Jean Reno wants to be remembered as a philosopher

Warning: Spoilers
"The Philosopher" is a 15-minute live action short film from 2010 and it is the first directorial effort by Abdulla Al Kaabi. It is also his most known and that is mainly due to the fact that the lead actor is Jean Reno, one of France's most popular for a really long time, but also thanks to the awards attention it got perhaps. The film is with French actors only, but they went for English language to make it more appealing abroad I guess. In here, around the age of 60, his character decides that he wants to be remembered for being a philosopher most of all (and not for bring a martial artist). But his attempts to become a person of the mind prove relatively unsuccessful as his ambition to do without money and other worldly aspects in favor of sticking to more existential and less tangible really needs a while for adjusting. Maybe somebody can help him with his endeavor? It may not exactly be what Reno's character was aiming for, but he finds something pretty precious eventually. I may be biased as I like Reno a lot usually, but I felt that it was a fairly decent little movie overall. If you are a fan of the lead actor too, feel free to watch it. If not, it's up to you and you can also skip it as real moments of greatness you won't find in here.
