Darnell Dawkins: Mouth Guitar Legend is a mock rockumentary, presented in the style of Behind The Music, and following Darnell Dawkins, the worlds best, and only mouth guitar legend. This movie is presented in a series of flashbacks, as well as faux interviews with people that came up with Darnell Dawkins during his rise to fame.
What the hell is a mouth guitar legend? Well, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Dawkins made a name for himself by mimicking the noises of a guitar with his mouth, complete with wah and distortion peddles. If ever when you were a child, you played air guitar to your favorite song, and made the guitar noises with your mouth, that’s what you have here. Sounds ridiculous, doesn’t it? It is.
I’m not entirely sure of the budget of this production, but it’s fairly safe to say that it was extremely low.

Is Fdr: American Badass an insipid vacuum of filth, or is it high art of the most outlandish kind? Audiences will be divided, based on their tolerance for raunch, indignity and alternate history.
Like the film, Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury, Fdr is the creation of writer Ross Patterson and director Garrett Brawith, who both revel in working outside mainstream Hollywood, with its rigid concepts of what you "can" and "can't" do in a film. Fdr is part of a movement of independent features that break those "rules."
“They'll tell you over and over what you can and can't do,” says Brawith, “so I've stopped listening.”
“It's just a load of industry bullshit,” insists Patterson. "In Ted, they had a hooker shit on the floor, but Seth MacFarlane is massively successful so he can get away with it. If my name was as huge as his, I would be allowed...

If you haven’t seen director Garrett Brawith’s upcoming motion picture “Fdr: American Badass!”, a flick which concerns itself with the president’s battle against the misdeeds of werewolves, then you’re really missing out on something special. Seriously. I feel sorry for you. I really do. You’ll have a chance to see the film for yourself when it arrives later this year, but until then, I shall walk as a God among men, for it is I who has experienced new and uncharted Bostwickian heights. And, of course, no one will care. Point and laugh… now. Because I enjoy reading ridiculous answers to typical interview questions, I was given the opportunity to chat with Garrett Brawith. If you’ve read any of my posts on this website over the past few months, chances are you’ve seen me mention “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury” and, most recently,...

Filmmaking duo Ross Patterson and Garrett Brawith’s upcoming action/comedy “Fdr: American Badass” was recently acquired by the wise and honorable folks over at the Screen Media Films, which means the entire nation will have the opportunity to experience the flick later this year. However, those of you who are heading to the San Diego Comic-Con International this July will have an opportunity to screen the movie, so consider yourselves incredibly lucky. Even cooler is the fact that “Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury” will make an appearance at the convention, as well. Kevin Sorbo fans are going to seriously freak out. The plot for the aforementioned actioner is as follows: In this throwback to the original 1966 Batman movie, Fdr rides a “wheelchair of death” to stop the world from werewolves who carry the polio virus, including werewolf versions of Hitler, Mussolini, and Emperor Hirohito. “We are very happy to...

Who is Ross Patterson, you ask? That’s what I wanted to know. So when I was given the opportunity to pick apart the genius of writer Ross Patterson — also known in certain circles as Saint James St. James — I felt it was my duty to the world to explore the inner workings of his mind. And if you haven’t seen “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, then you should stop what you’re doing and immediately atone for your sins. I know for a fact that it’s available on Netflix streaming here in the States. If you have a subscription, it would seem you have no reason to pass this one by. Plus: Kevin Sorbo and Mark Curry. That’s too fly. I’ve gotta know: What came first, Saint James St. James or Poolboy? That’s a lot like asking if David Hasselhoff or Dolph Lundgren came first.

Upcoming movie The Whole Banana may feature elements of ancient Greek mythology but, as the whimsical title suggests, it's far removed from any of the other recent productions that have clashed their immortal titans on the big screen.
Instead of a gritty action film with furious gods and fire-spewing fiends locked in deadly battle, you will find a heartwarming tale of charm and humour that promises to show us what it means to be human.
Filming is under way in Los Angeles on the romantic comedy, whose all-star cast of movie and TV favourites includes Kevin Sorbo (Hercules) and Kristy Swanson (Buffy), with large cameo roles from Matthew Perry (Friends) and Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman). We previously reported that Resident Evil actress Sienna Guillory and the Farley brothers had also signed on to the production.

Who knew that Kevin Sorbo could do comedy? I certainly didn’t. Sure, some of the guy’s movies are pretty funny, but I doubt they were filmed with that intent. Director Garrett Brawith’s 2011 action parody “Poolboy: Drowning Out the Fury”, on the other hand, takes the iconic action hero and thrusts him into a “Naked Gun”-style comedy that attempts to lampoon every genre cliche known to mankind. Like most comedies of this nature, some of the jokes work, and some of them do not. Don’t let the over-the-top acting and the lousy special effects fool you — this one is meant to be terrible, though it would appear that some select viewers simply weren’t in on the joke. And that’s a shame, really, because “Poolboy” has a lot to offer those who are as obsessed with explosions as I am. Here’s hoping there are others out there.

As I clicked on the link sent to me by our good friend Wintle and started watching this red band trailer for Fdr: American Badass!, there was only one thought running through my mind: please be real. It certainly seemed like it could be just another parody trailer, created with the sole intention of garnering YouTube hits, but the cast included a handful of character actors like Barry Bostwick and Ray Wise, who didn't seem likely to be associated with such a thing. It turns out that the movie is real... unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have a release date as of yet. Fdr: American Badass! re-imagines Franklin D. Roosevelt as an action hero who has been stricken with polio due to a werewolf bite, and now rides around on a wheelchair of death hunting down lycanthropes and nazis. It certainly looks like yet another Grindhouse / Black Dynamite-esque period comedy,...

It's not a real 'lost' movie from 1990, that's just a neat gimmick to sell this flick. But it Is everything else of which I've ever dreamed.
Firt, Kevin Sorbo is in it. I Adore him. And you do too. Second, it is set in Van Nuys, California (think: the shitty part of Los Angeles) my humble home. And it's about Mexicans. Here is a horror story; Kevin Sorbo is starring in a low brow comedy feature with Danny Trejo called Poolboy, or Poolboy: Drowning out the Fury. Camelot Entertainment Group has just released the trailer on this feature and in the clip lots of B move actors taking part. Also showing are Jason Mewes, Mark Curry and Robert Lasardo. Step into some craziness as Sorbo plays a man suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, from his work cleaning pools.
