Like in every sitcom the first episode introduces the characters and explains the situation they are in.

It is too early to say what I think of the characters, but so far it seems to have potential. Dad played by William Shatner already seems to be very funny. I love the one liners.

The very beginning was very funny. I liked the scene of Henry talking on the phone to his mom and him meeting his dad.

I felt like the middle was a bit slow, but this was just done to make us understand the relationship of characters. It still had funny moments

For a pilot episode it is done very well

The entire show is a spoiler

Every review for this show is more entertaining than the show itself. This is the kind of comedy that sets the bar low enough that an Andy Dick anything would be considered hilarious. Terrible script, wooden acting, pointless even by pointless sitcom standards, i had to physically hold my eyelids open to finish it. The very thought of taking 5 second witticisms, seen once a day, and stretching it to 20 minutes a week was a stupid thought. Odd Todd, which at least had some plot, couldn't make it. This show couldn't run as a commercial on that show. I bought Justin's book, and anecdotal as it is, its an OK read a little at a time. Can't blame him for taking the money to go the t.v. route. And I'm hoping the 'professional' writers assigned to the show are at fault for everything besides Shatner's one-liners. His selection was a gross mistake. Not that an actor could have saved this show. Hopefully the plug will be pulled mid-show, mid-sentence, mid-groan. That'll be the only applause it ever gets.
