Funny College Humor!!!
gehenna-241899 April 2015
Tetherball the Movie is your typical funny and ridiculously inappropriate college humor movie. This movie definitely reminds me of a MTV movie with way more BOOB action! This includes man BOOBS as well thanks to some hefty co-stars LOL!!! It is a funny movie to watch with your guy friends or cool chicks who enjoy stupid guy humor (dick punches...dick jokes...dick etc...). I think you get the POINT no pun intended. The added bonuses to this movie were of course having actors Ron Jeremy and Dustin Diamond engage with the boys. I enjoyed the insults and sick humor, and I was able to take away some dirty jokes for myself LOL. Dustin Diamond's character seemed to use improv some of the time, which made his scenes pretty funny and authentic. Ron Jeremy was sleazy and made things really uncomfortable by hitting on the main character Zach in the movie. I don't want to give anything away but Ron Jeremy probably played himself the entire time LOL!!! To be honest this may not have been the best movie, but not the worst either...I guess you will have to just watch for yourself 😁!!!

A New Leauge of Athletes

Warning: Spoilers
Tetherball is a fun sports comedy that plays with the Americana story of the "underdog." The story is about three friends who all work at the same telemarketing company. Each character has their own problem: Zack wants to get the girl, Alex wants to get a girl in sheeps clothing (as you'll see in the film), and Mike has a bit of a drinking problem. The three set out on a journey to find what is next for them, and after a quick tetherball game after work one day, they quickly realize that starting a professional league for the backyard sport is the answer.

Enter the greedy, and bad guy personas of Jack and Vince White (father and son). Millionaires who want to use the now popular web-leaked league for their own gain. Soon the three telemarketers are now the league MVPs, managed by their somewhat nerdy "friend" Joe (Mike's brother and their boss at the telemarketing company) and suicidal coach (played by Dustin Diamond, Screech from Saved By The Bell). SPOILER ALERT...once Zack and the rest of the team realizes that the league is just a disgusting bet between the league owners, they begin contemplating quitting, and start losing their tetherball stardom. The entire film wraps up with a final showdown between the league's best teams, and Zack, Alex, Mike, & Joe must decide if they want to live in the moment or accept defeat.

The characters in 'Tetherball' are hilarious and original. Although this is a genre that you may have seen before, it bodes various comedic scenes that you've never laid eyes on. SPOILER ALERT...If you enjoy raunchy humor comparative to the 'American Pie' films, and love the American underdog story, then you'll adore 'Tetherball.' It breathes new life into cinematic slapstick, and the charm of a good belly laugh. The film also has Ron Jeremy playing Jack White, and Dan Severn as a sports announcer for the league.

I didn't want to like it..... BUT IT DID!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I got my copy of this film on Amazon, I haven't seen any reviews on this film (other then the ones on here), but I figured that the film was going to suck..... I couldn't have been any further from the truth.

Yes the film is Low Budget, but I thought that the performances from the 4 leads were pretty awesome. The two bigger guys definitely have the dynamics of Chris Farley and John Candy... if they were brothers :) Rob Fender, who played Alex is my favorite type of character in a film... he is the type of character that DOESN'T LEARN A DAMN THING, but who says that a character needs to. Finally, I am interested to see where Rick Dawson's career takes him, (not gay) but he is handsome, funny, and charismatic... definitely the best (Non-"Star" Performance).

I REALLY THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO HATE DUSTIN DIAMOND... but this guy was INCREDIBLE. Even though he was only in the film for 10 Minutes, he definitely showed that he is a hybrid actor that could play a dramatic role if need be.

Who could Forget.... RON JEREMY. He plays the flamboyantly gay villain alongside his Bi-Sexual son (alongside the living Van Wilder, Johnny Lechner)... I've never seen Ron play a gay dude (I have seen him suck a ****... his own). I really think that Ron Jeremy deserves one LEADING Role in a Studio Film after watching this movie.

Overall, the story is one that we have seen a 100x (like most sports comedies), however I like the subtle differences. Also, I couldn't help but feel good after I saw the ending.

I highly recommend seeing this movie :)

Great Drinking Movie
screenwrita176 October 2011
For a beer and boobs comedy, what more can you ask for? This is a great movie to get the guys together and knock back a few brews while watching, and you'll have no problem getting wasted, as this movie is ripe with drinking game possibilities. Besides getting smashed, enjoy some genuinely funny performances from Ron Jeremy, Dustin Diamond, and the rest of the cast. All the characters are cast perfectly and each have their own stand-out moments. I was especially impressed with Brian Titus' role. He had great comedic timing and took a role that could have been easily forgettable and made it stand out. The action scenes were cut very well, especially the boxing scenes in the beginning with Rick Dawson. For the most part, you can't really tell it was shot on a low budget, although there were a few scenes that seemed to be added later with a cheaper camera. Overall, Tetherball: The Movie is successful in its intentions and delivers what it promises. There is beer, there are hot girls, and there are laughs.

A great movie
markfosterclan14 November 2011
"Tetherball" A great story about four guys struggling and to wanting to make it big. Finally an opportunity comes their way in the form of a childhood game; tetherball. A professional Tetherball league is formed, and our hero's soon become fan favorites. Any great team needs a great coach, and the boys find one in Coach McAger played brilliantly by Dustin Diamond. Along the way they must overcome personal hardships. One roadblock to their success is an devious father and son duo played by Ron Jermey and Johnny Lechner. While in the middle of trying to win the league championship Zach ( Rick Dawson) is also trying to win the heart of Sara ( Kirstie Munoz) but she is weary of Zach intentions. Rounding out Zach's team are Alex (Rob Fender) a bigger player off the court than on the court. Joe (Brian Titus) who is having love problems of his own, and Mike ( Jonathan Alderman) whose love comes in brown bottles. A fast paced funny movie. It seems like you just put the CD in and it's over. Well worth watching a second time.
