Garbage

I have never reviewed a movie on IMDb before. This inspired me to do so. To be fair, I could not make it past the 20 minute mark, and a review should be by someone who has watched the movie in its entirety, however, I believe if a movie is SO BAD you can't even sit through it, that itself says something.

Kudos to the people who suffered through it, giving it a chance, but my husband and I couldn't find the remote fast enough! We enjoy stupid humor, but there's a difference between intentionally stupid and just plain dumb. B movies can be great if they're done the right way, this wasn't even B movie quality. Z maybe. The attempts at humor (that I saw) could have been written by a 10 year old who finds farts hysterical. Not just funny, fall-on- the-floor annoying funny. The story could have been good if it was written better, and maybe it got better later, but I didn't stick around to find out.

A few people who actually wasted their lives on this trash gave much more in depth reviews. They can explain better why you shouldn't subject yourself to such drivel. Heed their warnings!

Lost a few brain cells attempting to endure this

Michael and Courtney are a couple with trouble in the bedroom due to an overtly horny mostly unseen demon pleasing Courtney nightly in this completely laugh-free spoof of Paranormal Activity (which is sadly threatening to become its own sub-genre as of late)

The two leads lack chemistry or comedic timing, the later might've even been disconcerting had the writing been anything above the sub-par crap that it is. The sheer fact that I sat through it all speaks more to my sheer boredom than anything else or perhaps hopeless positivity that this would get better (ie. vaguely watchable) Spoiler alert: it does not. This awfulness is streaming on Netflix currently but I advise you to steer clear of it.

Where did the comedy go...?

For a spoof on the "Paranormal Activity" movie and that type of genre in general, then "Paranormal Whacktivity" was fairly boring and uneventful. And actually for a comedy, then "Paranormal Whacktivity" was frightfully devoid of laughs and funny moments.

The story is about a young couple that have moved into a new house, but there is something in the house with them. The woman is never in the mood to be intimate with the guy, who is in turn always in the mood. They seek out the help of a psychic to find out more about the demonic entity that is haunting the house.

I will say that the movie did have potential, in regards to the story, especially because it is usually always nice with a spoof movie. However, nothing just clicked in this movie, and the jokes were lame and lacking humor. I can honestly say that I didn't laugh a single time throughout the entire movie. Yet, still I watched the movie to the end, because it might just pull out something surprising.

But it didn't.

Production-wise, then "Paranormal Whacktivity" was actually quite good, and the acting was adequate - not great - but adequate. And also effects-wise, then the movie was alright. Not superb or spectacular in any way, though, mind you.

However, it was just really difficult to find anything overly enjoyable about this movie. And truth be told, then there are some much better "Paranormal Activity" spoofs available.

not good at all

It's finally there, a spoof on the paranormal activity franchise. Spoofs as far as I know never worked out fine, well, maybe Scary Movie part 1 (2000) did. This time as the title says that will attract men. And that's what it's all about, making love with a girl and making a home video.

But slowly the house is making noises, and they do find sexy things. From there on, it's all about misunderstandings and talking about sex. Well, there were scene's that made me laugh but others were typical spoof jokes from the worst kind. You know, teenagers will have a big laugh with the stupidity.

Of course you will be rewarded to sit through this around the 40 minute, gratuitous nudity. But after that this flick falls into boredom. By now you have seen it all and the jokes do return and it even got uglier. The fart jokes are coming to you. The avatar part wasn't funny at all. The attic part was rather good. But overall, a waist of time.

A bad soft porn parody of the terrible Paranormal Activity films.

Michael and Kasey move into an uncle's house. Michael tries to make a sex film with Kasey, and does not do all that well. Then there is the film over the film aspect: Michael hires a professional porn crew to make the sex film. These people re-enter and leave every so often.

Things go bump in the night, and they film some of it, usually ineffectively. Their attempts to get rid of the demon are pitiful.

The film mimics various parts of the Paranormal Activity series, for comic effect, supposedly. 'There was something in this bed giving you head.' Oh, my. Other parts of the film parody other films, such as Ghost Busters, or any number of soft porn shows.

The Ernie Hudson impersonator was not at all funny or entertaining. This describes all of the vignettes that compose the film. The fake Inception bit was the worst.

Cinematography: 10/10 Excellent camera work throughout.

Sound: 10/10 No problems.

Acting: 0/10 Zero. None present.

Screenplay: 0/10 The primary question about parodies is, 'did it make me laugh?' The answer is no, not once, not at all.

Challenging to make it past the first 15 minutes.

I really wish there was a 0/10 option for garbage like this... This movie didn't make me laugh one time, in fact, it made my head hurt after about 15 minutes.

It looks like a couple 12 year olds shot this movie with a cellphone with the worst possible actors.

I understand these parody movies aren't gonna be great films but is it too much to ask to just be able to sit through it..because I wasn't able to do that with this crap.

Granted I did get to see this crap for free, but it was still a waste of an hour and a half I could of spent doing anything else.

Please save yourself the trouble of sitting through an hour and a half of this garbage and go watch paint dry...I promise you it would be a lot more funny than this movie.

