Corruption
lassegalsgaard23 February 2021
If for anything, this episode was worth it just for the scene where an old man steals a child's drinking water. That is all you need to know about this episode. I think Mandalore may be the most corrupt place in the galaxy, despite its constant reminder to the audience that it is a neutral system. With that said, this was quite a thrilling episode. I liked the team-up of Padmé and Satine and it felt like a nice change-of-pace from some other episodes that have either been action-packed, or a little boring. This had those spy thriller themes that I really love. They have done a great job of making politics interesting, where the prequels really failed with that. I think this episode could have done it a little better, but for what I got, I was thoroughly entertained.

Sadly boring...

The Clone Wars is an excellent TV show, but it does have some weak episodes. This is one of them. There really isn't that much going on. Satine and Padme talking about trade routes is really uninteresting and boring. Trade Routes weren't interesting in The Phantom Menace, so why would you try it here? Also, a conspiracy about poisoning kids is a really dumb plot point and seems like a desperate attempt to add some form of excitement to this episode. Overall, a weak episode. Definitely one of the worst episodes in the show.

Unwanted bug
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic6 August 2020
To be blunt this episode is boring compared to the usual entertaining episodes and is a pretty pointless filler.

Black market trading leads to unscrupulous flouting of food standards and a stomach bug outbreak. It is hardly material one expects or wants from Star Wars and there are also a few aspects that are not done well.

However, it is not really bad overall as it has okay dialogue, some nice animation of Mandalore and is part of a building tension in the storyline of Mandalore which builds to later stories.

I certainly cannot judge it as awful but it is just a waste of an episode and political/social tensions on Mandalore could have been portrayed in a better, more interesting way. Alternatively just give us a 20 minute lighsaber duel anytime you want to pad things out and I'd be well happy. No need for stuff like this to be done in a dull story.

My rating: 5/10.

Completely Lost Me

I took this episode as a "girl power" episode. Which is fine, women do need strong heroine roles for the kids, but man, it's so bad. The absurdity when the Dutches asks her men to burn down the warehouse and they pull flamethrowers out from their police vehicles, everyone acting surprised like it wasn't planned to bring two military Grade flame throwers along. The plot was pretty weak over all. Stop the poison tea smugglers on Mandalor. There's no mystery. We see what's going on at the start of the episode and follow two politicians along as they find out what we already know. Who cares?!

A rare weak point

This episode doesn't fit into the rest of the show and serves no purpose. It is one of the most boring episodes too.

Weak and unneeded episode with two insufferable SFCs
Badger121029 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is a very weak and poorly written episode. In fact nearly every episode where SFC (Strong female character), Padme, is prominent, the story is weak and her character is so insufferable. Most of this episode shows men being bad or indifferent to corruption but SFCs knows better than anyone and always have the moral high-ground. This ultimately shows up at the end when the duchess wants evidence to a crime burned because it is bad. When they show characters with this morality the activist writers are actually saying they want a benevolent dictator to get things done. The problem, there is no such thing. Overall, the series is great but this one tarnished the product.

Enough with the bland "conspiracy" plotlines
thegreendrinker12 March 2024
This series continues to redundantly put out plotlines where someone (usually Padme) has to uncover some kind of conspiracy resulting from political corruption. Padme is not as three-dimensional as she should be, but the main issue with her plotlines is that, instead of delving in to complex political schemes, they always result in her trying to uncover some blandly evil scheme to make money. The investigations themselves feature little intrigue so they aren't interesting from that perspective and the antagonists who came up with each scheme are more blandly evil separatists. (Slight side note: will the show ever delve in to why the separatists want to "separate" in the first place? Or will they just continue to be bad for the sake of being bad).
