Blue Bloods-Episode 2- Terror on Flatbush Ave. Remember Bernie Goetz? ****
edwagreen3 October 2010
Warning: Spoilers
This excellent show continues with a group of punks robbing a subway train in Brooklyn and assaulting people. While all this is going on, a mild mannered man reads a book, but when he sees a woman passenger about to be raped, he springs into action and shoots one of the culprits.

Unfortunately, our vigilante was involved in a robbery years back at age 18 and got the gun he used illegally. Otherwise, it appears that he has truly done society a favor.

The head of the gang has terrorized Flatbush, Brooklyn and the police are out to get him. Danny Reagan provides excellent detective work in eventually apprehending this hoodlum.

The Commissioner's girlfriend is active in this episode as the vigilante had surrendered to her. Family dinner is again a scene where the family debates what this man has done.

There is a strong family tie here.

Shades of Goetz
bkoganbing4 August 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Shades of the Bernard Goetz case are in this Blue Bloods episode as a gang of punks take over a Flatbush IRT train in Brooklyn and terrorize the passengers when shooting breaks out. Several of the punks are wounded, but the leader escapes and vows all kinds of vengeance via the internet. Something gangs didn't have back then. How these idiots don't realize that their internet postings are law enforcement's best tool these days. It's of course Donnie Wahlberg's case.

Frankie Faison who was carrying the weapon because he carries large amounts of cash in his job is the doer. He's worried and rightly so about being in one nasty jackpot. He has more to worry about than law enforcement as it turns out.

Blue Bloods was off to a nice start in its first season.
