comedy series.
The first project is a superhero-themed show that is set up at Fox. It's being developed by Mike Rosolio (Lemmings), and it "centers on an ambitious MIT graduate who gets a job working for a Steve Jobs-esque tech genius, only to learn he’s also a vigilante superhero by night forcing her to become the unwitting Alfred to his Batman."
The second series is set up at ABC and focuses on the Illuminati, which is a society that a lot of conspiracy theorists love to talk about. That show is being developed by Brad Copeland (Life In Pieces, The Inbetweeners), and it "centers on a young couple struggles...

With a release date set for November 3rd 2017, it looks like the ball has started rolling on Thor: Ragnarok with The Wrap reporting that New Zealand director Taika Waititi (Eagle vs. Shark, What We Do in the Shadows) is in negotiations to helm the Thunder God’s second sequel, following Marvel Studios trend of choosing up and coming directors over established ones. Waititi (who has a history with comic book movies with a supporting role in Green Lantern) has made a name for himself in the world of t.v., helming episodes of The flight of the Conchords and The Inbetweeners, but he’s probably better known for last year’s vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows, which has gone on to be a cult hit. Having beat out Ruben Fleischer (Gangster Squad, Zombieland), Rawon Marshall (Dodgeball), and Rob Latterman (Goosebumps), Waititi is certainly the most unlikely choice Marvel Studios has made,...

Some movies just have you at hello (and if they don’t, they probably won’t ever get you), and The Intern is one of those films. Warner Bros. has released a new set of images, and they actually clue you in to more detail than the trailer, but further marketing for this one is probably a lost cause. If Robert De Niro showing up to be Anne Hathaway‘s intern doesn’t suck you in, you’re immovable.
If the added information that this one is written and directed by Nancy Meyers still doesn’t do anything for you, I don’t think there’s the slightest hope of reaching you.
As I said, the images reveal a bit more of the story, especially in the sense of De Niro and Hathaway appearing with a cute kid, but I don’t think that’s going to be big reveal...

Hulu has more stories to tell about an apathetic New York City dude who sees ghosts. The streaming video platform announced its original supernatural comedy series Deadbeat will return for a second season on April 20, 2015.
Deadbeat features Kevin (played by Tyler Labine), a medium who is competent at helping ghosts complete their unfinished business but utterly incapable of making his own life better. Season two will include special guest stars James Franco (who just signed on to star in Hulu’s upcoming adaptation of a Stephen King novel), Danny DeVito, Fred Armisen, Michael Ian Black, Zach Levi, Gilbert Gottfried, Finn Wittrock, and Jim Norton.
When Deadbeat debuted back in April 2014, we noted how Kevin’s lazy behavior and appearance appeals to the binge-watching, pot-smoking crowd. It seems appropriate, then, that Hulu has opted to release Deadbeat season two on 4/20, a day renowned for marijuana smoking. The teaser and key art...

Before we discuss John Mulaney, the fictional protagonist of Fox’s new comedy Mulaney, allow me to confess something about John Mulaney, the real-life comedian: I am a huge fan of his pre-sitcom work.
Ever since I saw him do a bit about Girl Scout cookies on Saturday Night Live — back when he wrote for the show and introduced us to Stefon, the gift that keeps on giving — I was hooked. I know his stand-up specials backwards and forwards (and regularly quote them). Needless to say, I was thrilled when Mulaney finally landed his own sitcom.

Turtle power saved the Australian box-office from experiencing another weak trading session last weekend while Boyhood and a Kiwi vampire spoof had handy debuts.
Action adventure/comedy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rustled up $2.1 million purely from previews, portending a sizable bow this Thursday.
The saga of a group of mutated warriors who face off against an evil kingpin who wants to take over New York, it stars Megan Fox and Will Arnett, who attended the premiere on Sunday at Hoyts Entertainment Quarter.
Paramount.s movie, which reportedly cost $125 million, seems to be resonating with older moviegoers who grew up with the Turtles in the 1980s and 90s and with kids who enjoy the Nickelodeon animated series.
Nationwide takings improved by 4% to $10 million, according to Rentrak.s estimates, although only three titles earned more than $1 million.

Russell Brand, Sasha Pieterse ("Pretty Little Liars") and 17 year-old Austin Abrams ("The Inbetweeners") are in talks to star in Werner Herzog's next film "Vernon God Little" at Canana Films.
Based on Dbc Pierre's 2003 debut novel, the story is set in a small Texan border town. A violent school shooting is perpetrated by a bullied loner who guns down six classmates and then himself.
Vernon (Abrams), his only friend, not only witnesses the suicide he then becomes a suspect in the shootings. Despite the dark subject matter, the tone is said to be that of a satirical black comedy about America's fame and violence obsessions.
Brand would play a charming but manipulative reporter who is willing to betray anyone in order to get a fresh angle on the story. Pieterse plays the beautiful but self-absorbed object of Vernon’s affections.

