The second episode of "Highschool of the Dead" introduces some new characters, and adds some depth to some of the returning ones.
Saya, she of the jagged pigtails and abrasive personality, is teamed up with a fat geek named Hirano, who she bullies and bosses around. He is able to find a nail gun to deal with the zombies, and even makes a sight for it, reminding me of the Dead Rising games.
The character of the school doctor is introduced, and she's an interesting choice for that role. She's a ditz with a high-pitched, breathless and childlike voice. She seems less mature, and certainly less capable, than all the other characters, though they are all a lot younger than her.
I was also surprised when I saw she was wearing a long skirt. How are we going to get fanservice out of that, I wondered? But all was revealed when another character tore her skirt partly off, exposing her panties.
The show's still working for me.