Insulting

This movie is so awful that it inspired me to register here at IMDb and write a review out of spite. I sat before my TV transfixed in utter horror as this film played from beginning to end.

What can laughingly be called a plot unfolds when a couple moves into a house haunted by a demon. These two don't seem to have a very healthy relationship no matter how many times they claim to care for each other. This movie concentrates on the sexual aspect of things where, stop me if you've heard this before, the man is constantly aroused and the woman is less than thrilled about it. His goal for the entire movie is simply to film a porn with his girlfriend. "Hilarity" ensues.

They partake in the usual spoof fare of flatulence jokes and rambling skits one would expect to find written by a particularly deficient 12 year old. Where this movie really earns my own personal hatred is with the would-be main character. Any man with the least bit of self-respect will feel utter contempt for this character while watching him worship and sacrifice for a woman who shows nothing but disdain for his efforts.

In the end, they exorcise the demon and get their happy ending. I give this film a rating of 2 because every element except the writing and acting is passable. The audio and video are both clear and show some level of understanding about cinema. Nothing else is praiseworthy. Please don't watch this movie lest you end up transfixed as I was.

Very Unfunny

If you are like me, or most people, your time is valuable, even leisure time. You only have so much leisure time and it can't be wasted watching pointless drivel.

You might ask: "What do you think parodies are all about? You're not watching a potential Oscar nominee." Yes, I know that. I've watched plenty of enjoyable parodies (although far more un-enjoyable ones) and this happens to be one of the worst. Even watching bad parodies I can stomach 10 to 15 minutes of it. I think I got through two minutes of this waste of celluloid.

Very unfunny, very vulgar... and it's not unfunny because it was vulgar. It was vulgar in an attempt to be funny but it was a miserable failure.

This is so bad, I can't explain just how God-awful it is. If I could have rated it lower than 1 star, I would have. Let's just say I give it -100 stars. It's just awful.

It failed miserably. I was ok with it for a little while but then the wheels fell off. It's 30 minutes too long and is just stupid.

The timeless classic

This movie is undoubtedly the greatest form of art I have ever witnessed. For starters, I find the character of the horny ghost unbelievably relatable. The way the ghost just wants to get that mad p&$$y, yet deals with unrealistic expectations that society has brought-en upon him, creates diverse movie experience. Another point that is somewhat easy to make is the extreme beauty of the female lead. She had my heart pounding every moment she grazed the screen. Overall, Paranormal Whacktivity is one of the greatest movies out there for some family fun.

Rating : 10/10.

Michael (William Patrick Riley) and Kasey (Sasha Formoso) have sex issues, in that they don't have sex since moving into her uncle's house. A demon satisfies Kasey while she is asleep, so she doesn't want sex, while Michael chokes a barnyard full of chickens. The film consists of them attempting to film themselves having sex for which Michael hires various production assistants, union men to light off fireworks, and a fluffer (Aneliese Roettger). They are also trying to get rid of the demon.

The movie falls flat. The humor is idiotic and not in a good way. The nudity is light, which needed to be pumped due to the lack of humorous scenes. The film attempts to be sexy with minimum nudity, but doesn't make it. It is not an inspirational spoof.

For instance, one of the better jokes was when someone says, "There's a tiger in your bathroom." Michel runs up to find a Tiger Woods look-a-like sitting on the bowl. By the time that gag happened, I knew what he would find when he got there. I guess if you are 18 and haven't been seen a comedy before, you might find it funny. I found it pitiful.

Not funny.. I've never EVER! Written a good or a bad review.. but this movie is my first time.. I have to admit i barely got to the 30min mark but it's just so damn stupid.. I can't get the fact that the guy is just trying to record everything and trying to act all funny by "this should be on my movie" like dude come on.. and i know its a comedy movie but where did all the comedy go.. well thanks y'all greetings from rgv south texas!!!

Funny entertaining spoof Paranormal Whacktivity

I love spoofs and give this one a good rating! At first I was a little skeptical since others have done similar spoofs. At the end I found it very funny and entertaining. I m not going too much in detail but it's a totally different kind of film. Some jokes are very clever and target an older more sophisticated audience who enjoy comedy skits. Yes they are making fun of Paranormal Activity in general and other big movies but there is a lot more to it. I think producer's main goal was to parody the film making process of indie films. As we can see you don't need to spend millions to make a funny film. And this is why I give them a good review!

Paranormal Whacktivity Great Spoof Funny Entertaining Film

We just got a chance to watch the screener of Paranormal Whacktivity. This is another spoof of Paranormal Activity. Unlike, other spoofs the quality of this film is pretty good considering this is an independent very low budget production. The film runs very quick its only 89 minutes long which is great for a comedy.The movie is a little more mature and has a lot of cool relationship jokes targeting a more grown up audience rather then fart jokes like in some other spoofs. It's OK to watch this spoof with your girlfriend or wife and have some good laughs. The couple in this spoof works on their "demon" issues and most couples can relate. We recommend you download, rent, or purchase your DVD scheduled for USA release November 5th, 2013.
