Oops, Ducky got the wrong chemical.

The writers need a little better chemistry experience , , again.

The chemical in pineapples that was used in the past to remove fingerprints was papain (papaya proteinase), , not pectin. LOL, pectin is the part that thickens the liquid, papain is the part that causes ripening.

Papain can be bought at the store now as Adolph's Meat Tenderizer.

To actually remove the fingerprints, as described by Ducky, you would have to do more than prick the fingertips and put some in, , you would have to inject enough under the skin into the sub-dermis to destroy the layers that generate the whorls.

I LOVE the show, , but they really need to hire a chemist so Ducky can appear to ACTUALLY know what he is talking about.