While it.s impossible to find an iota of humor in the school shootings that occasionally occur here in the U.S., novels and films have a way of adding levity and darkly comedic sensibilities to any form of subject matter one can think of. Case in point: Dbc Pierre.s 2003 debut novel Vernon God Little is a satirical Man Booker Prize-winning look at the aftermath of a high school massacre, and was previously announced as the next film from the often-challenging filmmaker Werner Herzog. Three of the film.s leads are nearly locked in place, as comedian Russell Brand, Pretty Little Liars actress Sasha Pieterse and Austin Abrams of MTV.s The Inbetweeners are all in talks to join the cast. I can.t wait to hear the outspoken Brand.s promotional campaign for this one. Set in Martirio, Texas, Vernon God Little centers on the titular character and...

The show which fuelled a lot of childhood daydreams, Knight Rider, is one step closer to a big screen outing. While there’s been a threat of a new take on the hit show, it looks like now there’s traction to the rumours. The Los Angeles Times reports that The Weinstein Company have brought writer Brad Copeland onto the project to pen the script.
Copeland has been attached to a number of TV shows. Scribbling episodes for the original Arrested Development run, he also worked on the Us version of British comedy The Inbetweeners for MTV. His big screen outings, Wild Hogs and Yogi Bear, might not convince but his 2012 indie flick Coffee Town proves he ain’t just in it for the moola.

The big screen take on Knight Rider moves a step closer, as Brad Copeland is hired to pen the script...
One of the consequences of the massive success of the Fast & Furious movie franchise is that movies with cars, particular with cars that are capable of moving at speed, are getting through the Hollywood system just a little easier. For instance, in 2014, we're getting a movie based on the Need For Speed videogames, and there's the small matter of Fast & Furious 7 next summer.
And it seems as though plans are still afoot to bring Knight Rider to the big screen too. The Weinstein Company picked up the rights to the TV series, and have reportedly now hired Brad Copeland to pen a draft screenplay for a film based on it. Exclusive: Bad Advice From My Brother, a half-hour comedy project based on Jordan Pope Roush’s blog of the same name, has received a cast-contingent pilot order from Comedy Central, where the project was originally set up last April. Written/executive produced by Roush and executive produced by Brad Copeland (The Inbetweeners), the project follows the adventures of two brothers: Jason, the older, not necessarily wiser brother who has spent most of his post-college life chasing women and the almighty dollar on Wall Street, and Ben, his younger brother, who moves to Manhattan to live with Jason. Jason sees this as an opportunity to reflect on his mistakes and steer Ben onto an opposite path. Unfortunately for Ben, Jason’s advice is usually misguided and creates more problems than solutions. The pickup brings the project full circle. Roush originally intended to write Bad Advice, which is based on his relationship...

Nick Robinson ("Melissa and Joey," left), Moises Arias ("Hannah Montana," right) and Gabriel Basso (Super 8 and "Fake Freddie" on "iCarly") are the stars of Toy's House, a movie about teen boys who run away from home and live in a treehouse they built in the woods outside of town. The dark comedy is a favorite at this year's Sundance Film Festival and director Jordan Vogt-Roberts said he got the idea when he saw the Will Ferrell movie Step Brothers, and thought instead of middle aged men acting like teenage boys, it would be funny if teen boys tried to act like men. He also drew upon his own life, telling The Wrap that growing up he'd hang out at his friend's house whose parents were divorced, "During the summer we had run of his house because his mom worked. I thought it would be fun to literalize the idea of kids running a household.

MTV has decided to cancel The Inbetweeners after one season and 12 episodes. While the original UK series was a hit overseas, the American version never caught on with a substantial audience.

The writing was on the wall for the comedy, which had soft ratings and recently saw its biggest supporters — head of programming David Janollari and co-head of scripted Clay Spencer — depart in an executive shake-up at the cable network that had Susanne Daniels taking over as new programming chief. Besides Teen Wolf — which had big-name recognition and even bigger marketing muscle behind it, including a premiere behind the MTV Movie Awards — and comedy Awkward, MTV has not been able to make a scripted series stick. Being a teenager is pretty hard for everyone, but no one makes it look more difficult than the hapless foursome at the center of MTV's "Inbetweeners."
In the upcoming episode (Mon., Oct. 29 at 10:30 p.m. Et on MTV), virginal Will (Joey Pollari) is trying to convince the object of his affection to have sex with him, but she refuses to take his virginity because she thinks it will make him clingy and obsessive. Thus begins an unlikely (but admittedly hilarious) quest for Will to find someone to have sex with so that his crush will finally have sex with him. Was high school always this complicated?

Zap2it has an exclusive sneak peek of the episode, titled "The Field Trip." In the episode, the boys head to a Civil War battlefield with their class... but they may have to engage in a battle of their own.
