This episode establishes Alan's middle name: Jerome.
A scene involving role playing near the end with Erinn Hayes and Jon Cryer had to have post primary photography editing to remove a symbol which CBS found objectionable. The symbol was on Erinn Hayes and had to be altered.
After eight seasons, Alan is shown still sleeping on a foldout couch, almost as if the house has only one bed. Yet Charlie's home is in Malibu, California, where his type of beach house sells for millions and would have about six bedrooms. Other than Alan, Charlie is living in that six-bedroom house by himself, meaning that he only needs one bed for himself (and his rotating sexual partners who spend the night). It makes little sense that five bedrooms would sit empty and idle while Charlie's brother slept on a couch. Yet when the foldout couch malfunctions and Alan needs another bed, he sleeps in Charlie's bed rather than in one of the five unoccupied bedrooms - again, almost as if the writers thought the large house had only one bed.
Episode title spoken by Alan, to Gretchen (Erinn Hayes).
