This is one of the funniest, if not the funniest episode of "The Mentalist". Jane's interactions with the Judge, the Doctor, and the Security chief are hilarious.

The Funeral
claudio_carvalho29 December 2021
On the day of the funeral of her mother, Judge Pauline Fitwilliam learns that her daughter Abby is missing, and her boyfriend Austin Marr was murdered in the guest room stabbed to death. Lisbon and Patrick go to the mansion to investigate the case and the judge believes the white supremacist Raymond Tubbs, who has threatened her in court, is the responsible for the murder and abduction. They unsuccessfully follow many leads and Patrick believes Abby is dead and her body is hidden in the estate.

"Pink Chanel Suit" is a silly episode with many funny scenes. The best one is the shameless Patrick putting coins in the pocket of Whiteside, the chief of the security guard. The scene in the Pauline's mother wake is ridiculous. My vote is seven.

A police drama without legal sense
nemesis-886 May 2022
Judge Fitzwilliam says she "knows what's happened here". As it turns out "three months ago" she "sentenced a white supremacist to 40 years without parole". And that's where the whole story falls apart. The judge does NOT send anyone to jail for any period of time. Jury does. The judge merely sets the exact prison time based on pretty tight boundaries set in the sentencing guidelines. So why would the defendant be angry at the judge!?

VERY weak writing for this episode. Every famous TV show now has the same problem - it starts falling apart in Season 3. I have an idea. How about just replace the entire writers team after Season 2? How hard can it be?
