The Defenders- The 2 Quirky Guys Still Pay Off ****
edwagreen7 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This quirky Jim Belushi is showing how being that way can really pay off. His performances have been great and he knows how to tackle a jury with his unusual methodology.

His partner realizes that a young college student is lying to conceal the fact that he was attempting to buy drugs. Due to this, one defendant has already been sentenced to 9 years and things don't look good when the 2nd defendant goes on trial for robbery as well. Our young guy comes to his manly senses and admits the truth but in the process he fingers O'Connell for attempting to tell him to lie about everything. This becomes a real battle of ethics with his girlfriend, the prosecuting attorney. The ending is so appropriate.

Belushi defends a nurse-to-be who is accused of solicitation. The man knows how to mold a jury.

Starting to Hit The Mark
DKosty1237 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
After watching this one, I think the writers are starting to hit the mark on the scripts here. While there are some legal stretches in this episode, they are done with very good dramatic effect. The two case format is coming along well.

Belushi appears to be getting more comfortable with his role. He is starting to show a lot of promise in his role here as he has to save his partner from a woman DA who is presented as a "pit bull" in court out to do anything to win her cases. This one continues a story line from episode 1 with the latest chapter with Belushi's partners affair with this "pit bull".

Belushi & his separated wife continue sparring in this one too. The writers seem to be doing a good job giving all the players in the cast to perform. This is getting to be a series to watch.
