What a Treat
bobgrayson-6673122 December 2023
It took me a few minutes to realize that I was sitting in the audience and watching a story of love and longing and healing and so much joy. This is a terrific play brought into my living room on my big screen TV. Thanks and bravo to all for this unique and wonderful experience. Barbara Niven glows. I've watched her for years on Hallmark but this performance stands out. Best of hers for me. Reinforced the truth that she is a marvelous and talented actress. John Kapelos is the perfect husband and I couldn't help laughing at Carole White. What a great comedian. I highly recommend this film (though its a play).

Great Movie

If you are a Hallmark fan you know Barbara Niven. She shows her superb acting skills in The Last Word and brings to life the ghost of Jillian. She definitely is one of the big highlights of this movie. John Kapelos is terrific as the mourning hubby who gets a second chance at love and speaking with the women he misses desperately. The cast is the best combo I've seen in a movie in a long time. Carole White has incredible comedy timing and I couldn't help but laugh out loud at so many scenes. Jan Miller Corran has written a beautiful look at love lost and words we always wish we could have said. At times, the words are shocking, sad, frustrating, but in the end we are left with a wonderful surprise ending. The movie is long thanks to those darn ads, but well worth hanging in.

Many thanks for this amazing play

I have always loved any film Jan Miller Corran wrote or directed. She certainly doesn't disappoint with this unique presentation of her play. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I was totally swept up in the dialogue and the way it was presented. John Kapelos of Breakfast Club and Umbrella Academy fame is spell binding as Brett Harper. I laughed with him and cried with him as he navigated being a widow who sort of blew it with his dead wife. He gets another chance and this time he doesn't. The cast has won best ensemble awards and I can see why. Good picks for every part. And the ending? I won't spoil it but I'm still smiling. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon at the thester.

A friend recommended The Last Word because she knows I'm a huge Barbara Niven fan. Well Barbara doesn't disappoint us. Honestly the best acting I've ever seen her display. This is a filmed play so yu feel like you ae in a theater watching. I quickly got into it. I started watching on my laptop then switched to my television. I could see the actors much better. It's the dialogue that is important and the story broke my heart. But, the4e is a lot of laughter too and I won't spoil the ending. Let's just say that you will love it. Cheers to the writer and director for making this happen. Loved it!
