Hawaii 5-0 Episode 13 Keeps it Strictly in the Family ***1/2
edwagreen4 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Very good episode where we return to the situation of Steve McGarrett's mother being killed. When Mary,Steve's sister does her own investigation, she is kidnapped and it takes the highly skilled Steve and Danno to free her earlier in the show.

The woman who portrays Mary talks like she is a former or current drug user. Steve shows his faithfulness to the wayward sister he has rarely seen since the death of their parents.

No wonder Scott Caan has been nominated for a best supporting actor Golden Globe. While he probably shall not win, his timing is excellent and his biting lines with hand gestures are all quite memorable.

This episode ends where we will still be searching for more clues and a finality to the situation.

Engrossing how a major bad guy has been a tremendous campaign contributor for our female governor and has brought jobs to Hawaii. Before she finally comes to her senses, the governor was ready to put jobs and finances ahead of what he has done.

Seeing Steve's Nemesis Wo Fat For the Very First Time
shelbythuylinh10 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Played by Mark Dasascos who can be a martial artist and a great actor there. Still he is a great nemesis to Alex's McGarrett.

Still it seems the Governor is not being truthful as the great Cary Hiroyuki Tagawa as not just a politician and a contributor and friend to Jameson but also the head of the mob in Hawaii.

We learn that Steve's father John was killed due to investigating the mob and that the mob needed him to die to get him off their backs and Steve was forced at first to return to Hawaii.

Still the team is growing closer and closer. Really missed the four core after Daniel and Grace left in 2017.

The Best New Hawaii 5-0 Episode
dennis_chiu13 January 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This is the penultimate episode of the first season. It is the intersect between classic Hawaii Five-0 and the new Hawaii 5-0, where McGarrett, Danno, the Governor, and the legendary Five- 0 villain Wo Fat reach a crossroads, where none can turn away from a collision course.

In this fast paced and well-scripted juggernaut teleplay, it is impossible to take your eyes off of the action and foreboding realization that a central story line will conclude and herald the start of the colossal battle between McGarrett and Wo Fat. I was so engrossed that I watched the episode only a couple commercials behind, where normally, I would have watched it after it had been fully recorded.

I highly recommend this episode for anyone who wants to know whether the new Hawaii Five-0 is worth watching.
