Sex & Nudity

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Season 4 deals extensively with the trauma of a main character, who is strongly hinted to have PTSD. The flashbacks this character has include getting attacked by a ghost-like figure and drowning; these flashbacks can be disturbing and frightening to viewers.
  • There are multiple scenes throughout the show that can be considered very intense and frightening in nature.
  • The series includes themes such as social unrest, civil war, terrorism, anarchism, murder, and suicide.
  • This show deals with very serious themes and occasionally depicts somewhat intense acts of violence.

Violence & Gore

  • In season 3 and 4, korra gets poisoned and has a PTSD like problem. This makes her get weaker in fights and constantly get hit
  • Some characters can manipulate others by "blood-bending," causing them great harm this causes their movements to seem unnatural. This can be disturbing. In one episode of Season 1, a father makes his two sons "blood-bend" a pack of wolves. In the same episode the father makes his sons "blood-bend" each other.
  • There is one murder-suicide at the end of Season 1. It is depicted on-screen, though it is caused by an explosion, and the viewer only sees the explosion from afar.
  • One of the main villains of Season 2 almost beats his brother to death during a fight. It is mildly graphic.
  • The final battle of Season 2 - though not very graphic can get somewhat intense.
  • The main villain of Season 3 kills a significant character by suffocating said character with airbending. The scene is arguably the most graphic in the series, as the show does not cut away from the murder. At one point, the "camera" does a closeup of the suffocating characters face, showing her eyes red and bulging from oxygen depravation but does not show her dead on the floor.
  • One of the most well-liked characters in the show is nearly beaten to death in Season 3 when the main villains gang up on him and proceed to attack him from all sides.
  • One of the main villains of Season 3 is killed in an extremely violent way, when a metal plating is enclosed around her head, and an explosion goes off inside, blowing her head off. Though the scene cuts off at the very last second before the explosion, the implications about how the villain died are made very clear to the viewer.
  • The main character is poisoned in the Season 3 finale, The entire scene Can be violent, arguably the most intense in the series. It depicts the main character writhing and screaming in pain.
  • One of the main villains of Season 3 is killed when a well-liked character electrifies the pond of water where the villain is standing on. The scene is mildly graphic, as it fully depicts the electrocution.
  • One of the main villains of Season 3 commits suicide by collapsing the cave he's in. Not graphic, as the only thing shown is the cave collapsing.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some characters hold the ability to 'blood bend' characters. When a character is being blood bended, they're movements are unnatural and can be disturbing.
  • The main villain of Season 1 can be frightening to younger children under 5. He wears a mask, and is very mysterious. The main character has several nightmares involving him.
  • A lengthy flashback reveals a dark and somewhat disturbing past for one of the main characters. The entire flashback can be intense.
  • An important character commits a murder-suicide in Season 1 by purposefully blowing up the boat that he and his brother are riding (just shows explosion from afar).
  • The spirits depicted in Season 2 vary wildly in character design. While some spirits are harmless and cute, others are grotesque, some can be frightening and very intimidating in nature.
  • The main villain of Season 3 kills an important character by suffocating said character with air bending
  • The main character of the show is poisoned,when poison is forcefully introduced in her body. It depicts in detail not just the forceful poisoning, but also the main character's subsequent suffering as a result of the poison.
  • The main character ends up confined to a wheelchair (though not permanently) by the end of Season 3 as a result of the poisoning and fight that took place during the finale.
